Abstract: A system and method for analyzing bodily fluid include a sample holder holding a bodily fluid sample, an image capture device generating an image of the bodily fluid sample comprising a plurality of fields of view. An image processor is programmed to determine a biofilm in the bodily fluid sample from the image, determine a biofilm area or volume within each of the plurality of fields of view to form a plurality of biofilm areas, determine a total biofilm area or total biofilm volume by adding the plurality of biofilm areas, determine a first value corresponding to a comparison of the total biofilm area or the total biofilm volume and a total volume of the bodily fluid sample, and classify the first value into a classification. An analyzer, using the classification, displays an indicator on a display for indicating the classification of the biofilm within the bodily fluid sample.

Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards cross-stream transactions in a streaming data storage system, which allows a writer application to commit multiple events to distinct data streams in a single transaction. The system creates a cross-stream transaction for a writer application, and the writer application adds events to the cross-stream transaction, indicating which destination data stream(s) each event's data is to be appended. The system adds the event to a subordinate transaction created for each specified data stream. Upon committing the cross-stream transaction, the system coordinates the committing of the subordinate transactions to their respective data streams.
Abstract: This technology relates generally methods of making and using systems designed to enhance athletic skill development and, more particularly, to methods of maintaining proper foot alignment for certain activities that require agility and consistency. There exists a need for a training device that not only allows a user to dynamically transition back-and-forth between a wider and narrower stance, but also protects the lower extremities of the user when in a narrower stance. In particular, during the process of bringing their legs together, the user's foot and ankle could be injured if the training device is not designed in such a way to ergonomically accommodate the ankle and/or have appropriate cushioning features to insulate the foot and/or ankle from full impact against blunt or sharp surfaces.
Abstract: Techniques to process metadata involve: in response to receiving a modification transaction for metadata on a computing device, acquiring information related to a busyness degree of the computing device; and according to at least a determination that the busyness degree is greater than a threshold degree, modifying the metadata in a metadata storage apparatus of the computing device directly without generating a log related to the modification transaction in a log storage apparatus of the computing device. Accordingly, such techniques can achieve good processing performance irrespective of a busy state or non-busy state of a computing device. In particular, when the computing device is in a busy state, a newly triggered modification transaction can still be timely executed, thereby improving IOPS performance of the computing device in a busy state.
Abstract: In particular embodiments, an Orphaned Data Action System is configured to analyze one or more data systems (e.g., data assets), identify one or more pieces of personal data that are one or more pieces of personal data that are not associated with one or more privacy campaigns of the particular organization, and notify one or more individuals of the particular organization of the one or more pieces of personal data that are one or more pieces of personal data that are not associated with one or more privacy campaigns of the particular organization.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improved data conversion and distribution are provided. A data subscription unit is configured to receive data and information from a plurality of data source devices. The data subscription unit is in communication with a virtual machine that includes backtesting utility configured to generate backtesting data using one or more statistical models and one or more non-statistical models. The backtesting utility may translate the backtesting results into one or more interactive visuals, and generate a graphical user interface (GUI) for displaying the backtesting results and the one or more interactive visuals on a user device. The backtesting utility may update one or more of the displayed backtesting results and the one or more interactive visuals without re-running the modeling steps.
Abstract: In an embodiment of the invention, a composition for treating a cell population comprises a medicant. The medicant moiety can be an illudofulvene analog. In an embodiment of the invention, a composition for treating a cell population comprises an Affinity Medicant Conjugate (AMC). The affinity moiety can be an antibody, an antibody fragment, a receptor protein, a peptidic growth factor, an anti-angiogenic protein, a specific binding peptide, protease cleavable peptide, a glycopeptide, a peptide, a peptidic toxin, a protein toxin and an oligonucleotide. The affinity moiety can be covalently bound to the medicant via a linker.
Abstract: Plant growth compositions include a mixture of inert compounds and an active component combination of auxin, gibberellin and cytokinin. The plant growth compositions are auxin-dominant, and the ratio of cytokinin to auxin in the active component combination ranges from about 1:10.5 to about 1:4.5. The amount of cytokinin ranges from about 0.1 to 10 wt % by weight of the active component combination in plant growth compositions formulated for in-furrow application to corn plants. Methods of improving plant growth involve in-furrow, seed and/or foliar application of one or more plant types with a plant growth composition. Improvements in plant growth include increases in the average number of bushels produced per acre.
Abstract: The invention comprises a truck and riding devices with a lean steering spatial mechanism comprised of rigid bodies and a single compliant body connected by joints forming a closed kinematic chain wherein the compliant body provides compression, tension, and torsional return spring forces for multi-axial functionality within the constraints of the lean steering spatial mechanism, allowing for the combined functionality of deep deck lean, improved lean steering control over a wider range of speed, improved speed stability, and full load bearing suspension. The invention has additional degrees of freedom and additional primary motions of floating and suspension.
Abstract: An electric motor-actuated packer and/or anchor (EMAP/A) apparatus and method for use in downhole operations. The apparatus includes a packer subassembly and/or a slip subassembly and can be: set in a packer and anchor mode; set in an anchor-only mode without energizing the packer elements; repeatedly set and unset without run-in string manipulation; run in a multiple, or redundant, configuration within a given tool string, with each EMAP/A apparatus capable of being set/unset independently of the others; and combined within a tool string in a straddle packer configuration, with inverted and non-inverted EMAP/As providing the ability to isolate an interval of interest from both above and below the interval. Among other uses, the apparatus and method are well suited for application in a single-trip, e-coil conveyed completion system, and particularly one providing for radial hydraulic jetting.

Abstract: A clathrate of 1-methylcyclopropene with ?-cyclodextrin, obtained as a solid particulate product, is modified by comminuting, classifying, or both to obtain a modified particulate. When subjected to identical atmospheric disgorgement conditions of humidity and temperature, identical masses of the modified and unmodified particulates exhibit different rates of 1-methylcyclopropene disgorgement. Specifically, we have found that a smaller mean particle size is inversely related to a greater rate of 1-methylcyclopropene release.
