Publication number: 20220033571Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass a variety of polymers derived from polycyclic olefin monomers, such as hydrocarbon functionalized norbomenes. The polymers so formed function as ionomers and are suitable as anion exchange membrane for fabricating a variety of electrochemical devices, among others. More specifically, the ionomeric polymers used herein are derived from a variety of quaternized amino functionalized norbornene monomers and are lightly crosslinked (less than ten mol %). The membranes made therefrom exhibit very high ionic conductivity of up to 198 mS/cm at 80° C. This invention also relates to using an anion conducting solid polymer electrolyte as the ion conducting medium between the two electrodes and the ion conducting medium within the electrodes acting as the ionic conduit between electroactive material and electrolyte. The electrochemical devices made in accordance of this invention are useful as fuel cells, gas separators, and the like.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 30, 2021Publication date: February 3, 2022Applicants: PROMERUS, LLC, GEORGIA TECH RESEARCH CORPORATIONInventors: PAUL A KOHL, MRINMAY MANDAL, MATTHEW L BARCHOK, DOUG SKILSKYJ, LARRY F RHODES

Publication number: 20220031251Abstract: A communicative water bottle includes communication logic and wireless transmission logic technology electronically connected with a variety of sensors either on the water bottle or located remote from the water bottle. The sensors on the bottle create digital data associated with amount of fluid in the bottle and change thereof. The sensors remote from the bottle, which can be on an activity tracker, create digital data associated with an activity being performed by a user, such as running, or the absence of activity, such as remaining sedentary. A display on the bottle can indicate to the user the amount of fluid consumed or a reminder that fluid should be consumed. The fluid consumption data syncs with other remote devices such as mobile applications executable on smartphones.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2021Publication date: February 3, 2022Applicant: Xennial IP LLCInventors: Kathryn A.
