  • Patent number: 11634145
Abstract: This technology relates to dynamically detecting, managing and mitigating driver fatigue in autonomous systems. For instance, interactions of a driver in a vehicle may be monitored to determine a distance or time when primary tasks associated with operation of the vehicle or secondary tasks issued by the vehicle computing were last performed. If primary tasks or secondary tasks are not performed within given distance thresholds or time limits, then one or more secondary tasks are initiated by the computing device of the vehicle. In another instance, potential driver fatigue, driver distraction or overreliance on an automated driving system is detected based on gaze direction or pattern of a driver. For example, a detected gaze direction or pattern may be compared to an expected gaze direction or pattern given the surrounding environment in a vicinity of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11636389
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products are described to improve machine learning (ML) model-based classification of data items by identifying and removing inaccurate training data. Inaccurate training samples may be identified, for example, based on excessive variance in vector space between a training sample and a mean of category training samples, and based on a variance between an assigned category and a predicted category for a training sample. Suspect or erroneous samples may be selectively removed based on, for example, vector space variance and/or prediction confidence level. As a result, ML model accuracy may be improved by training on a more accurate revised training set. ML model accuracy may (e.g., also) be improved, for example, by identifying and removing suspect categories with excessive (e.g., weighted) vector space variance. Suspect categories may be retained or revised. Users may (e.g., also) specify a prediction confidence level and/or coverage (e.g., to control accuracy).

  • Patent number: 11637790
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing intent-based orchestration using network parsimony trees. In various embodiments, in response to receiving a request for network services that comprises desired characteristics and performance parameters for the requested network services without information regarding specific hardware, hardware type, location, or network, a computing system might generate a request-based parsimony tree based on the desired characteristics and performance parameters. The computing system might access, from a datastore, a plurality of network-based parsimony trees that are each generated based on measured network metrics, might compare the request-based parsimony tree with each of one or more network-based parsimony trees to determine a fitness score for each network-based parsimony tree, and might identify a best-fit network-based parsimony tree based on the fitness scores.

  • Patent number: 11637649
Abstract: As 5G, and especially 6G, push into ever-higher frequencies, phase noise presents an increasing problem. Disclosed are procedures and modulation schemes to mitigate phase noise and permit messaging at higher frequencies. Each modulation scheme provides phase-noise immunity by configuring modulation states with large phase acceptance regions. A message element is faulted if its sum-signal amplitude or phase is in an exclusion zone. Modulation schemes with fewer phase levels, more amplitude levels, and very broad phase acceptance regions are necessary for high frequency operation where phase noise dominates. Using allowed states with the maximum amplitude modulation in both branches can provide nearly 90-degree phase acceptance. Requiring that the two branches be equal provides nearly 180-degree phase acceptance. Further requiring that the amplitude levels be positive can provide total phase-noise immunity, with a 360-degree allowable phase range.

  • Patent number: 11637857
Abstract: A system for detecting malware is described. The system features a traffic analysis device and a network device. The traffic analysis device is configured to receive data over a communication network, selectively filter the data, and output a first portion of the data to the network device. The network device is communicatively coupled with and remotely located from the traffic analysis device. The network device features software that, upon execution, (i) monitors behaviors of one or more virtual machines processing the first portion of the data received as output from the traffic analysis device, and (ii) detects, based on the monitored behaviors, a presence of malware in the first virtual machine.

  • Patent number: 11636254
Abstract: A system for provenance aware editing for propagating edits back to spreadsheets is provided. The system receives an indication of an operation to be performed at an output location. The operation indicates one or more input locations on a spreadsheet that each provides an input value. The input values are accessed and tagged with their corresponding input location on the spreadsheet. Based on the operation and the input value from each of the one or more input locations, the system derives and displays the result at the output location. A user edit to the result is received at the output location, which causes transmission of a propagation request to change the input value at one or more of the tagged input locations. Using where-provenance associated with the tagged input locations, the system propagates the user edit to one or more of the tagged input locations.

  • Patent number: 11635757
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for making autonomous vehicle handover decisions are described. A handover decision involves deciding if an autonomous vehicle should be handed off from one worker to another worker. The methods allow for decisions to be made in real or near real time shortly before an autonomous vehicle changes location. Worker time, if a handover is not implemented, is considered including the amount of worker time involved with the worker moving with the autonomous vehicle to the new location as compared to a new worker meeting the autonomous vehicle at the new location or on the way to the new location. Handover decisions can consider worker distribution and/or order priority. Such factors can be used to weight one or more time based cost values with a cost value representation of the cost if a handover is not implemented vs implementing a handover being compared to make the handover decision.
