Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve for replacement of a native heart valve having a native valve annulus includes a stent body having a proximal end adjacent an inflow end and a distal end adjacent an outflow end and including an annulus section, the stent body having a radially collapsed condition and a radially expanded condition, one or more prosthetic valve elements mounted to the stent body and operative to allow flow in an antegrade direction from the inflow end to the outflow end but to substantially block flow in a retrograde direction from the outflow end to the inflow end, a cuff coupled to the stent body, the cuff having a mobile portion that is moveable relative to the stent body, and at least one engagement element remote from the stent body.

Abstract: Systems and method are provided for requesting remote control of an autonomous vehicle by a remote transportation system. In one embodiment, a method includes: receiving, by a processor of the autonomous vehicle, experience data associated with the autonomous vehicle, wherein the experience data includes a location of the autonomous vehicle, a time of day, a pose of the autonomous vehicle, detected freespace in an environment of the autonomous vehicle, detected congestion in the environment, a planned maneuver type, and an associated maneuver graph; determining, by the processor, one or more features of a planned maneuver based on the experience data; determining, by the processor, a risk value associated with the planned mission by processing the one or more features with a machine learning model; and selectively generating, by the processor, request data to the remote transportation system based on the risk value, wherein the request data includes the risk value.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a light emitting diode (LED) device includes forming an LED structure by depositing a plurality of semiconductor layers on a transparent substrate. Trenched metal is placed in the plurality of semiconductor layers, with the trenched metal contacting the transparent substrate. The LED structure is attached to a CMOS structure with electrical interconnects that define a cavity therebetween. Laser light is used to provide laser lift-off of the transparent substrate from the plurality of semiconductor layers.

Abstract: This application is directed to an electronic device powered by one or more rechargeable battery cells. The electronic device includes a first negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor proximate to the battery cells, and an open capacitor coupled in parallel with the NTC thermistor. The open capacitor has an open area and two electrodes that are at least partially exposed via the open area and electrically isolated. The electronic device further includes a control circuit coupled to the NTC thermistor and the open capacitor. The control circuit is configured to detect a voltage drop across the NTC thermistor and the open capacitor if conductive liquid enters the open area of the capacitor and electrically connects the two electrodes that are at least partially exposed via the open area.

Abstract: A system and method in at least one embodiment for separating fluids including liquids and gases into subcomponents by passing the fluid through a vortex chamber into an expansion chamber and then through at least a portion of a waveform pattern present between at least two rotors and/or disks. In further embodiments, a system and method is offered for harnessing fields created by a system having rotating rotors and/or disks having waveform patterns on at least one side to produce current within a plurality of coils. In at least one embodiment, the waveform patterns include a plurality of hyperbolic waveforms axially aligned around a horizontal center of the system.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein are directed to intelligently classifying Web trackers in a privacy preserving manner and mitigating the effects of such Web trackers. As users browse the Web and encounter various Web sites, tracker-related metrics are determined. The metrics are obfuscated to protect the privacy of the user. The obfuscated metrics are provided as inputs to a machine learning model, which is configured to output a classification for the Web trackers associated with the Web sites visited by the user. Depending on the classification, the effects of the Web trackers are mitigated by placing restrictions on the Web trackers. The restrictions for a particular Web tracker may be relaxed based on a level of user engagement a user has with respect to the tracker's associated Web site. By doing so, the compatibility risks associated with tracking prevention are mitigated for Web sites that are relatively important to the user.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for sharing health information. For example, the system includes a sensor unit adjacent a building entrance, a first computing device of a visitor to the building entrance, and a second computing device associated with an occupant of the building. The system can include device connected to a smart-home network. One method includes detecting the first computing device adjacent the entrance, requesting health data from the first computing device, the first computing device checking for authorization to share the health data with a user associated of the second computing device; the first computing device sending health data to the second computing device, a second computing device receiving the health data pertaining to the user of the first computing device, and the second computing device notifying the user of the second computing device based on the received health data.

Abstract: A system for estimating a spacing profile for a road agent includes a first module and a second module. The first module includes instructions that cause one or more processors to receive data related to characteristics of the road agent and road agent behavior detected in an environment of an autonomous vehicle, initiate an analysis of the road agent behavior, and estimate the spacing profile of the road agent as part of the analysis. The spacing profile includes a lateral gap preference and predicted behaviors of the road agent related to changes in lateral gap. The second module includes instructions that cause the one or more processors to determine one or more components of autonomous vehicle maneuver based on the estimated spacing profile and send control instructions for performing the autonomous vehicle maneuver.

Abstract: The exemplary embodiments herein provide a motorcycle saddlebag security enclosure assembly having an enclosure with a substantially flat top panel, an access door substantially parallel to the top panel, a bottom panel positioned below the top panel, and a plurality of side panels which connect between the top panel and bottom panel. Embodiments further contain a base adapted for removable attachment to the enclosure and having a substantially flat base plate, and a plurality of legs extending downwardly from the base plate. Preferably, a hook extending upwardly from the top panel and a pass-through aperture is placed on the same side of the enclosure as the hook. A C-shaped base element is placed beneath the base and near a central portion. A U-shaped channel extends below the top panel and accepts a sidewall of the access door.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are exemplary embodiments of methods, apparatus, and systems for performing content-adaptive deblocking to improve the visual quality of video images compressed using block-based motion-predictive video coding. For instance, in certain embodiments of the disclosed technology, edge information is obtained using global orientation energy edge detection (“OEED”) techniques on an initially deblocked image. OEED detection can provide a robust partition of local directional features (“LDFs”). For a local directional feature detected in the partition, a directional deblocking filter having an orientation corresponding to the orientation of the LDF can be used. The selected filter can have a filter orientation and activation thresholds that better preserve image details while reducing blocking artifacts. In certain embodiments, for a consecutive non-LDF region, extra smoothing can be imposed to suppress the visually severe blocking artifacts.

Abstract: A light-emitting diode (LED) driver is described herein. The LED driver includes input terminals that receive power from a pulse width modulation (PWM) power supply operating at a duty cycle less than 100%. The LED driver also includes a current source that receives the power from the input terminals and provides a controlled current with an adjustable target value for at least one LED. The LED driver also includes a PWM correction unit that adjusts the adjustable target value of the controlled current based on the duty cycle of the PWM to provide a constant light output of the LED retrofit lamp independent of the duty cycle of the PWM.

Abstract: A method includes obtaining an image from one or more imaging devices disposed in the interior of the vehicle, modifying the image based on a color conversion routine to generate a source image, generating a conformity value based on a comparison between the source image and a template image corresponding to the interior of the vehicle, where the conformity value is a cross-correlation value, a normalized cross-correlation value, a sum-of-squared difference value, or a combination thereof, and determining a presence of a defect based on the conformity value.

A spindle nut may be supported by the second rail and a spindle, operationally connected to the spindle nut, may be arranged in the inner channel. Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing specific contaminants from an aqueous solution in a recirculating tank or linear treatment system is described. An aqueous solution is pumped into a reaction chamber. Measurements from the aqueous solution are collected, including one or more of Free Chlorine, Total Chlorine, Total Ammonia Nitrogen, pH, bacteria in the tank, and Oxidation Reduction Potential. In response to the measurements collected, one or more of pump speed, injection of pH precursors prior to the reaction chamber, reaction chamber electrode voltage, current, infusion rate of the chlorine, and contact time of the aqueous solution with the chlorine, are adjusted.
