Abstract: Techniques for providing improved online communication are provided herein. In one example, a model may be used to predict network parameters of a network connection of a computing device. One or more attributes specifying characteristics of the network connection for the computing device may be received and used by the model to predict the network parameters. The predicted network parameters may be provided to a computing device for initiation of a media session.

Abstract: A factory management and monitoring system includes a processing unit structured to receive data from a plurality of sensors structured to monitor one or more factories or machines included in the factories, to analyze the received data, and to generate a user interface including the received data or information resulting from analysis of the received data, and a display structured to display the user interface.

Abstract: A fiber-based radiopaque tissue marker for radiographic marking of tissue is provided. The marker is a sterile, single-patient-use polymeric fiber with a radiopaque material and a dye. The marker is radiopaque using standard radiographs such as x-rays and mammography. The marker can also be visualized by low-dose CT scans.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for the generation and use of a surfel map with semantic labels. One of the methods includes receiving a surfel map that includes a plurality of surfels, wherein each surfel has associated data that includes one or more semantic labels; obtaining sensor data for one or more locations in the environment, the sensor data having been captured by one or more sensors of a first vehicle; determining one or more surfels corresponding to the one or more locations of the obtained sensor data; identifying one or more semantic labels for the one or more surfels corresponding to the one or more locations of the obtained sensor data; and performing, for each surfel corresponding to the one or more locations of the obtained sensor data, a label-specific detection process for the surfel.

Abstract: In accordance with one aspect of the present disclosure, an apparatus for securing bone portions is provided that includes a surgical cable having a plurality of elongate elements and a connector. The connector includes a body and a deformable sleeve associated with the body and having a through opening for receiving the surgical cable. The through opening of the surgical cable has a non-deformed configuration sized to compress the elements of the surgical cable together with the surgical cable extending in the sleeve through opening. An actuator is connected to the body and is operable to deform the sleeve and further compress the compressed elements of the surgical cable therein to secure the surgical cable relative to the body.

Abstract: Amorphous solid dispersions and pharmaceutical compositions of the protein kinase inhibitor dasatinib. The pharmaceutical compositions may be used in methods of treating a proliferative disorder such as cancer, or in methods of delivering dasatinib to patients without regard to whether the patient is concurrently administered a gastric acid-reducing agent, or without regard to whether the patient has an elevated gastric pH. The compositions may be particularly suitable for patients afflicted by achlorhydria or hypochlorhydria, or Helicobacter pylori infection.

Abstract: A system for disinfecting a mass transit vehicle includes a storage tank for storing a disinfection solution. A plurality of nozzles are installed in the interior of the mass transit vehicle. The plurality of nozzles projecting droplets of the disinfection solution into the interior of the mass transit vehicle when the system is activated. A pump pumps the disinfection solution from the storage tank to the plurality of nozzles on the interior of the mass transit vehicle. A control switch initiates operation of the system. A system indicator indicates an operational status of the system. A controller controls the operation of the pump responsive to an input from the control switch.

Abstract: Disclosed are procedures for measuring the modulation quality of each message resource element in a failed 5G or 6G communication, thereby revealing the most likely fault locations in the message. The types of modulation deviations in the low-quality message elements can provide further guidance as to the correct demodulation. In addition, after receiving a second copy, the copies can be merged by selecting the highest quality message elements from each version, where the quality is related to how far each message element's modulation deviates from the calibrated “states” of the modulation scheme. The receiver may also determine directional information based on the modulation of each message element, and may compare versions to determine the most likely correct state of each message element. Such strategies may directly recover the original message, or may greatly reduce the number of variations that need to be tested.

Abstract: A wearable device equipped with sensors or transducers capable of detecting a vibration propagating through two different mediums. In some embodiments, the two mediums are air and a surface contacted by a user. In such an embodiment, the sensors or transducers include a microphone and an accelerometer. In some embodiments, the device may perform some or all of the signal processing and/or logic used to determine that a contact occurred and the location of the contact using a processor programmed with a set of computer-executable instructions. In some embodiments, the device may transmit data or signals to a processor located in a different device, such as a mobile phone or artificial reality headset, for signal processing and/or the execution of logic.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the carbon deposit buildup in the internal combustion engine, or more specifically the removal of such carbon from the induction system, combustion chamber, and the exhaust system. The method is one in which a high volumetric flow rate of chemical/chemical mixes are used to remove a greater amount of carbon from the engine. These preferred chemical/chemical mix flow rates are 6 to 9 Gallons per hour, which is approximately 9 times the volumetric flow rate of the industry standard of 1 gallon per hour.

