  • Patent number: 11265772
Abstract: Methods and apparatus used to facilitate preparation of one or more target base stations for possible UE handoffs, e.g., conditional handoffs, which may or may not occur depending on whether or not various handoff conditions are satisfied are described. A handoff message, e.g., a conditional handoff message, including a validity time is generated and sent to each selected target base stations to which a UE may be handed off. The validity time indicates to the target base station a time window, e.g., a time duration for which the handoff target message is to be considered valid. In response to the handoff message, the target base station, receiving the handoff message, allocates resources to the UE and starts a countdown validity timer based on the indicated length of the validity time. When the validity timer expires without handoff to the target base station, the target base station releases the allocated resources.

  • Patent number: 11262405
Abstract: The present disclosure describes an apparatus, system, and method of use for detecting electrical faults in a multiphase electric machine. Often in platforms which require redundant reliability or have no readily available electrical connection to earth use ungrounded electrical architectures. This allows the system to continue normal operation even if there is an unintended short circuit or current path (electrical fault) between a phase of an electric machine and its case or some other part of the platform. It is important to be able to readily identify any fault in the phase windings of machinery operating in an ungrounded electrical architecture. Since a single fault in an ungrounded system will not cause any additional current draw or otherwise affect the system, it can be difficult to detect that a fault has even occurred. This provides an advanced warning system.

  • Patent number: 11263202
Abstract: Scalable implementations of exact distinct counts and multiple exact distinct counts in distributed query processing systems are implemented via systems and devices. Distinct counts and multiple exact distinct counts for identifiers/values are performed based on keys. For distinct counts, datasets including data fields are sorted by values of fields and divided into balanced partitions in distributed servers. Subsets of fields with the same value are partitioned together. Key presence is determined for subsets on each partition, and the number of instances for the key are aggregated for exact distinct counts of values. For multiple distinct counts, fields of a dataset are combined by un-pivoting field columns. Compound keys are generated for combined fields from field identifiers of the combined fields and values of another field. Totals of unique values of the combined fields are determined for values in the counted field based on the compound keys.

  • Patent number: 11265374
Abstract: Maintaining versions of data from a storage system includes detecting that a snapshot of the data has been performed at the storage device, transferring a previous version of the data to a cloud storage, and prohibiting deletion of the snapshot until the previous version of the data has been completely transferred to the cloud storage. The data may be a volume on the storage system. The cloud storage may be public cloud storage or part of a private network. The cloud storage may be accessible from any location via the World Wide Web. A connection between the storage device and the cloud storage may be provided by the Internet, a TCP/IP network, a dedicated connection, or a FICON connection. The snapshot may store a log entry in a log device corresponding to a particular point-in-time version of the data prior to data being written to the storage device.

  • Patent number: 11262048
Abstract: An illumination system can produce a dynamically variable illumination pattern. The illumination system can include a light guide. The illumination system can include projection optics, which can contribute to the illumination pattern at relatively low beam angles (i.e., beam angles formed with respect to a surface normal of the light guide). The projection optics can include individually addressable light-producing elements that can direct light through one or more focusing elements. A controller can control which of the light-producing elements are electrically powered and can therefore control the illumination pattern contribution from the projection optics. The illumination system can also include scattering optics, which can contribute to the illumination pattern at relatively high beam angles. The scattering optics can direct light out of the light guide over a relatively large surface area, which can help reduce glare when the light guide is viewed directly.
