Abstract: An approach is disclosed that involves creating an updated master dental model of a patient's mouth after an implant surgery by aligning new postoperative oral scan data to pre-existing preoperative oral scan data. Before surgery a multi-piece stackable surgical guide set is created using the preoperative oral scan data. The surgical guide set is used to facilitate the surgery. After the surgery at least one piece of the surgical guide set is placed back in a patient's mouth and acts as a reference marker because it was created using the preoperative oral scan data, but is also part of the postoperative mouth configuration since it was used to facilitate the surgery. The affected portion of the mouth is digitally scanned by way of a physical impression with the reference marker in place to determine the new characteristics resulting from the surgery such as new implant installation locations and orientations.

Abstract: A fiber optic cable assembly includes a fiber optic cable and a fiber optic connector. The cable includes a jacket having an elongated transverse cross-sectional profile that defines a major axis and a minor axis. Strength components of the cable are anchored to the connector. The fiber optic connector includes a multi-fiber ferrule defining a major axis that is generally perpendicular to the major axis of the jacket and a minor axis that is generally perpendicular to the minor axis of the jacket. Certain types of connectors include a connector body defining a side opening that extends along a length of the connector body; a multi-fiber ferrule configured for lateral insertion into the connector body through the side opening; and a cover that mounts over the side opening after the multi-fiber ferrule has been inserted into the connector body through the side opening.

Abstract: An apparatus that at least assists in maintaining a lever or knob of a lock device in a relatively neutral and static position. The apparatus includes a biasing element that can be constructed from a compliant material that may at least assist in reducing impact forces between interfacing surfaces at least when the lever or knob is returns to the neutral, static position from one or more activated positions. The compliant nature of the damper can further alleviate issues relating to manufacturing tolerances and wear between interfacing surfaces.

Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein enable training and/or utilizing speaker dependent (SD) speech models which are personalizable to any user of a client device. Various implementations include personalizing a SD speech model for a target user by processing, using the SD speech model, a speaker embedding corresponding to the target user along with an instance of audio data. The SD speech model can be personalized for an additional target user by processing, using the SD speech model, an additional speaker embedding, corresponding to the additional target user, along with another instance of audio data. Additional or alternative implementations include training the SD speech model based on a speaker independent speech model using teacher student learning.

Abstract: A Continuous Phase Frequency Shift Keying modulator provided to receive a series of binary symbols having a predetermined repetition period, and generate a series of sinusoidal signals comprising in sequence: a first sinusoidal signal with a first frequency in response to each received binary symbol having a first binary value; and a second sinusoidal signal with a second frequency in response to a received binary symbol having a second binary value, where the lowest of the first and second frequencies is larger than or equal to a third of the symbol rate; wherein the sinusoidal signals are shortened or lengthened with respect to the binary symbol they respond to, such that each first sinusoidal signal comprises an integer number of half periods of said first frequency and each second sinusoidal signal comprises an integer number of half periods of said second frequency.

Abstract: Invoking one or more previously dormant functions of an automated assistant in response to detecting, based on processing of vision data from one or more vision components: (1) a particular gesture (e.g., of one or more “invocation gestures”) of a user; and/or (2) detecting that a gaze of the user is directed at an assistant device that provides an automated assistant interface (graphical and/or audible) of the automated assistant. For example, the previously dormant function(s) can be invoked in response to detecting the particular gesture, detecting that the gaze of the user is directed at an assistant device for at least a threshold amount of time, and optionally that the particular gesture and the directed gaze of the user co-occur or occur within a threshold temporal proximity of one another.

Abstract: A video analyzer measures and outputs a visual indication of a dynamic range of a video signal. The video analyzer includes a video input to receive the video signal and a cumulative distribution function generator generates a cumulative distribution function curve from a component of the video signal. A feature detector generates one or more feature vectors from the cumulative distribution function curve and a video dynamic range generator produces a visual output indicating a luminance of one or more portions of the video signal.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for characterizing variants of interest and predicting assignments of individuals to communities based on obtained genetic information. To characterize a variant, DNA datasets of reference individuals are accessed and used to generate a cluster with additional individuals. Reference individuals carry a variant at a genetic locus and the additional individuals share IBD with reference individuals. Statistics of genealogical data of the cluster are generated. A result summarizing the characterization of the variant is generated based on the statistics. To determine if an individual belongs to a community, a subset of the individual's haplotypes are inputted into a community-specific model. The model is trained using the training samples that each include haplotypes of reference individuals and a label identifying whether the reference individual belongs to the community. Based on the output of the model, it is determined whether the individual is a member of the community.

Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a message ordering system for processing and synchronizing chat messages in partitions to maintain messaging order and load balancing in a distributed system at scale. Messages are placed in partitions based on session identifiers (IDs). Messaging order is secured by a session receiver holding a lock over particular partitions. Receivers having subscription to messages in service bus are enabled to terminate on occurrence of a predetermined event, such as threshold wait time without receiving additional messages with a selected session ID from their partitions, activity level on a node, number of receivers on a node or other metrics. Session ID locks are released after a session ends, a receiver terminates or a node crashes for failure handling. New receivers are created to handle new incoming messages for additional load balancing and/or failover.

