Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for determining a hitch articulation angle including a camera for capturing a first image and a second image, a steering sensor configured to detect a steering angle, a velocity sensor configured to detect a vehicle velocity, a processor configured to for generating a bird's eye view of the first image and the second image through a perspective transform, generating a trailer hitch model from the first image in response to the steering angle and the vehicle velocity indicating a vehicle is traveling in a straight forward direction, generating a current hitch model from the second image, determining a hitch articulation angle in response to an angular difference between the trailer hitch model and the current hitch model, and a vehicle controller controlling the vehicle in response to the hitch articulation angle.

The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH011053, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH011053 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. Abstract: A system and method for generating vibrations in a fuel cell system include a vibration device which can be arranged on the fuel cell system or is formed by at least one component of the fuel cell system, for generating excitation vibrations which can be transmitted to the component. An electronic actuating system includes a controller and memory for actuating the vibration device, which may include a coolant pump or a compressor, at a natural frequency of a fuel system component for de-icing. At temperatures below 0° C., the electronic actuating system is adapted to actuate the vibration device during a switch-on process and/or a switch-off process of the fuel cell system taking into consideration at least one natural frequency of the component. Embodiments including actuating a compressor, cooling pump, and/or valve to transmit vibrations to a component to be de-iced at a natural frequency of the component.

Abstract: Methods, devices and systems are disclosed for improved depth perception in stereoscopic night vision devices. Among these are embodiments for aligning information overlays in the stereo view with associated objects, and for generating stereo information from single lenses or intensifiers. In some illustrative embodiments, a camera and position sensor are provided for at least two viewers, e.g., a pilot and a copilot, such that when a scene overlaps between viewers, the system produces a stereoptic scene, in which the users can more accurately determine a difference in depth between two or more distant objects. An illustrative binocular night vision system uses a high-resolution depth map to present binocular images to a user. In some embodiments, supplementary content can be overlaid, with an appropriate binocular disparity that is based on the depth map.

Abstract: A heating system for a windshield of a vehicle, in which a fan unit is configured to produce a hot air flow at the inner side of the windshield. In order to enable efficient heating of a windshield of an electric vehicle, there is provision for the heating system to have an at least predominantly transparent partition unit, which in a shielding position is secured in the vehicle in such a manner that it is arranged in the longitudinal vehicle direction between at least a predominant portion of the windshield and an inner region which is provided for passengers, whereby the hot air flow can be guided at least partially in a heating region between the windshield and the partition unit.
Abstract: Scrub resistant inks and methods and apparatus for fabrication and use thereof are provided. Scrub-resistant ink compositions may include a dye for marking skin; and a solvent dissolving a marking effective amount of the dye, wherein the solvent comprises about 0.1 to about 90 percent of a polar aprotic solvent. Apparatus for marking patients may include an ink reservoir; an ink dispenser having a fluid connection to the ink reservoir to dispense the ink at a desired rate to mark a patient; and a scrub resistant ink disposed in the ink reservoir. Methods for forming scrub-resistant ink compositions may include providing a marking effective amount of a dye suitable for use in marking skin; and mixing the dye with a first solvent comprising 0.1% to 90% of a polar aprotic solvent. Methods of marking patients may include applying an ink as recited above to a body part of the patient.
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for automatic generation of specifications for data access layer application programming interfaces (APIs). A server identifies an object-oriented data model comprising (i) a plurality of object structures containing one or more data elements and (ii) one or more relationships between at least two of the object structures. The server generates an API specification package using the object-oriented data model by identifying object structures to include in the API specification package, defining attributes for the API specification package, assigning data access operations to each identified object structure, creating data relationships between at least two of the identified object structures, and converting the identified object structures, the defined attributes for the API specification package, the assigned data access operations, and the created data relationships into one or more files that comprise the API specification package.

Abstract: The disclosed wearable devices may include a body shaped and sized to be worn against a user's skin, a flexible vibrotactile actuator positioned on or in the body, and a tunable stiffness material adjacent to the flexible haptic actuator. The flexible vibrotactile actuator may be in a location to transmit a haptic sensation to the user's skin when the body is worn by the user. The tunable stiffness material may have an adjustable stiffness such that adjustment of the stiffness of the tunable stiffness material alters a haptic sensation induced by the flexible haptic actuator against the user's skin. Abstract: Systems and methods of enhanced display and viewing of three dimensional (3D) tomographic data acquired in tomosynthesis or tomography. A set of projection data is acquired with an image acquisition system and used to reconstruct enhanced 3D volume renderings that are viewed with motion, advanced image processing or stereotactically to assist in medical diagnosis. Various enhancements are provided for further processing the images, thereby providing additional features and benefits during image viewing.
