Abstract: A connected-device network can continually learn from abstract sensory data (e.g., speech processing, cognitive inference, and/or computer vision image segmentation) and can generate never-seen-before data in real time. In one aspect, the network devices extract important correlations in the sensor data based on network data collected at different time slice and/or locations. Further, underlying relationships in a set of data can be detected as the sensor data transverses through different layers of the network. Moreover, the network devices can provide logic in different layers to help classify the sensor data early in the detection process (e.g., instead of waiting for it to reach its final destination).

Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for automatically obtaining a profile for a set of accelerator pedal position sensors in a target vehicle. The profile can comprise a correlation of the position of the pedal to an output signal for one or more sensor in the set of sensors. A pedal position sensor signal reader can be used to automatically detect signals from one or more pedal position sensor in the target vehicle's accelerator pedal, while the pedal is released, depressed, and moving between the released and depressed positions. A pedal profile can be automatically generated using the output signals and corresponding pedal positions. Obtained data can be used to program a speed control device for the target vehicle. Correlated output can be used to adjust the speed of the vehicle by sending an emulated signal to the ECM, which may adjust the speed control system.

Abstract: A furniture item comprises various components for assembly thereof. The furniture items include a substantially flat seat portion, a substantially flat back portion, connectors for securing the flat seat portion to the flat back portion, and a plurality of legs for attachment to the seat portion. Cushions are provided and may be configured to form barriers for use adjacent the seat portion and the back portion when packed in a container. Additionally, compressed and sealed cushions may also be provided to form barriers for use adjacent the seat portion and back portion when packed in a container.
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a stretch-wrapping machine with self-adjusting pinch rollers configured to reorient themselves to compensate for misalignment relative to their respective pre-stretch rollers. This ensures the pinch rollers press the entire width of the film against their respective pre-stretch rollers as the film is drawn through the rollers.

Abstract: A test script is divided into tests having a sequential order within the test script. An analysis tree of the tests can be generated. Each unique path through the analysis tree includes a subset of the tests as sequentially ordered within the test script. A maximally parallel subset of the unique paths that covers all the tests and according to which the tests are successfully executable is identified. Each test appears in only one unique path of the maximally parallel subset.
Abstract: Non-limiting examples of the present disclosure describe processing that generates intelligent inferences of authoring from analysis of attributes associated with a digital file being imported in an application/service. Examples described herein are configured to work with any type of application/service including an authoring application/service. For instance, a request to import a digital file is received in an application/service. The application/service may be configured to analyze the digital file and generate authoring inferences based on an analysis of attributes of the digital file. For example, a conversion data model may be utilized to identify a file type of the digital file, analyze attributes of the identified digital file (e.g. content portions, layout, formatting, metadata, etc.) and output file data in a format that is tailored for the application/service based on authoring inferences.

Abstract: A method of performing time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry on a sample includes the step of directing a beam of primary ions to the sample, and stimulating the migration of ions within the sample while the beam of primary ions is directed at the sample. The stimulation of the ions is cycled between a stimulation state and a lower stimulation state. Secondary ions emitted from the sample by the beam of primary ions are collected in a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry is then performed on the secondary ions. A system for performing time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry on a sample is also disclosed.

Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for multi-material decomposition for computed tomography. In one embodiment, a method comprises acquiring, via an imaging system, projection data for a plurality of x-ray spectra, estimating path lengths for a plurality of materials based on the projection data and calibration data for the imaging system, iteratively refining the estimated path lengths based on a linearized model derived from the calibration data, and reconstructing material-density images for each material of the plurality of materials from the iteratively-refined estimated path lengths. By determining path-length estimates in this way without modeling the physics of the imaging system, accurate material decomposition may be performed more quickly and with less sensitivity to changes in physics of the system, and furthermore may be extended to more than two materials.

Abstract: A modular armor system is provided. The modular armor system includes an encasement for holding one or more interior plate, thereby providing a variety of protection options. The encasement is moveable from an open configuration to a closed configuration. In the open configuration, a user can inspect plate conditions and configurations prior to using such system, thereby allowing the user to replace damaged plates and/or to change plate configurations. The system is configured to allow bullets to penetrate the encasement, thereby reducing impact to users while reducing shrapnel associated with bullet spalling. By including one or more penetrable, buffer, retaining, or other plate within the encasement, users can further decrease impact and/or other risks associated with the same.
Abstract: Access control for an ordered event stream (OES) storage system is disclosed. Access to a portion of an OES can be controlled at a key-level in relation to a key space of the OES. An application instance can be identified to enable determining a correspondence to one or more keys. The correspondence can be embodied in stored data, for example, via an advanced access control list (AACL) that can be in the form of a list, a table, etc. Application instance access to the portion of the OES can be controlled by determining if an access rule is satisfied, e.g., determining if the key space the application instance wants to access comports with the one or more keys corresponding to the application instance identity. In an aspect, screening data corresponding to the AACL can enable preliminary access screening external to the OES storage system.
