Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine, an electric machine, a traction battery, and a controller. The controller, responsive to the vehicle not moving, a temperature of the traction battery being less than a temperature threshold, and a state-of-charge of the traction battery being greater than a state-of-charge threshold, rotates the engine via the electric machine powered by the traction battery while no fuel is supplied to the engine.

Abstract: A license plate frame includes a base portion and a perimeter portion. The base portion includes a plurality of fastener openings, and each of the plurality of fastener openings is configured to receive a fastener for securing the license plate frame and a license plate to a vehicle. The perimeter portion is connected to and extends outwardly from the base portion. The perimeter portion includes a plurality of walls, the plurality of walls includes a first wall, and the first wall includes at least one compression opening.

Abstract: Systems and methods for expediting medical image retrieval based on examination priority are provided. A method includes receiving medical images and parsing the contents to determine medical image information. The method includes applying priority rules based on the medical image information. The priority rules specify an image storage location for storing the medical images. The image storage locations include workstation cache memory and drives of a local storage system having different image access speeds that are slower than an access speed of the workstation cache memory. The method includes storing the medical images at the specified image storage location as defined by the priority rules and retrieving the medical images from the specified image storage location in response to a request to view the medical images at a workstation. The method includes presenting the medical images retrieved from the specified image storage location at a display device of the workstation.

Abstract: A ventilator includes electronic control circuitry configured to control a supply of breathing gas for a plurality of respiratory cycles, measure a volume received by the patient in each of the plurality of respiratory cycles, and determine, for each cycle of the plurality of respiratory cycles, a cycle score corresponding to a deviation between the volume of the cycle and a predetermined target volume. The determined cycle score can be selected from a predetermined number of cycle scores that span positive and negative numbers based on the deviation. A pressure step value can be determined based on a plurality of cycle scores corresponding to the plurality of respiratory cycles, and a current pressure of the breathing gas is adjusted by an amount corresponding to the determined pressure step value. The pressure step value may be generated by dividing a sum of the plurality of cycle scores by a sample size.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for cooling a heat transfer fluid circulating in a cooling circuit including a chiller. The method includes installing on the circuit a vacuum housing having a heat exchange conduit extending therethrough and partially filled with a coolant and an atmosphere and pre-cooling the atmosphere and coolant within the vacuum housing to a pre-cooling temperature of between 35 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit using a conventional cooling system. Thereafter the pressure in the vacuum housing is reduced to between 1 and 500 millitorr until an initial cooling temperature in the range of of ?50 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit is reached and the heat transfer fluid is then circulated through the heat exchange conduit and to the chiller and back. The pressure reduction in is obtained by selectively connecting the vacuum housing to a larger vacuum reservoir which is connected to a vacuum pump.

Abstract: A resin composition and method for installing a pipe liner that allows the liner to be fully wet out with a resin and activator and stored for a period of up to six months prior to installation and curing. A method of lining a pipe with a delayed curing resin composition is also provided that includes fully wetting out a liner with a blended two part epoxy composition such that the liner can be transported in a wet out fashion, placed in a pipe to be lined and repositioned as needed without concern for the resin composition to begin curing.

Abstract: A system including a light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensor is arranged to monitor a field of view, and includes a LiDAR sensor and a linear resonant actuator. The LiDAR sensor includes a first portion including a laser array and a detector array, and a second portion including a transmitting lens and a receiving lens. The linear resonant actuator is arranged to oscillate one of the first portion or the second portion of the LiDAR sensor.

Abstract: A training system for a deep neural network and method of training is disclosed. The system and/or method may comprise: receiving, from an eye-tracking system associated with a sensor, an image frame captured while an operator is controlling a vehicle; receiving, from the eye-tracking system, eyeball gaze data corresponding to the image frame; and iteratively training the deep neural network to determine an object of interest depicted within the image frame based on the eyeball gaze data. The deep neural network generates at least one feature map and determine a proposed region corresponding to the object of interest within the at least one feature map based on the eyeball gaze data.

Abstract: A system for providing advertisements with search results in response to a search query comprises a front end and an advertisement server. The front end is configured: to receive a search query; to send a first search request to a search server and sending a first advertisement request to an advertisement server, wherein the first search request includes the search query or information based on the search query, and wherein the first advertisement request includes the search query or information based on the search query and an indication that an advertisement response is not to be provided; to receive search results from the search server; and to send at least some of the search results to the advertisement server in a second advertisement request, wherein the second advertisement request includes an indication that an advertisement response is to be provided.

Abstract: A tie to secure items therewithin that can be loosened or released to allow the items to be removed therefrom and the tie to be reused. The tie includes an elongated strap having teeth formed thereon that engage with teeth in a locking head to allow movement in only one direction (tightening). A release pad in conjunction with a backplate enables the teeth in the locking head to be disengaged from the teeth on the elongated strap when the release pad is depressed so that the strap can move in an opposite direction (removal). The release pad and the backplate are configured to face away from the items secured within the strap to provide more room for engagement (e.g., by a user's hand) and provide necessary leverage to release the cable tie without need to press the tie against other items (e.g., cables, chassis).

Abstract: A system includes a computer numerical control (CNC) machining system configured to perform a machining operation to define a feature on a workpiece and a machine edge controller disposed external of the machining system and in communication with the CNC machine system. The machine edge controller is configured to perform a machining evaluation during the machining operation. In executing the machining evaluation, the machine edge controller is configured to acquire data indicative of characteristics of the CNC machining system during the machining operation and compare the data with one or more machining baseline parameters associated with the machining operation to determine an abnormal operation of the CNC machining system. The one or more machining baseline parameters define a nominal response of the CNC machining system for performing the machining operation.

The audio system identifies sounds from a human sound source in the local area, based in part on sounds detected within the local area. The audio system generates an audio signal for presentation to a remote user within a virtual representation of the local area based in part on a location of the remote user within the virtual representation of the local area relative to a virtual representation of the human sound source within the virtual representation of the local area. The audio system provides the audio signal to a headset of the remote user, wherein the headset presents the audio signal as part of the virtual representation of the local area to the remote user.

The device may be configured such that, when the second magnet is not within a predetermined distance from the first magnet, a magnetic field from the first magnet having the first polarity causes the first output and the second output to have a first set of values. The device may be configured such that, when the second magnet is within the predetermined distance from the first magnet, a magnetic field from the third magnet having the second polarity causes the first output and the second output to have a second set of values.
