Abstract: A device localization system for a vehicle and a mobile device configured as a Phone-as-a-Key (PaaK) is described. The system includes a fob-free mode for performing remote control vehicle features using a selective mobile device localization technique that reduces motive functionality of the vehicle, based location of a user performing the vehicle control during the remote-control operation. The system determines a geographic position of a user using a single Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) antenna, and establishes establish a high-fidelity zone based on a change in mobile device position. The system reduces a motive functionality of the vehicle, based on the selective mobile device localization, from a first motive mode having a full motive functionality to a second motive mode responsive to determining that the mobile device is not present in the high-fidelity zone.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for an improved mechanism for authenticating users. In particular, the methods and systems facilitate variable authentication of users on mobile devices based on current and historical physical movement of the mobile devices at geographic locations and during predetermined time intervals while maintaining user privacy. Specifically, methods and systems authenticate users by comparing current motion data to historical motion data to determine if a user must be re-authenticated. For example, current motion data may be inconsistent with historical motion data and may cause re-authentication of a user. As another example, current motion data may be consistent with historical motion data and may not require re-authentication of a user. Moreover, the methods and systems alleviate privacy concerns by not transmitting sensitive data over one or more wired or wireless networks.

Abstract: Apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry that decodes prediction information of a current block in a current picture from a coded video bitstream. The prediction information indicates an inter prediction mode. The processing circuitry determines one of decoder-side motion vector refinement (DMVR) and a bi-directional optical flow (BDOF) is enabled based on whether (i) weighted prediction is applied for luma components of the current block and (ii) weighted prediction is applied for chroma components of the current block. The processing circuitry reconstructs a sample in the current block based on whether the one of the DMVR and the BDOF is determined as enabled. The one of the DMVR and the BDOF is disabled responsive to at least one of (i) the weighted prediction being applied for the luma components of the current block and (ii) the weighted prediction being applied for the chroma components of the current block.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a method and system to recover some or all of the data missing in types of gaps that occur in data streams received via telemetry. The gaps can be filled in real time to enhance operator understanding of current operations. For gaps created by special sequences sent via telemetry during a time interval that telemetry would be sending measurement blocks (MB) of data, the gaps can be filled using special MBs combined with MBs for a next time interval to create combined MBs, sent via telemetry, and extracted to backfill the gaps. For gaps caused by corrupted data, the gaps can be filled with data from overlapping MBs having overlapping data based on overlapping time intervals. For gaps caused by gap events, including different drilling rates of penetration, event MBs with sampling rates different than a predetermined sampling rate can be sent via telemetry.

Abstract: A new lighting fixture electronics design is disclosed that is particularly useful for lighting fixtures to utilize energy either directly from the traditional AC power grid or from locally generated renewable DC power sources. The invention entails improvement to the traditional LED driver or lighting ballast design to be able to additionally accept local DC microgrid power directly, without the need to pass the DC power through an external inverter to create an AC voltage. In this way, building construction can be commenced with a single lighting fixture that is capable to operate in multiple input modes, receiving power either from the AC grid or a DC grid, without the need for additional expense required to update the circuitry of the lighting fixtures in the building when the building is upfit at a future date with local renewable energy generating devices.
