Abstract: A battery system includes a battery frame, a battery module, and a polymeric seat. The battery frame includes a horizontal bottom plate and a plurality of members that extend in a vertical direction from the bottom plate. The battery module includes at least one battery cell enclosed inside body of the battery module. The battery module also includes an attachment surface fixedly attached to the body and one or more supports that extend downward from to the body. The attachment surface is fixedly attached to one or more of plurality of members to generate a force on the one or more supports in a direction of the bottom plate. The polymeric seat is fixedly attached to either the one or more supports or the battery frame and removably contacts the other of the one or more supports or the battery frame. The polymeric seat is compressed in response to the force.

Abstract: A system that detects temperature and current events in a power grid is provided. The system includes a magnetic field sensor associated with an electric meter, a first temperature sensor associated with the electric meter, a plurality of bus bars connected to the electric meter and at least one temperature sensor uniquely associated with each of the plurality of bus bars. The system detects a magnetic field and compares the detected magnetic field to an expected magnetic field threshold or magnetic field threshold range to provide a magnetic field comparison result and the system detects a plurality of temperatures and compares the detected plurality of temperatures to expected temperature thresholds or temperature threshold ranges to provide a temperature comparison result. The system determines if a notification should be sent based on the magnetic field comparison result and/or the temperature comparison result.
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for a health monitoring service that monitors a system with a set of services executing across a set of one or more datacenters. For each of multiple services monitored by the health monitoring service, the method (1) contacts an API exposed by the service to provide health monitoring data for the service and (2) receives health monitoring data for the service that provides, for each of multiple aspects of the service, (i) a status and (ii) an explanation for the status in a uniform format used by the APIs of each of the services. At least two different services provide health monitoring data in the uniform format for different groups of aspects of the services.
Abstract: There is disclosed in an example a gateway device, including a hardware computing platform, and a secure domain name system (DNS) engine having circuitry and stored instructions to-program the circuitry, the secure DNS engine to communicatively couple to an endpoint via a local network, begin a secure DNS transaction with the endpoint, determine whether the endpoint supports delegated credentials, and after determining that the endpoint supports delegated credentials, establish a secure DNS session with the endpoint using a delegated credential.
Abstract: An energy storage system for a building includes a battery asset configured to store electricity and discharge the stored electricity for use in satisfying a building electric load. The system includes a planning tool configured to identify one or more selected functionalities of the energy storage system and generate a cost function defining a cost of operating the energy storage system over an optimization period. The cost function includes a term for each of the selected functionalities. The planning tool is configured to generate optimization constraints based on the selected functionalities, attributes of the battery asset, and the electric energy load to be satisfied. The planning tool is configured to optimize the cost function to determine optimal power setpoints for the battery asset at each of a plurality of time steps of the optimization period.

Abstract: A joint sealing system for prefabricated building components is provided. The joint sealing system includes a first component including a first surface, and a second component including a second surface that is mateable with the first surface. The first and second surfaces define a joint. A sealant composition is disposed on one of the first surface or the second surface. Pressure exerted when the second surface is mated with the first surface triggers curing of the sealant composition to join the first and second components and to seal the joint between the first and second components. A method of joining and sealing two prefabricated building components is also provided.
Abstract: A compressed natural gas (CNG) metering and regulation station includes a primary skid frame comprised of a first plurality of steel members while a secondary skid frame is comprised of a second plurality of steel members that are reconfigurable using brackets for attaching to the first plurality of steel members. The station includes both infra-red (IR) and ultra-violet (UV) gas leak detect systems for detecting gas leaks. A roofed building extends over the primary skid frame and secondary skid frame. One or more lifting lug assemblies are used that extend through the roof of the building for providing lifting points for the CNG metering and regulation station building.
Abstract: A surge irrigation system with one or more valve location units configured for location at a flood irrigation valve assembly. Each valve location unit has an elongate linkage with a rod configured to rotatably open and close a flood irrigation valve assembly with a powered actuator. A control unit is connected to the powered actuator and configured to wirelessly receive instructions to operate the powered actuator. Various embodiments also implement a base station to relay information and/or instructions between valve location units and a user. A user may control the system through, for example, a mobile device interface. Embodiments of the invention may also include moisture sensors configured to provide feedback to the system. A method of using the surge irrigation system is also disclosed.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods of removing carbon dioxide from a gaseous stream using magnesium hydroxide and then regenerating the magnesium hydroxide. In some embodiments, magnesium chloride is primarily in the form of magnesium chloride dihydrate and is fed to a decomposition reactor to generate magnesium hydroxychloride, which is in turn fed to a second decomposition reactor to generate magnesium hydroxide.
Abstract: A doped cathode material for lithium-ion batteries is disclosed. Methods and systems are further provided for doping a cathode material for use in a lithium-ion battery. In one example, the doping may be a dry surface doping process. In some examples, dopants may stabilize a crystal structure of the cathode material and may result in fewer side reactions with an electrolyte as compared to an undoped cathode material. As such, cycling performance and capacity retention may be improved relative to the undoped cathode material. Further, in some examples, the doped cathode material produced with the dry surface doping process may have improved cycling performance and capacity retention relative to a comparable doped cathode material produced with a wet surface doping process.
