  • Patent number: 11436190
Abstract: A public cloud is owned by a first entity and a cloud vault target is owned by a second entity, different from the first entity. A data moving micro-service is deployed to the public cloud and another data moving micro-service is deployed to the cloud vault target. A request is issued to the public cloud for a snapshot of data to vault to the cloud vault target. The snapshot is accessed to write the data to a cloud volume in the public cloud. The data moving micro-service at the public cloud and the other data moving micro-service at the cloud vault target coordinate to read the data in the cloud volume, and deduplicate and replicate the data in the cloud volume from the public cloud to the cloud vault target.

  • Patent number: 11435930
Abstract: Data protection operations including recovery operations are disclosed. A recovery operation is performed by downloading the backup to be recovered from multiple identical copies of the backup. Based on factors such as throughput, an optimal amount of data can be downloaded from each of the multiple copies. The portions downloaded from the multiple copies are rebuild or reassembled once downloaded. The assembled backup is then presented to a target for recovery.

  • Patent number: 11436219
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards a streaming data storage system that maintains streamed events, including in a manner that facilitates the ordering of those events based on external ordering (position) data. An event is appended to an event segment, and an index segment maintains offset information to the event relative to the offsets of other previously appended events. The index segment is ordered by position data provided with the event, such that the events (e.g., for a given event routing key) can be read back in position order instead of append order. An ongoing read that returns an event (that matches ongoing read criteria) as the event arrives can also be handled. Also described is the use of a tail index and an indexing queue for more efficient handling of events prior to writing the offset information into the index segment.

  • Patent number: 11438988
Abstract: A power management and smart lighting system is provided that enables efficient distribution of DC power to various building features, including LED lighting. The power management system includes an intelligent power supply unit configured to convert AC power drawn from a building load center into a deadband DC waveform. The deadband DC power generated by the intelligent power supply unit is then transmitted over power-with-Ethernet cables to a plurality of distributed intelligent drivers, each configured to intelligently power one or more LED troffers. The intelligent drivers may be daisy-chained to one another by the power-with-Ethernet cables, enabling a power-ring architecture. To enable easy control of the drivers, intelligent sensors can be distributed throughout the topology and connected to the drivers (e.g., via power-with-Ethernet cables) to enable a wide array of lighting control options.

  • Patent number: 11436232
Abstract: A method for execution by a node of a computing device includes determining a plurality of queries for concurrent execution. A plurality of sets of segments required to execute the plurality of queries is determined, and a set of virtual segments in the plurality of sets of segments is determined. A subset of the set of virtual segments is be determined by identifying ones of the set of virtual segments that are required to execute multiple ones of plurality of queries. A locally rebuilt set of rows for each of the set of virtual segments is generated by utilizing a recovery scheme. • Patent number: 11436104
Abstract: A set of restore jobs are created to restore a backup. The backup may be maintained across a set of storage devices connected to a backup server. The set of storage devices have different levels of performance and each restore job is responsible for restoring from a respective storage device. Information describing arrangements of processors and memory units is reviewed to create a set of heterogeneous domains, each domain including a processor and memory unit. Performance characteristics, including latency and bandwidth measurements, of the heterogeneous domains are examined. The heterogeneous domains are ranked based on their performance characteristics. The restore jobs are assigned to the heterogeneous domains by successively matching a restore job associated with a storage device having a lowest level of performance relative to other unmatched storage devices with a heterogeneous domain having a highest level of performance relative to other unmatched heterogeneous domains.
