Abstract: Described herein are borate salts useful as additives, binders, and electrolyte salts for solid state lithium ion batteries. In particular, the borate salts of Formula (I), Formula (II) and Formula (III) as described herein: can be polymerized, or can be bound to an existing polymer, to provide polymeric binders for ceramic solid state electrolytes that are themselves capable of ion transport independent of the ceramic.

Abstract: A window for use on a structure has a first frame, a second frame and a fascia. The structure has a wall having an interior surface, an exterior surface, and an opening extending through the wall from the interior surface to the exterior surface. The opening has an upper edge, a lower edge, a first side, and a second side. The first frame contacts the interior surface of the wall and extends through the opening. The second frame is positioned below the opening and contacts the interior surface of the wall. The fascia is connected to the first frame and contacts the exterior surface of the wall.

Abstract: A machine includes a boom coupled to a movable carrier and at least one boom actuator adapted to actuate the boom. At least one boom sensor is configured to generate signals indicative of a spatial orientation of the boom. A drilling work device is coupled at a distal portion of the boom. First and second actuators are adapted to actuate the drilling work device. At least one drilling work device sensor is configured to generate signals indicative of a spatial orientation of the drilling work device. A controller receives signals indicative of the spatial orientation of the boom, receives signals indicative of the spatial orientation of the drilling work device, and actuates at least one of the at least one boom actuator and the first and second actuators through predetermined sequential steps to automatically position the machine in a shipping configuration.

The memory stores one or more programs configured for execution by the one or more processors. A first message for a user is analyzed for a structured content element. When found, content from a data source distinct from the message is obtained by executing an associated action. A first message display state is formed for the message comprising a message notification and the content. A messaging application user interface, comprising an electronic message list with a plurality of objects, is updated. Responsive to selection of a first object of the plurality of objects, the first object representing the first message, the user is enabled to toggle the first message display state between first and second display states, the second display state differing from the first by providing direct access to the first message.

Abstract: Technology is disclosed herein for a spacecraft launch restraint and dispensing structure. The dispensing structure has a number of trusses and a central structure. When the trusses are in a support position, each spacecraft may be supported at one point by the central structure and at two points by one or more of the trusses. Therefore, each spacecraft may be supported at three points, thereby providing a stable support for each spacecraft. The spacecrafts do not touch each other and do not bear the weight of other spacecrafts. In a deployment position, the trusses extend away from the satellites and do not support the satellites; however, the satellites initially remain connected to the central structure. In the deployment position, the trusses are out of an ejection path such that the satellites can be ejected in a desired sequence from the central structure.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a packaging apparatus and method for packaging an article with a tubular film to be pulled over the article. The packaging apparatus has a machine frame on which a film supply apparatus and a film covering apparatus are mounted. The packaging apparatus includes a releasable drive coupling usable to operatively couple a drive with either the film covering apparatus or the film supply apparatus (or a subcomponent of the film supply apparatus). Once coupled, the drive can move the film covering apparatus or the film supply apparatus relative to the frame.

Abstract: A polarization conversion device includes a geometric phase grating and an angular selective waveplate. The geometric phase grating includes a first liquid crystal layer and is configured to diffract a unpolarized or partially polarized incident light beam into a first light beam and a second light beam (e.g., in two different diffraction orders). The first light beam is characterized by a first polarization state and propagates in a first direction. The second light beam is characterized by a second polarization state and propagates in a second direction. The angular selective waveplate includes a second liquid crystal layer, and functions as a zero or full-wave plate for the first light beam incident in the first direction and a half-wave plate for the second light beam incident in the second direction.

Abstract: A camouflage pattern includes a plurality of shapes each having one of a plurality of base colors. Each shape has different portions having a different shade of the base color of that shape. An outermost portion extends around the shape and remaining portions are each surrounded by another portion of the portions. The shades of the base color may go from light to dark or from dark to light moving inwardly from the perimeter of the shape.

Abstract: Methods for executing a game via a game cloud system are provided. One method includes providing, on a website, a plurality of mini-games stored via the game cloud system. Each of the plurality of mini-games is created based on a portion of the game. Each of the plurality of mini-games is created when the game was played and state data is captured and associated to the respective mini-game. Each of the plurality of mini-games is defined from a respective portion of the game, and the portion identified by at least part of the state data related to play of the game and game actions taken. The state data is used to enable executable play the mini-game, and each of the plurality of mini-games is sharable via the website.

Abstract: Flexible seal assemblies having a relatively low torsional rigidity and high longitudinal flexure to thereby allow the flexible seal assembly to flex between adjacent components and maintain a seal, even when movement between adjacent components occurs, is described. In some embodiments, the flexible seal assembly includes one or more layers of metal matrix material, the metal matrix material being comprised of a plurality of short segments of thin wire arranged randomly and sintered together to form a semi-rigid sheet. The one or more layers of metal matrix material can be sandwiched between an upper casing and a lower casing of a metal alloy casing. In various embodiments, additional features are provided for helping to make sure the seal assembly stays together, such as spot welds formed through the seal assembly, an S-shaped casing, and a recess/protrusion feature provided on adjacent layers of metal matrix material.

Abstract: A family of connectors to accommodate a single twisted pair of conductors is disclosed herein. The family of connectors includes a free connector, a fixed connector, and an adapter; the free and/or fixed connectors can be modified to accommodate the adapter configuration and/or modified to accommodate various patch cord configurations. In certain embodiments, the one or more of the family of connectors adopts an LC fiber optic style connector configuration and an LC fiber optic footprint configuration. In certain examples, one or more of the family of connectors adopts an LC fiber optic style connector configuration but in a footprint that is larger or smaller than the footprint of the LC fiber optic footprint. Other configurations may also be adopted.

Abstract: A communication device, computer program product, and method proactively implement a successful transmit antenna configuration to address antenna outages for multiple transmit carrier scenarios. A carrier of the communication device determines a first transmit carrier, of at least two transmit carriers of a multiple transmit carrier mode, that is identified as having priority among the at least two transmit carriers. The controller identifies one or more transmit antenna configurations in the transmit antenna configuration data that support the first transmit carrier. The carrier determining, for each transmit antenna configuration, an aggregate antenna outage metric that indicates the transmit performance for a corresponding transmit antenna configuration. The controller configures an antenna switching network and RF frontend of a communication subsystem of the communication device with a first transmit antenna configuration that has a better aggregate antenna outage metric than other antenna configurations.
