  • Patent number: 11223623
Abstract: There are disclosed techniques for use in providing security in a computer network. In one embodiment, the techniques comprise a method including multiple steps. The method comprises receiving user access data characterizing user access with a protected resource within a computer network. The method also comprises evaluating the user access data to extract information therefrom that describes user access with respect to a feature of user access. The method also comprises determining a cardinality value in connection with the feature based on the extracted information and a maximum cardinality threshold. It should be appreciated that the cardinality value is limited by the maximum cardinality threshold such that the cardinality value cannot exceed the maximum cardinality threshold. The method also comprises presenting the cardinality value for facilitating fraud detection.

  • Patent number: 11223196
Abstract: A fault-preventing circuit recloser includes a ballast impedance, power line current and voltage monitors, and controller that operates the switch based on measurements obtained from the current and voltage monitors. The controller aborts the closing (i.e., reopens the switch) when the controller detects that the switch has closed into faulted line. The circuit recloser temporarily introduces the ballast impedance into the circuit during the closing operation to limit the current spike and voltage dip caused by initially closing the switch into the faulted line. The circuit recloser also temporarily introduces the ballast impedance into the circuit during the opening operation to limit the voltage transient that can be caused by initially opening a load-carrying power line. Different ballast resistor insertion times are applied depending on the type of recloser operation (opening or closing) and whether a fault is detected.

  • Patent number: 11221193
Abstract: A firearm accessory is operable in two modes. A first mode in which the firearm accessory is coupled, at least indirectly, to a firearm to define a foregrip. In the first mode, a blade on the accessory is in a sheathed position. A second mode in which the firearm is disconnected from the firearm to define a knife. In the second mode, the blade is in an extended position. In each mode and position, the tip of the blade is vertically above the upper end of the grip body. The firearm accessory has prongs that connect the grip body to an attachment mechanism or coupler. Within the coupler are flexible liner locks that have sloped protrusions that engage recess in the blade to lock the blade in the extend position. The liner locks may be flexibly unlocked by depressing a button carried by the grip body.

  • Patent number: 11222337
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for authenticating mobile payments from a customer account to a merchant. The systems and methods may include a financial service provider receiving a request to authorize an electronic transaction at a point-of-sale. A financial service provider server computer may verify that the customer is present at the point-of-sale using received location data. An image having distorted text such as a captcha may be transmitted to a device at the point-of-sale, and the customer may read the captcha aloud. A voice sample of the customer may be sent to the financial service provider for comparison to stored voice recordings, to verify that the customer's voice sample is authentic if the voice matches a previously generated voice recording for the account. If the voice sample is authentic, the financial service provider may authorize the mobile payment.

  • Patent number: 11223537
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer readable mediums for executing scripts within migrated hosts. The system enables a user to generate a task to execute a script on a host after the host has been migrated from a first data center to a second data center. This task may identify the host using a first ID of the host on the first data center. The host may be migrated to the second data center, with the host being identified on the second data center using a second ID. The system stores a correlation between the first ID and the second ID of the host. The system utilizes the second ID to retrieve a third ID for communicating with the host on the second data center to cause the host to execute the script on the second data center.

  • Patent number: 11223447
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a multiple detector data channel and data detection utilizing different cost functions. For example, a digital data channel system can have multiple data detectors where each data detector implements a distinct cost function for detecting data. A cost function analyzer can then selectively choose decisions from the multiple data detectors to generate a data sequence. In some examples, a dual detector system may have one detector implement a Soft-Output Viterbi Algorithm (SOVA) cost function and another detector implement a peak detection algorithm. Further, in some embodiments, the cost function analyzer can implement multiple selection criteria to determine which decisions to include in a data sequence from the multiple data detectors.

  • Patent number: 11220646
Abstract: The coal-derived solid hydrocarbon particles are discrete particles of coal-derived carbonaceous matter having a particle size less than about 10 ?m that are substantially free of inherent or entrained mineral matter. The particles of have an average particle size in the range from 1 ?m to 8 ?m. The particles of coal-derived carbonaceous matter are milled to a size approximately the same as a size of coal-derived mineral matter inherent in the coal source to release inherent coal-derived mineral matter particles such that the particles of carbonaceous matter and the particles of mineral matter are discrete and separable solid particles. Following separation, less than 1.5 wt. % discrete coal-derived mineral matter particles are associated with the discrete particles of coal-derived carbonaceous matter. Particles of coal-derived solid hydrocarbon matter are blended with a gaseous or liquid hydrocarbon fuel to form a two-phase hydrocarbon fuel feedstock.
