Abstract: A method for transforming high dynamic range (HDR) video data into standard dynamic range (SDR) video data and encoding the SDR video data so that the HDR video data may be recovered at the decoder includes generating a tone map describing a transformation applied to the HDR video data to generate the SDR video data. The generated tone map describes the transformation as the multiplication of each HDR pixel in the HDR video data by a scalar to generate the SDR video data. The tone map is then modeled as a reshaping transfer function and the HDR video data is processed by the reshaping transfer function to generate the SDR video data. The reshaping transfer function is then inverted and described in a self-referential metadata structure. The SDR video data is then encoded including the metadata structure defining the inverse reshaping transfer function.

In each wall, a first wall layer has sides and a first thickness and a second wall layer has sides extending past each of the sides of the first wall by the first thickness. The crate also has a back panel having a first back panel layer and at least a partial second back panel layer. The first back panel layer has sides and a thickness substantially similar to the first thickness and the second back panel layer extends past each of the sides of the first back panel layer by the first thickness. When assembled, the first wall layers of each of the walls combine to form a post and lintel assembly. The second wall layers of each of the plurality of walls combine to form a second post and lintel assembly distinct from the first post and lintel assembly.

The system includes: at least one sensor for generating two-dimensional (2D) data and a three-dimensional (3D) point cloud of an environment external to a vehicle. The 3D point cloud includes object points associated with a stationary traffic control object. The localization system also includes a memory and at least one processor coupled to the memory. The processor is programmed to: select a bounding box associated with the object from the memory based on the 2D data; arrange the bounding box proximate to the object points in the 3D point cloud; assign a weight to each point of the 3D point cloud based on a position of the point relative to the bounding box; filter the weighted points; and generate a 3D location of the object based on the filtered points.

Abstract: A process for recommending pre-constructed queries in data analytics includes writing different records to a correlation data structure correlating different data classifications of data to different queries and, subsequent to the writing, establishing a communicative connection by a data analytics application to an underlying database. Thereafter, a data model for data in the database may be constructed in the data analytics application and at least one of the different queries may be selected in the correlation data structure that correlates to the classification of the data in the data model. Abstract: A method and communication system has been developed to increase the number of messages sent over a bandwidth limited channel and/or under noisy conditions by using a variable message length encoding and decoding scheme. With this technique, the messages having a higher probability of being sent are shorter as compared to the messages that are less likely to be sent under the current conditions. With this technique, a higher number of transactions per unit of time can be communicated and/or executed over a given bandwidth limited channel. When the transmitted message is received, the receiver does not know the message length, but the receiver deduces the length by using information from various error detection and correction techniques, such as forward error correction (FEC) and cyclic redundancy check (CRC) techniques.

Abstract: A method of video decoding is provided. In the method, a coded video bitstream of a current picture is received. The current picture is divided into a plurality of rows of coding tree units (CTUs). Coding blocks in a first CTU row of the plurality of rows of CTUs are decoded based on motion vector information stored in a history-based motion vector prediction (HMVP) buffer. The motion vector information stored in the HMVP buffer is updated as the coding blocks in the first CTU row are decoded. The HMVP buffer is updated to include the motion vector information of the coding blocks in a first CTU of the first CTU row after the coding block at an end of the first CTU row is decoded.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides for a multilayer film having a sealant layer and a first layer, where the first layer is formed from a first polyolefin composition, and a laminate that includes the multilayer film. The first polyolefin composition of the first layer consists essentially of a high density polyethylene (HDPE) resin and a propylene-ethylene copolymer thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). In addition to the first layer of the first polyolefin composition and the sealant layer, the laminate also includes a substrate film and an adhesive layer comprising polyurethane in adhering contact with the substrate film and the first layer, where when the adhesive layer is formed from a solvent-free adhesive the adhesive layer has an elastic modulus of greater than 25 MPa, and when the adhesive layer is formed from a solvent-based adhesive the adhesive layer has an elastic modulus of greater than 0.30 MPa, the elastic modulus being measured for the polyurethane in accordance with ASTM D412.

Abstract: An oil containment system aboard a vessel includes a pneumatic system to provide power to a winch and reel assembly containing boom whereby the pneumatic supply is capable of simultaneously powering the winch-reel assembly for boom deployment through inflatable gas fed to a pneumatic motor while also inflating the boom. The inflation of the boom is accomplished by diverting, all or any portion thereof, the inflatable gas from a pneumatic supply through a hose that runs concurrently on the outside of the boom. The pneumatic supply originates from a single pneumatic system powering both the winch and reel assembly as well as associated brake and feeding inflatable gas pressure to the inflation hose running concurrently with the boom. The system can be utilized to confine a discharge of a floating material such as hydrocarbons floating on the surface from a vessel or structure.

Abstract: A method for identifying a defect within a cement layer of a multi string wellbore includes deploying a gamma scanner into the multistring wellbore, the gamma scanner including at least one source and at least one detector, the at least one source emitting radiation into the multistring wellbore and the at least one detector receiving backscatter radiation. The method also includes obtaining, from the gamma scanner, a count rate associated with at least one region of interest of the multistring wellbore. The method further includes identifying, based at least in part on data acquired from the gamma scanner, a background profile for the multistring wellbore. The method includes removing the background profile from the count rate. The method further includes identifying, within the at least one region of interest, a defect within the cement layer.
