  • Patent number: 11377604
Abstract: Methods are provided to prepare a low sulfur fuel from hydrocarbon sources, such as light tight oil and high sulfur fuel oil, often less desired by conventional refiners, who split crude into a wide range of differing products and may prefer presence of wide ranges (C3 or C5 to C20 or higher) of hydrocarbons. These fuels can be produced by separating feeds into untreated and treated streams, and then recombining them. Such fuels can also be formulated by combinations of light, middle and heavy range constituents in a selected manner as claimed. Not only low in sulfur, the fuels of this invention are also low in nitrogen and essentially metals free. Fuel use applications include on-board large marine transport vessels but also on-shore for large land based combustion gas turbines, boilers, fired heaters and transport vehicles and trains.

  • Patent number: 11375971
Abstract: A method for determining a patient radiation and diagnostic study score associated with past diagnostic radiologic tests. In light of the obvious benefits of diagnostic radiology, the risks inherent in its use are often overlooked. Ionizing radiation, which is a component of much, but not all, diagnostic radiology, carries with it a small risk of inducing cancer every time it is used. This additional risk, known as “Lifetime Attributable Risk,” is layered on top of an individual's lifetime base risk of invasive cancer. The present method for determining a patient radiation and diagnostic study score provides right time, right place, and right format radiology information to assist providers in their medical decision-making. With greater awareness of recent study history, and individually contextualized risk and benefit considerations, providers are more likely to decrease their overall usage of diagnostic radiology and better counsel their patients on future risk.

  • Patent number: 11380451
Abstract: Simplified nuclear reactors include depressurization systems or gravity-driven injection systems or both. The systems depressurize and cool the reactor without operator intervention and power. An underground containment building may be used with the depressurization and injection systems passing through the same from above ground. Depressurization systems may use a rupture disk, relief line, pool, and filter to open the reactor and carry coolant away for condensation and exhausting. Injection systems may use a coolant tank above the nuclear reactor to inject liquid coolant by gravity into the reactor through an injection line and valve. The rupture disk and valve may be integral with the reactor and use penetration seals where systems pass through containment. Rupture disks and valves can actuate passively, at a pressure setpoint or other condition, through fluidic controls, setpoint failure, etc. The depressurization system and injection system together feed-and-bleed coolant through the reactor.

  • Patent number: 11378235
Abstract: A system and method for detecting multiple incidents in a set of flow meter units attached to a set of water consuming units. A plurality of uniquely identified flow meter units are operatively connected to a central control unit. The control unit is programmable to send alerts based on leaking incident status of particular flow meter units so that a responder may receive the alert and timely address the alert. The central control receives and stores data from the multiple flow meter units, including volumetric flow, time, and status and location of each alert. A method of detecting leaking in a building having multiple separate units, each unit having a unit water supply, includes placing a specially configured controller having a flow meter and automatic shut-off valve in each unit of the building. Leak sensors are positioned in water-leak risk areas wherein the controller communicates with both the flow meter and the sensors. A communication is established in between the controller and the sensors.

  • Patent number: 11379490
Abstract: Systems and methods inject related content to a search result using a dwell score. For example, a method may include, for at least one result at least partially displayed in a viewport, calculating a dwell score for the result at based on an amount of time the result has been in the viewport and a position of the result in the viewport and, if the dwell score meets a threshold, displaying suggested links for the result in the viewport. Another example method includes displaying a scrollable set of search results in a viewport and, while waiting for a scroll action or link selection, calculating a dwell score for at least one result that has content visible in the viewport and updating ranking signals based on the dwell score. The updated ranking signals are used to generate a next set of search results for the query.

  • Patent number: 11381404
Abstract: An existing Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) framework is modified to overcome message size limitations by implementing a control byte that enables segmentation of SASL messages. In implementations in which client computing devices utilize a trusted platform module (TPM) for enhanced security, the client computing device can transmit multiple public keys and other information to a provisioning service during an attestation process. This information can be segmented across multiple messages while leveraging the SASL framework. A control byte may be utilized in each message and define attributes about the respective messages, such as whether a current message is an interim or final message segment. Likewise, the provisioning service can divide a challenge key into multiple segments and include a control byte for each segment. The control byte within segmented messages enables utilization of the TPM public keys and thereby can leverage the heightened security provided by the TPM.

  • Patent number: 11379577
Abstract: Cybersecurity enhancements help avoid malicious Uniform Resource Locators (URLs). Embodiments may reduce or eliminate reliance on subjective analysis or detonation virtual machines. URL substrings are automatically analyzed for maliciousness using malice patterns. Patterns may test counts, lengths, rarity, encodings, and other inherent aspects of URLs. URLs may be analyzed individually, or in groups to detect shared portions, or both. URL analysis may use or avoid machine learning, and may use or avoid lookups. Malice patterns may be used individually or in combinations to detect malicious URLs. Analysis results may enhance security through blocking use of suspect URLs, flagging them for further analysis, or allowing their validated use, for instance. Analysis results may also be fed back to further train a machine learning model or a statistical model.

  • Patent number: 11379023
Abstract: Examples are disclosed that relate to methods, computing devices, and head-mounted display (HMD) devices for regulating a surface temperature of a device. In one example, a method comprises determining the surface temperature of a surface of the device, determining an energy accumulator value indicating cumulative energy received by a user via the surface of the device, and using a dynamic temperature limit function to calculate a temperature limit as a function of the energy accumulator value. The method also comprises comparing the surface temperature to the temperature limit. When the surface temperature has not reached the temperature limit, the method comprises incrementing the energy accumulator value. When the surface temperature has reached the temperature limit, the method comprises initiating a thermal mitigation action to cool the surface.
