Abstract: The compositions of various embodiments include a tocopherol phosphate mixture (TPM) comprising a liposome having a lipid bilayer and an internal aqueous compartment, a lipophilic ingredient, a polar solvent system, an alcohol, a base, and a water soluble phase, wherein the liposome is made of a tocopherol phosphate derivative, wherein the lipophilic ingredients are entrapped in the lipophilic bilayer of the liposome, and wherein a water soluble ingredient is dissolved in the water soluble phase and is in the internal compartment of the liposome. The methods include improving the look of skin particularly of the neck and décolletage, increasing expression of an extracellular matrix proteins in skin, improving a keloid scar in a subject, and improving aging skin. Additionally, methods for preparing said compositions are described herein.

Abstract: The present invention describes a bio-based process to produce high quality protein concentrate (HQPC) by converting plant derived celluloses and carbohydrates into bioavailable protein via aerobic incubation, including the use of such HQPC so produced as an antibacterial and use of said HQPC in feed formulations for shellfish aquaculture diets.

Abstract: A roll forming machine for continuously forming a sheet into a joint section of a tube may include a plurality of roller stations arranged longitudinally on a frame and configured to bend the sheet to form the tube, and a carriage slidably secured to the frame. A pleat die assembly may be mounted on the carriage and can be configured to repeatedly engage the tube to form a series of pleats thereby bending the tube to form the joint section. A crimp die assembly may be mounted on the carriage and can be configured to engage the tube to crimp an end of the joint section and sever the end of the joint section from the tube. The carriage may be configured to be selectively moved relative to the frame while the tube is engaged with at least one of the crimp die assembly and the pleat die assembly.

Abstract: Methods of making composite articles wherein at least a portion of a hardsurface wear protection applied to a composite article includes matrix composite and hard elements with channels between the hard elements. A layered preform coating mat may be applied over a substrate of the composite article and then fused thereto to form channels between hard elements in the coating mat. The channels may extend over the entire outer surface of the composite article or only over a portion thereof. A hybrid layered preform coating mat may include a depressed section adapted for receiving a perforated braze preform inlay. When the coating mat is fused to the substrate, channels may be formed between the hard elements in the depressed section, but not in a non-depressed section.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of facilitating a laminar flow and sound mitigation between a wetted hull of a vessel and surrounding fluid. More specifically, the present disclosure includes methods, systems, and apparatuses to facilitate providing and sustaining a laminar flow of a fluid across a vessel. A system for sustaining laminar flow of a fluid across a vessel comprising a main control unit. The main control unit comprises one or more air compressor units configured to generate air. An integrated longitudinal air distribution assembly is secured to a wetted hull of the vessel. The distribution assembly comprises a series of air dispersal modules configured to distribute the generated air across the wetted hull of the vessel to create at least one air layer between the wetted hull of the vessel and the fluid to sustain the laminar flow of the fluid across the vessel.

Abstract: Provided are various embodiments relating to compositions and methods for treating vascular disease, including core NOX1 promoters and variants thereof for regulating expression of transgenes in response to vascular pathology and allowing for increased transgene loading capacity. Also provided are variant FOXP polypeptides having a zinc finger and leucine zipper region of a different FOXP polypeptide. Further provided are vectors comprising the core NOX1 promoters and/or a coding sequence for variant FOXP polypeptides described herein and optionally coding sequence(s) for one or more additional therapeutic polypeptide(s), such as IL10, for treating inflammation-associated diseases, such as vascular disease. Also provided is a screening model for testing therapeutic agents capable of treating established and ongoing atherosclerotic pathology.

Abstract: Various devices, systems, structures and methods are disclosed related to securely authorizing a transaction by synchronizing digital genomic data with associated synthetic genomic variants. An embodiment of the present invention utilizes digital genomic data associated with an entity, such as a person, who may utilize a genome-based security device to complete a transaction. In one embodiment, a person may use a genome-based security device to communicate with an external device over a wireless or other communication interface, synchronize digital genomic data and an associated synthetic variant received from the external device with digital genomic data and associated synthetic variant stored on the genome-based security device.

