  • Patent number: 11215602
Abstract: A solution for evaluating a medium using electrical signals is described. A plurality of electrical signals having different frequencies are transmitted through the medium and signal data corresponding to the electrical signals after having traveled through the medium is acquired. A complex impedance and a complex permittivity and/or complex conductivity can be calculated for the medium. A set of characteristics of the medium can be computed using mixing models and/or known information of the medium. A level of one or more attributes of the medium can be determined from the characteristics using nonparametric Bayesian inference. • Patent number: 11215867
Abstract: A multi-spectral lens comprises a circular polarizer and a tunable cholesteric filter having an associated reflection band. Incoming light is circularly polarized to one handedness by the circular polarizer, and the tunable cholesteric filter transmits the circularly polarized light and reflects the opposite handedness of the circularly polarized light if within the reflection band of the filter, with the reflection band of the tunable cholesteric filter varying with a control voltage. In a preferred embodiment, a mirror is arranged to receive light transmitted by the tunable cholesteric filter and reflect it back towards the filter with flipped handedness, with the reflected light with flipped handedness that is within the reflection band of the tunable cholesteric filter reflected by the tunable cholesteric filter back toward the mirror. The architecture described effectively converts the reflection band of a tunable cholesteric filter into a tunable bandpass filter for a multi-spectral imaging lens.

  • Patent number: 11219076
Abstract: One or more elements of a communication system receives a first indicator that a first wireless device is within a first coverage area of a first access node and is also within a second coverage area of a second access node. The first access node and the second access node are both configured to provide a multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) operating mode. The communication system determines a first number of wireless devices attached to the first access node that are utilizing the MU-MIMO operating mode. The communication system identifies the first wireless devices as being configured as a relay node. The communication system, based on the first number meeting a first threshold, instructs the first wireless device to attach to the second access node.
