  • Patent number: 11645236
Abstract: Embodiments for retention locking a deduplicated file stored in cloud storage by defining object metadata for each object of the file, and comprising a lock count and a retention time based on an expiry date of the lock, with each object having segments, the object metadata further having a respective expiry date and lock count for each segment, where at least some segments are shared among two or more files. Also updating the lock count and retention time for all segments of the file being locked; and if the object is not already locked, locking the object using a retention lock defining a retention time and updating the object metadata with a new lock count and the retention time, otherwise incrementing the lock count and updating the retention time for the expiry date if expiry date of a previous lock is older than a current expiry date.

  • Patent number: 11646927
Abstract: An OFDM communication system is described that allows different values of D in a single domain where nodes are operating in different portions of frequency bands. For the power-line medium, G.9960 has defined two overlapped baseband bandplans, 50 MHz-PB and 100 MHz-PB. In this exemplary scenario, the level of frequency diversity is different depending on the bandplan, hence providing different header decodibility if D is fixed to 1. If D is fixed to 2, then it increases reliability for the narrowband devices, but may also unnecessarily increase overhead for the wide-band devices. An exemplary aspect is therefore directed to techniques to accommodate different repetitions schemes (D=1, . . . , DMAX and H=1, . . . , HMAX) in a single domain, and still allow devices to communicate with one another where DMAX and HMAX can be larger than 2.

  • Patent number: 11645633
Abstract: A device may obtain digital signature information relating to a quantity of a type of cryptocurrency, and receive transaction data relating to a credit account, associated with a user, after obtaining the digital signature information. The transaction data may include information identifying a transaction amount. The device may determine, after receiving the transaction data, an amount, of the type of cryptocurrency, that satisfies the transaction amount, perform, using the digital signature information, an action to conduct a sale of a portion of the quantity of the type of cryptocurrency based on determining the amount, and cause proceeds from the sale to be transferred to the credit account as payment for the transaction amount.

  • Patent number: 11642438
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide compositions including bio degradable polymers, medical implants fabricated from these compositions and methods of using such implants. Many embodiments provide medical implants comprising a first polymer backbone having a first rate of biodegradation and a second polymer backbone having a second rate of biodegradation faster than the first rate. In some embodiments, the second backbone is configured to be replaced by a natural tissue layer. The first backbone provides a scaffold for the implant while the second backbone degrades. This scaffold can enhance mechanical properties of the implant including various aspects of mechanical strength such as tensile, bending, hoop and yield strength; and elasticity. The scaffold also serves to maintain a minimum level of structural support of the implant during the period of degradation of the second backbone or for the entire life of the implant so that the implant does not mechanically fail.

  • Patent number: 11646630
Abstract: A system and method for generating rotation of a body includes a rotating body configured to rotate about a rotation axis, at least one permanent flanking magnet and a bias object (or material non-uniformity) both arranged at least partially on or within the rotating body, and a drive or ring element. An axial gap between the ring element and the rotating body exists in an axial direction parallel to the rotation axis. The ring element may be a ferrous body, permanent magnet or electromagnet, and the bias object may be made from one or more materials of magnetic states, such as magnetic, ferromagnetic, paramagnetic, and diamagnetic or be a change in material properties of the rotating body. In some embodiments, a center of the ring element is not aligned with the rotation axis.

  • Patent number: 11641931
Abstract: An extendable and retractable coupling system is configured with a retractable coupler that is tethered to a coupler body to retain valuable item to a person or other item. An extendable coupling system has a dual coupler having a fixed coupler that is stationary, or configured on the coupler body and a retractable coupler that is coupled to the coupler body by a tether. The retractable coupler may be coupled to a valuable item, such as a mobile phone and the fixed coupler may be coupled to a person clothing, such as to a belt loop, for example. The user may then extend the tether to use their mobile phone and place the phone back into a pocket when not in use. The tether may prevent the valuable item, such as the mobile phone, from dropping to the ground and being damaged.

  • Patent number: 11646337
Abstract: An image sensor with uniform, well-controlled air gaps is provided. A structure that is at least partially filled with organic material may be formed on the image sensor. A hybrid organic/inorganic film layer may be formed over the organic material. The image sensor may then be exposed to energy, which causes the organic material to sublimate through the hybrid film layer, which itself may become a gas permeable layer when exposed to energy. After sublimation, the regions where the organic material was previously filled become air gaps with a low index of refraction. Air gaps formed in this way can be configured over photodiodes as light guides or focusing structures, as concave/convex microlenses, in between photodiodes as isolation structures, in between color filter elements to reduce crosstalk, and/or over microlenses to enhancing focusing power.
