Abstract: A system for providing efficient, reliable, and accurate calibration and measurements of a satellite communication (SATCOM) test system, especially in E-band frequencies where precision of measurement and calibration plays a large role in reliable communications at terabit data rates. The system may include a vector network analyzer (VNA), at 67 GHz operation, calibrated using SOLT-type calibrations. The vector network analyzer (VNA) may be communicatively coupled to a device under test (DUT) or system under test (SUT) to obtain calibration and measurement data. The system may also include a signal generator for generating at least one signal. The system may further include an active mixer communicatively coupled to the signal generator. The active mixer may up-convert the least one signal to E-band frequencies. In some examples, the vector network analyzer (VNA), the local oscillator (LO) signal generator, and the active mixer may be synchronized or phase-locked using a reference.

Abstract: A thermometry apparatus used during hyperthermia therapy, which has a mat that can be used in combination with a non-invasive thermometry system. The mat has a top face and a bottom face. Between the top face and the bottom face are embedded wires. The wires provide skin and treatment head thermal information based on the thermal coefficient of resistance of the wires or via two metals in a thermocouple configuration. The mat is placed between the skin and an ultrasound head. The mat is flexible enough to conform to the patient’s body shape at the treatment point. The mat may be used in combination with an infrared camera, where at least one IR camera is pointed at a semi perpendicular angle to the mat, whereby the IR camera measures the temperature directly from the mat side and continually below the ultrasound head providing thermal depth measurements.

Abstract: Methods and circuits for reducing power dissipation in wireless transceivers and other electronic circuits and systems. Embodiments of the present invention use bias current reduction, impedance scaling, and gain changes either separately or in combination to reduce power dissipation. For example, bias currents are reduced in response to a need for reduced signal handling capability, impedances are scaled thus reducing required drive and other bias currents in response to a strong received signal, or gain is increased and impedances are scaled in response to a low received signal in the presence of no or weak interfering signals.

Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for utilizing a natural gas letdown generator at a natural gas regulating station. The system utilizes the gas letdown generator to generate electricity by converting high pressure inlet gas to low pressure outlet gas, which in turn creates low temperature outlet gas. Electricity generated can power a data center. Heat may be transferred, using a heat exchanger, from dielectric fluid of the data center to the natural gas prior to entering the gas letdown generator. Heat may be further transferred, using a second heat exchanger, from the dielectric fluid to the natural gas at the output of the gas letdown generator. The heat exchange may substantially cool the dielectric fluid for transmission to the data center and may heat the low temperature outlet gas for transmission to an end user.

Abstract: A load control device for controlling power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical load may have a closed-loop gate drive circuit for controlling a semiconductor switch of a controllably conductive device. The controllably conductive device may be coupled in series between the source and the load. The gate drive circuit may generate a target signal in response to a control circuit. The gate drive circuit may shape the target signal over a period of time and may increase the target signal to a predetermined level after the period of time. The gate drive circuit may receive a feedback signal that indicates a magnitude of a load current conducted through the semiconductor switch. The gate drive circuit may generate a gate control signal in response to the target signal and the feedback signal, and render the semiconductor switch conductive and non-conductive in response to the gate control signal.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system and method embodiments to implement a validation of an SfM map. An embodiment operates by receiving a motion-generated map corresponding to a digital image, generating a first depth map, wherein the first depth map comprises depth information for one or more triangulated points located within the motion generated image. The embodiment further receives a light detection and ranging (lidar) generated point cloud including at least a portion of the one or more triangulated points, splats the lidar point cloud proximate to the portion of the one or more triangulated points and generates a second depth map for the portion and identifies an incorrect triangulated point, of the one or more triangulated points, based on comparing the first depth information to the second depth information. The incorrect triangulated points may be removed from the SfM map or marked with a low degree of confidence.

Abstract: Motorized loupes enable the user to automatically increase or decrease the magnification on demand, without touching the loupes. Each loupe has a micromotor attached to it which moves a lens in the loupe to change the magnification. The motor is battery powered and the batteries are carried in a small housing worn by the user. The housing also contains electronic circuitry that at least reads the position encoders, drives the motors, receives the user's magnification commands and charges the battery when plugged in. A cord runs from each loupe to the housing to carry power and signals. The motors are controlled wirelessly by a foot pedal or by voice so that the user does not have to touch the loupes to change the magnification. In the preferred embodiment of surgical loupes, a TTL loupe is attached to each lens in a user's eyeglasses for binocular vision.
