Abstract: A proxy server to receive a request from a client to a webserver and a response corresponding with the request from the webserver to the client is disclosed. The request is wrapped, and a wrapped request is received at the proxy server. The wrapped request is read at the proxy server. Metadata is added to a response corresponding with the wrapped request at the proxy server. The metadata can be based on the read wrapped request or the corresponding response.
Abstract: Fully qualified domain name determination is disclosed. A queue of fully qualified domain names (FQDN) is created using a predetermined amount of network domains. Each FQDN is crawled from a plurality of collection agents of a computer network. For each FQDN, data comprising an Internet Protocol (IP) address of the FQDN, IP addresses for resources loaded for the FQDN and load times of the resources loaded for the FQDN are extracted. A correlation model is generated based on the data. An FQDN being accessed by one or more computer devices of the computer network is determined by using the correlation model.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for selecting units for speech synthesis. One of the methods includes determining a sequence of text units that each represent a respective portion of text for speech synthesis; and determining multiple paths of speech units that each represent the sequence of text units by selecting a first speech unit that includes speech synthesis data representing a first text unit; selecting multiple second speech units including speech synthesis data representing a second text unit based on (i) a join cost to concatenate the second speech unit with a first speech unit and (ii) a target cost indicating a degree that the second speech unit corresponds to the second text unit; and defining paths from the selected first speech unit to each of the multiple second speech units to include in the multiple paths of speech units.
Abstract: An exercise machine may include a support frame; at least one weight rack configured to receive added weight; and a weight ratio arrangement engaged with the support frame, the at least one weight rack, and a first attachment. The weight ratio arrangement may include an exercise cable having a first end connected to the first attachment and a second end connected to a portion of the machine; at least two movable pulley blocks, each including at least one pulley, wherein the at least one weight rack is attached to and configured to move with one of the at least two movable pulley blocks; and a locking mechanism movable between a locked position in which only one movable pulley block is movable and an unlocked position in which the two movable pulley blocks are movable. The exercise cable may be operatively connected to the at least two movable pulley blocks.
Abstract: A system for wireless acquisition and presentation of local spatial information includes a portable computing device in communication with a wireless receiver, the portable computing device designed and configured to receive a first signal from a first transmitter at a first location, parse the first signal for at least a textual element, extract, from the at least a textual element, an identifier of the first transmitter, establish a spatial bounding constraint as a function of the identifier, retrieve regional descriptive data from a spatial information data structure as a function of the identifier, wherein the regional descriptive data describes information within the spatial bounding constraint, generate a local area description as a function of the regional descriptive data and the spatial bounding constraint, and present the local area description to a user of the portable computing device.

Abstract: The present invention describes devices and methods for assisting in the education of individuals, particularly the education of children. The present invention brings provides technological interventions with information about the child's eye-gaze location, gesture activity, emotional expression or other inputs. The disclosure further seeks to enhance learning by mimicking, for example, the parent's output of activities of physical gesture and of directed eye gaze or joint attention to enhance the child's learning experience. The present invention includes responds to input, either from the user, other indivduals, or information stored in memory. The present invention then processes, via a processor and associated memory, the inputs according to one or more computer program modules. Based on the input and computer program module(s), the present invention then processes an output, of various forms, to the user.
Abstract: Amorphous solid dispersions and pharmaceutical compositions of the protein kinase inhibitor nilotinib. The pharmaceutical compositions may be used in methods of treating a proliferative disorder such as cancer. In some embodiments, the pharmaceutical compositions can be administered without regard to food consumption. In other embodiments, the pharmaceutical compositions can be administered at a significantly lower dose as compared to a commercially available immediate-release nilotinib formulation, while providing a comparable therapeutic effect.

Abstract: Techniques for streamlined secure deployment of cloud services in cloud computing environments are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method can include in response to receiving an instruction to deploy a cloud service in the cloud computing system, creating a deployment subscription to resources in the cloud computing system, the deployment subscription being owned by the deployment service and instantiating one or more computing resources accessible by the deployment service in the cloud computing system in accordance with the created deployment subscription. The method also includes retrieving one or more components of an application corresponding to the cloud service based on a manifest with the instantiated one or more computing resources and installing the retrieved one or more components of the application in the cloud computing system in accordance with an installation sequence identified in the manifest.

Abstract: A surface-relief structure comprises a surface-relief grating including a first material characterized by a first refractive index, a first layer of a second material having a second refractive index conformally deposited on surfaces of the surface-relief grating, and a second layer of a third material having a third refractive index conformally deposited on the first layer. The effective refractive index of the combination of the first layer and the second layer is less than, equal to, or greater than the first refractive index, thereby increasing the duty cycle and/or modifying the overall refractive index of the surface-relief structure. The first layer and the second layer are deposited using, for example, atomic layer deposition techniques.