Abstract: A video recording system improves the control and monitoring of body worn cameras, such as those worn by police. The system may communicate through a private radio network. Operation of cameras and other controlled devices are configured by a system controller. Events of interest may be recorded, may initiate or restrict system functions, and may be collected for evaluating system efficacy and policy compliance. Body worn cameras of the system begin recording video upon being disconnected from a camera dock. A mobile device may be associated with the camera and have a recording management application. The controller may synchronize settings for the camera with the recording management application, and the mobile device has no administrative control over the application.

Abstract: Systems and methods for instantiating collaboration interfaces via object recognition are disclosed. An object recognition engine communicatively coupled to a database and an electronic device receives sensor data related to an object and identifies an object characteristic. A component is selected having criteria satisfied by the object characteristic and a collaboration interface is instantiated on the electronic device. This can allow a user to edit content related to an object. A substantially identical collaboration interface can be instantiated on a second electronic device to allow collaboration among user with respect to content related to the object.

Abstract: A device includes an analog current division circuit configured to divide an input current into a first current and a second current, and a multiplexer array including a plurality of switches to provide the first current to a first of three colors of LEDs and the second current to a second of three colors of LEDs simultaneously during a first portion of a period, the first current to the second of three colors of LEDs and the second current to a third of three colors of LEDs simultaneously during a second portion of the period, and the first current to the first of three colors of LEDs and the second current to the third of three colors of LEDs simultaneously during a third portion of the period.

Abstract: A system for facilitating a plurality of virtual transmission control protocol connections between a target application and a source application is provided. The system includes a server proxy, a client proxy, and a network protection interposed between the server proxy and the client proxy. The server proxy is configured to receive an open request from the client proxy via a stateless protocol, including a target identifier, the open request originating from the source application, open a connection between the server proxy and the target application based on the target identifier, provide a response to the client proxy indicating a status of the open request, the response including at least one of a session identifier and a sequence identifier, receive, a data request from the client proxy, including the session identifier and an incremented sequence identifier, and provide the data request to the target application.

Abstract: A system for managing material accumulation relative to an agricultural implement may include a ground engaging tool supported on an agricultural implement and an infrared sensor having a field of view directed towards the ground engaging tool. The infrared sensor may be configured to generate data indicative of a temperature gradient of field materials at the ground engaging tool. A controller of the system may be communicatively coupled to the infrared sensor. The controller may monitor the data received from the infrared sensor and determine a presence of material accumulation relative to the ground engaging tool based at least in part on the temperature gradient of the field materials at the ground engaging tool.

Abstract: A handheld appliance for emitting steam to treat a fabric has a housing, a water reservoir, a pump, and a steam generator operatively connected to the pump. The housing has an annular steam emitting head having a hole passing through the steam head. The steam head has an outlet with a shape surrounding the hole so that steam inside the steam head is emitted out of the steam head through the outlet around the hole. A handheld appliance for emitting steam to treat a fabric also has a housing having a water reservoir, a pump, a steam generator operatively connected to the pump, and an outlet. The steam generator forms a steam path that has a first layer that extends from an inlet into the steam generator on a first side of a heater to a second layer that is on a second side of the heater opposite to the first layer.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and a controller for controlling generation of geothermal power in an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) operation in the vicinity of a wellhead during hydrocarbon production to thereby supply electrical power to one or more of in-field operational equipment, a grid power structure, and an energy storage device. In an embodiment, during hydrocarbon production, a temperature of a flow of wellhead fluid from the wellhead or working fluid may be determined. If the temperature is above a vaporous phase change threshold of the working fluid, heat exchanger valves may be opened to divert flow of wellhead fluid to heat exchangers to facilitate heat transfer from the flow of wellhead fluid to working fluid through the heat exchangers, thereby to cause the working fluid to change from a liquid to vapor, the vapor to cause a generator to generate electrical power via rotation of an expander.

Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for identifying a co-applicant based on proximity to an applicant. In an embodiment, a processor determines a location of the applicant, and identifies a plurality of potential co-applicants that are collocated with the location of the applicant. For each respective potential co-applicant of the plurality of potential co-applicants, the processor determines whether a respective edge exists on a graph that connects the applicant with the respective potential co-applicant, and, responsive to determining that the respective edge exists, identifies the respective potential co-applicant as a candidate co-applicant. The processor generates for display, on a device of the applicant, a selectable option that, when selected, indicates that the applicant would like to use the candidate co-applicant as a co-applicant for an application. Responsive to detecting a selection of the selectable option, the processor activates the application at a device of the candidate co-applicant.

Abstract: An artificial turf field system is provided. The system may include a plurality of synthetic turf strands attached to a backing layer and an infill material positioned between the synthetic turf stands. The infill material may include a plurality of porous particles. A sub-layer may be included beneath the backing layer, and may be formed of a resilient material. A support layer may be included beneath the sub-layer, and may include materials configured for drainage. The porous particles of the infill material may include porous ceramic particles and the sub-layer may include rubber. The porous particles may be at least partially coated, for example, by a polymer coating. The infill material may be free of sand and/or crumb rubber.
