  • Patent number: 11221444
Abstract: The selection of starting materials used in the process of forming an MCR is controlled to specifically define the physical properties of the core tube and/or the capillary tubes in the local vicinity of the core tube. The physical properties are considered to include, but are not limited to, the diameter of a given tube/capillary, its wall thickness, and its geometry (e.g., circular, non-circular). A goal is to select starting materials with physical properties that yield a final hollow core optical fiber with a “uniform” core region (for the purposes of the present invention, a “uniform” core region is one where the struts of cladding periodic array surrounding the central core are uniform in length and thickness (with the nodes between the struts thus being uniformly spaced apart), which yields a core wall of essentially uniform thickness and circularity.

  • Publication number: 20220007451
Abstract: Wireless networks may have thousands of configurable parameters, so manual tuning is infeasible. A self-organizing network (SON) can provide automation. However, automated algorithms are not designed to interact with a wireless network, and network experimentation can jeopardize reliability. To address the former, a SON facilitator of a wireless network management node exposes an API that can translate network configuration information for consumption by a SON enhancer, which may implement an AI algorithm for network tuning. The SON facilitator can also transform output from the SON enhancer into directions for controlling a test scenario, including generating a DL SON message describing the test to a UE. To further increase reliability during the test scenario, the UE can be provisioned with two wireless connections. A first connection is unchanged by the test scenario for stability, and a second connection is used for testing.

  • Publication number: 20220007453
Abstract: During operation, a radio node may provide, at a transmit time during a first time interval, a first instance of a keep-alive message to a computer. Then, the radio node may receive, at a receive time prior to a first instance of a transmit expire time, an instance of a keep-alive response from the computer, where the instance of the keep-alive response authorizes the radio node to transmit in a granted portion of the spectrum until a second instance of the transmit expire time has elapsed. Moreover, the radio node may determine, based at least in part on the receive time and the first instance of the transmit expire time, an updated transmit time. Next, the radio node may provide, at the updated transmit time, which is prior to the second instance of the transmit expire time, a second instance of the keep-alive message addressed to the computer.

  • Publication number: 20220001886
Abstract: Example embodiments described in this disclosure are generally directed to using a vehicle to identify a status of a garage door, such as, for identifying whether the garage door is fully closed, fully open, or partially open. The identification may be carried out in response to an inquiry from an individual, such as, a driver of the vehicle that has exited through the garage door. A detection apparatus such as an image capture system or an ultrasonic sensor that can be a part of a vehicle security system may be used for identifying the status of the garage door. The image capture system may capture and store an image of the garage door when the vehicle is exiting the garage. Upon receiving an inquiry from the driver, the garage door status detection system may display the image on a smartphone of the driver or an infotainment system in the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20220002453
Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass compositions comprising a organopalladium compound, a photoacid generator, a photosensitizer, one or more olefinic monomers and a stabilizer, such as for example a hindered amine, which undergo vinyl addition polymerization when said composition is exposed to a suitable actinic radiation to form a substantially transparent film. The compositions of this invention are stable at room temperature for several days to several months and can also be stored at higher temperatures from about 40° C. to 60° C. for several days and undergo mass polymerization only when subjected to suitable actinic radiation. The monomers employed therein have a range of optical and mechanical properties, and thus these compositions can be tailored to form films having various opto-electronic properties.

  • Publication number: 20220007410
Abstract: A wireless device may receive, via a first control resource set (coreset) with a first coreset group index, downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission. The wireless device may determine that a first quasi co-location (QCL) of the PDSCH transmission is different from a second QCL of a second coreset that overlaps in at least one symbol with the PDSCH transmission, and that the first coreset group index is the same as a second coreset group index of the second coreset. Based on the determining, the wireless device may receive the PDSCH transmission with the second QCL of the second coreset.

  • Publication number: 20220005457
Abstract: An end-to-end deep-learning-based system that can solve both ASR and TTS problems jointly using unpaired text and audio samples is disclosed herein. An adversarially-trained approach is used to generate a more robust independent TTS neural network and an ASR neural network that can be deployed individually or simultaneously. The process for training the neural networks includes generating an audio sample from a text sample using the TTS neural network, then feeding the generated audio sample into the ASR neural network to regenerate the text. The difference between the regenerated text and the original text is used as a first loss for training the neural networks. A similar process is used for an audio sample. The difference between the regenerated audio and the original audio is used as a second loss. Text and audio discriminators are similarly used on the output of the neural network to generate additional losses for training.

  • Publication number: 20220004503
Abstract: Systems and methods of tracking page state changes are provided. An input/output is communicatively coupled to a host having a memory. The I/O device receives a command from the host to monitor page state changes in a region of the memory allocated to a process. The I/O device, bypassing a CPU of the host, modifies data stored in the region based on a request, for example, received from a client device via a computer network. The I/O device records the modification to a bitmap by setting a bit in the bitmap that corresponds to a location of the data in the memory. The I/O device transfers contents of the bitmap to the CPU, wherein the CPU completes the live migration by copying sections of the first region indicated by the bitmap to a second region of memory. In some implementations, the process can be a virtual machine, a user space application, or a container.
