Abstract: In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to automatically balance and buffer the return of empty containers or other totes to a plurality of areas. In some embodiments, a control circuit employs a logic system in which empty totes are directed along primary, secondary, or tertiary paths depending on information gathered from sensors regarding the availability of space for empty totes at a plurality of potential destinations. In this way, the return of empty totes to one or more points of origin may be buffered to balance the number of empty totes in one or more areas.

Abstract: A bottle-style reel for bow-fishing and the like provides a retriever bottle that is tipped out of the vertical plane defined by the crank axis and the rotation of interengaging wheels that grip the fishing line and push it into the retriever bottle. In this way the retriever mechanism of the interengaging wheels can be aligned with the bow grip for reduced torque and simplified mounting.

A computing device stores reference song characterization data and receives digital audio data. The computing device determines whether the digital audio data represents music and then performs a different process to recognize that the digital audio data represents a particular reference song. The computing device then outputs an indication of the particular reference song.

Abstract: A medical device or catheter management system comprises several layers where a top layer has one or more channels to receive one or more elongated medical devices or members and a bottom layer comprises adhesive to secure the catheter management system to a patient or other secure site in the operating field. A firm upper surface causes the elongated medical devices or members to stay in the channels, whereas a firm inner layer facilitates maintaining the shape of the catheter management system and providing resistance for an operator to easily release an elongated medical device or member.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an electronic cooling device includes an inlet port to receive cooling liquid from an external cooling liquid source. The cooling device further includes a base cooling unit having a first liquid distribution channel therein. The base cooling unit includes a cooling plate that forms a lower surface to be positioned on a top surface of one or more electronic devices to extract heat from the devices through the cooling plate using at least a portion of the cooling liquid from the external cooling liquid source. The cooling device further includes an upper cooling unit having a second liquid distribution channel to extract heat from air contacting the upper cooling unit using at least a portion of the cooling liquid received from the external cooling liquid source. The cooling device further includes an outlet port to return the cooling liquid to the external cooling liquid source. Internal fluid channel structural design can be used and customized for different applications and use cases.

Abstract: Some variations provide a reworkable ionomer composition comprising: a polymer containing a plurality of ionic monomers disposed in a chain backbone of the polymer, wherein the ionic monomers have a monomer charge polarity that is either positive or negative; and a plurality of ionic species disposed within the chain backbone of the polymer, wherein the ionic species have opposite charge polarity compared to the monomer charge polarity, wherein the ionic species and the ionic monomers are ionically bonded, and wherein the ionic species are capable of undergoing a reversible oxidation-state transition of at least +1 or ?1 when in the presence of a redox reagent. The polymer may be selected from the group consisting of polyurethanes, polyacrylates, polyamides, polyesters, polyureas, polyurethane-ureas, polysiloxanes, polycarbonates, and combinations thereof. Many options for ionic monomers and ionic species are disclosed.

Abstract: An example method involves determining an expected demand level for a first type of a plurality of types of transport tasks for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the first type of transport tasks associated with a first payload type. Each of the UAVs is physically reconfigurable between at least a first and a second configuration corresponding to the first payload type and a second payload type, respectively. The method also involves determining based on the expected demand level for the first type of transport tasks, (i) a first number of UAVs having the first configuration and (ii) a second number of UAVs having the second configuration. The method further involves, at or near a time corresponding to the expected demand level, providing one or more UAVs to perform the transport tasks, including at least the first number of UAVs.

Abstract: A drywall kit is provided including a wall frame, a drywall section, and a cabinet. The wall frame includes a top plate, a bottom plate, and a plurality of vertical studs. A first vertical stud includes a first hole and a first bolt screwed into the first hole. A second vertical stud includes a second hole and a second bolt screwed into the second hole. The drywall section includes a third hole which aligns with the first hole and a fourth hole which aligns with the second hole. The cabinet includes a back panel. The back panel includes a fifth hole which aligns with the first hole and a sixth hole which aligns with the second hole. The cabinet and the drywall section are secured to the wall frame via the first bolt and the second bolt. A method of installation is also provided.

Abstract: According to a novel fabrication method, a new composition of matter includes a large percentage (e.g., 75% or higher percentage) of primary nanoparticles in the new composition of matter. The novel fabrication method reduces the size of nanoparticle clusters in material of the new composition of matter, allows fabrication of specific nanoparticle cluster sizes, and allows fabrication of primary nanoparticles. This new composition of matter can include a high permittivity and high resistivity dielectric compound. This new composition of matter, according to certain examples, has high permittivity, high resistivity, and low leakage current. In certain examples, the new composition of matter constitutes a dielectric energy storage device that is a battery with very high energy density, high operating voltage per cell, and an extended battery life cycle.

Abstract: A high frequency attenuating device for an air flow induction system of a vehicle employing a thermoformed fibrous mat of any shape that fits robustly inside the duct. The dissipative nature of the fibrous mat helps in achieving broadband attenuation in the high frequency regime. The ability to manufacture the fibrous mat into any shape helps with restriction, targets different attenuation bands, and makes it more feasible to manufacture. Hybrid solutions are possible when combined with low frequency perforated silencers or high frequency QWT arrays injection molded onto them.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to notification systems and methods for providing a notification of detected prohibited behavior to a user device that is estimated to be nearest to a particular location. In aspects of the present disclosure, a notification system includes at least one sensor configured to sense measurements indicative of a prohibited behavior, a wireless device passive monitor, a processor, and a memory having stored thereon instructions. The instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the notification system to detect an occurrence of the prohibited behavior based on the sensed measurements, estimate which user device from a predetermined list of user devices is a nearest user device to the wireless device passive monitor, and provide a notification to the estimated nearest user device regarding the detected occurrence of the prohibited behavior.

Abstract: A gear shifting technique has been developed in which modulation and equalization are shifted to achieve optional performance. In one form, two or more equalizers, each associated with a demodulator and message decoder, determine if the modulation being used can be increased in complexity in order to increase the channel throughput or determine if the modulation method should be reduced in complexity in order to improve the receiver error performance. The quality metrics can based on which equalizer-demodulator-decoder is set to first detect a valid message. Other factors can be considered with this technique such as a packet-error ratio and a signal-to-noise ratio. In a financial trading system, message erasures can be favored over errored messages by limiting the number of bit or symbol corrections permitted per message to less than the maximum possible for the selected decoding schemes.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include tracking (1) a position of a primary real-world object within a real-world environment via a primary tracking method, and (2) a position of a secondary real-world object within the real-world environment via a secondary tracking method. The method may further include presenting (1) a primary virtual object at a position within an artificial environment corresponding to the tracked position of the primary real-world object, and (2) a secondary virtual object at a position within the artificial environment corresponding to the tracked position of the secondary real-world object. The method may further include (1) detecting an interaction of the primary real-world object with the secondary real-world object, and (2) transitioning to tracking the position of the primary real-world object via the secondary tracking method. Abstract: Elements in an artificial reality environment (e.g., objects or volumes) can be assigned different ray casting rules. In response to detecting a corresponding trigger, such as the user entering the volume or interacting with the object, the ray casting rules associated with that element can be implemented. Implementing the ray casting rules can control aspects of the ray such as the ray's shape, size, effects of the ray, where a ray originates, whether the ray is directed along a particular plane, or how rays are controlled. In some cases, an artificial reality system can cast multiple rays at the same time, which are controlled by the same feature of a user. Using priority rules (e.g., weighting factors, hierarchies, filters, etc.), the artificial reality system can determine which ray is primary, allowing the user to use the primary ray to interact with elements.