Abstract: Techniques for providing an RPC-less locking mechanism based on RDMA CAW for a storage cluster with an active-active architecture. The techniques include, in response to receipt at a storage node of a lock request for accessing an LBA of a storage object, synchronizing, between the storage node and a remote node, a state of a lock for the LBA. The synchronizing of the lock state includes locating an ALS object having a field containing the LBA, updating a field of the ALS object to include the storage node, and setting a field of the ALS object to a type of lock specified in the lock request. If the storage node locates the ALS object in an array maintained within visible memory on the remote node, then the storage node updates/sets corresponding fields of the ALS object by performing atomic CAW operations supported by an RDMA channel between the respective nodes.

Abstract: An embodiment of a method of providing identity services includes: receiving identity data for an individual for which the identity provider has provided an identity; generating a transaction to store an identifier representing the identity data in a data structure on a blockchain of a distributed system; sending the transaction to at least one node of the distributed system; and generating an identity token incorporating the identifier representing the identity data. An embodiment of a method of verifying an identity includes: receiving data extracted from the identity token, wherein the extracted data includes an identifier representing the identity data; determining whether a data structure containing the extracted identifier representing the identity data is stored on a blockchain of a distributed system; and outputting an indication of a validity of an identity associated with the identity data based on the determination.

Abstract: A phase shifter transmission device includes: a power mechanism, a driving rod, a plurality of transmission assemblies, and at least one row of phase shifters. The power mechanism is connected to the driving rod and configured to drive the driving rod to rotate. The plurality of transmission assemblies are connected to the driving rod, distributed along an axial direction of the driving rod, and driven by the driving rod to rotate synchronously. Each row of phase shifters includes a plurality of phase shifters distributed along the axial direction of the driving rod, and each phase shifter of each row of phase shifters is connected to the corresponding transmission assembly. The at least one row of phase shifters are configured, when being driven by the plurality of transmission assemblies, to synchronously adjust phases of radiated signals corresponding to the phase shifters.

Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for providing batch performance using a stream processor. In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising receiving a stream of events, where each event comprises a header including an event type field and a timestamp. and identifying that the header of a given event in the stream of events includes at least one secondary event in a list of secondary identifiers included in the header. A flag is set in a distributed database for the at least one secondary event, then writing the given event to a table in the distributed database occurs, the table selected based on a respective event type field and timestamp associated with the given event. Deduplicating the given event and the at least one secondary event in response to a close of books (COB) signal occurs, after which writing at least one deduplicated event to a storage device occurs, the at least one deduplicated event selected from the group consisting of the given event and the at least one secondary event.

Abstract: The nozzle includes a nozzle body having a front end with a recess defining a recessed wall. The recess is elongate in a first direction. The recess receives a front-end section of a ferrule of a multi-fiber connector to define gap, wherein the front-end section has an elongate end face. The nozzle has first and second channels that are elongate in the first direction and have respective first and second front-end openings at the recessed wall. The first and second front-end openings are spaced apart in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A cleaning fluid flows from the first channel into the gap and then out the second channel, including over the ferrule end faces and end faces of optical fibers supported by the ferrule. A flow-disrupting feature on the recessed wall generates turbulent flow to enhance cleaning.

Abstract: A water monitoring device includes a housing, a graduated tube, a magnet, and a flow sensor. The graduated tube is positioned inside the housing and has a longitudinal axis and an inlet diameter less than an outlet diameter. The magnet is positioned within the graduated tube and configured to translate along the longitudinal axis of the graduated tube. The flow sensor is mounted within the housing and outside the graduated tube. The flow sensor is configured to detect the magnet and the position of the magnet along the longitudinal axis of the graduated tube correlates to a flow level through the water monitoring device.

Abstract: A cleaning device (10, 110, 210) may be a card-like member such as a flap (16, 116), integrally formed with a dispenser container (12), or a slotted member (36) mounted on a stand-alone cleaning device (110). A cleaning wipe fabric (22, 122) has a modulus of stiffness which is high enough to bridge a plurality of cleaning slots (26a-26d, 126a-126d) and hold the fabric out of contact with the slot floor surfaces (26a?), and low enough to be deflected by a fiber optic end being cleaned to sag within the cleaning slot to better enclose and clean the tip of the fiber optic end. Used cleaning fabric (22, 122) can easily be advanced or removed as needed to avoid using the same area of fabric for cleaning more than once.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a moveable reinforcement assembly for a motor vehicle, such as a motor vehicle with a front trunk (i.e., a “frunk”). An example vehicle includes a front end assembly, a panel moveable relative to the front end assembly between a closed position and an open position, and a reinforcement assembly mounted to the panel and configured to interface with the front end assembly when the panel is in the closed position. The reinforcement assembly effectively absorbs and transfers loads applied thereto while also being moveable so as to not obstruct access to a front trunk.