Abstract: A computer, including a processor and a memory, the memory including instructions to be executed by the processor to acquire a first image by illuminating a first object with a first light beam, determine a first measure of pixel values in the image and perform a comparison of the first measure of pixel values to a second measure of pixel values determined from a second image of a second object, wherein the second image is previously acquired by illuminating the second object with a second light beam. The instructions include further instructions to, when the comparison determines that the first measure is equal to the second measure of pixel values within a tolerance, determine that the first object and the second object are a same object.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and control system for a battery cell include a heat exchanger in thermal contact with the battery cell, and a first controller. The first controller connects to the heat exchanger, and monitors the battery cell. The first controller includes a reduced order electrochemical model, a heat generation model, and a heat generation controller. The first controller determines a target parameter for the battery cell, and determines battery cell parameters. The reduced order electrochemical model determines internal ROM variables based upon the battery cell parameters. The heat generation model determines an electrochemical heat generation parameter from the battery cell based upon the internal ROM variables and the target parameter for the battery cell. The heat generation controller determines a heat work parameter based upon the electrochemical heat generation and the target parameter for the battery cell. The heat exchanger is controlled based upon the heat work parameter.

Abstract: The technology provides for a system for determining a gesture provided by a user. In this regard, one or more processors of the system may receive image data from one or more visual sensors of the system capturing a motion of the user, and may receive motion data from one or more wearable computing devices worn by the user. The one or more processors may recognize, based on the image data, a portion of the user's body that corresponds to a gesture to perform a command. The one or more processors may also determine one or more correlations between the image data and the received motion data. Based on the recognized portion of the user's body and the one or more correlations between the image data and the received motion data, the one or more processors may detect the gesture.

Abstract: Video processing with a multi-quality loop filter using a multi-task neural network is performed by at least one processor and includes generating a first set of masked weight parameters, based on an input and a plurality of quantization parameter values with a corresponding first set of masks and first plurality of weight parameters, for a first set of shared neural network layers, selecting a second set of task specific neural network layers for the plurality of quantization parameter values with a second plurality of weight parameters, based on the plurality of quantization parameter values, computing an inference output, based on the first set of masked weight parameters and the second plurality of weight parameters, and outputting the computed inference output as an enhanced result.

The method includes generating a first record of visits by the user to the websites of the predetermined group of websites. The method further includes providing one or more website profiles comprising demographic characteristics of each website visited by the user of the predetermined group of websites. The method further includes calculating an estimated user demographic profile of the user by using the first record of visits by the user and the one or more website profiles.

Abstract: A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for video encoding and decoding. Video data including a current picture is received. A virtual reference frame is generated for the current picture based on hierarchical level associated with the current picture and a nearest decoded picture. The video data is decoded based on the generated reference frame.

Abstract: Examples of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a body portion of a golf club head may include a top portion with a recess and a pocket inside the recess. A plate portion may be coupled to the body portion and may include a flat portion configured to fit inside the recess and a boss portion configured to fit inside the pocket. The boss portion may include a threaded port aligned with a through-port extending from a base portion of the pocket through to a sole portion of the body portion. A fastener may be inserted through a sole-end of the through-port and threadingly coupled to the threaded port to secure the plate portion to the body portion. Abstract: A vehicle interior mountable and adjustable bottle holder apparatus is provided having an L-shaped base, a slidably removable clip, and an adjustable elastic strap for securely holding and mounting bottles of soap, sanitizer, and similar hygienic products of various dimensions within multiple interior areas of a vehicle. The slidably removable clip is adapted for three positions; an extended, a closed, and a removed position relative to the L-shaped base. The slidably removable clip has a headrest attachment aperture or an interlocking headrest clamp, each adapted to receive and securely retain a headrest pole. In another embodiment the L-shaped base has an extruding air vent clip retention channel with air vent clips for mounting the apparatus to the vehicle's air vent. The apparatus is also adapted for insertion and retention into a side window panel in a door, attachment to an inside door handle, and an armrest of the vehicle.
