Publication number: 20210405920Abstract: Power and/or current regulation in non-volatile memory systems is disclosed. Peak power/current usage may be reduced by staggering concurrent program operations in the different semiconductor dies. Each set of one or more semiconductor dies has an earliest permitted start time for its program operation, as well as a number of permitted backup start times. The permitted start times are unique for each set of one or more semiconductor dies. There may be a uniform gap or delay between each permitted start time. If a semiconductor die is busy with another memory operation at or after its earliest permitted start time, then the program operation is initiated or resumed at one of the permitted backup times. By having permitted backup times, the memory system need not poll each semiconductor die to determine whether the semiconductor die is ready/busy in order to determine when a die should start a program operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2020Publication date: December 30, 2021Applicant: SanDisk Technologies LLCInventors: Yu-Chung Lien, Mark Murin, Hua-Ling Cynthia Hsu, Tomer Eliash, Huai-Yuan Tseng, Deepanshu Dutta

Publication number: 20210404254Abstract: An improved roller shade system provides increased support, additional adjustments and/or increased safety. The slip plate allows the brake to slip forward and minimize damage to the clutch spring when a user pulls too hard on the hembar. The center drive mechanism extends through a bracket to allow the drive shaft to distribute power in both directions and drive two shade tube simultaneously. The tube adapter absorbs force from the spinning shade tube to minimize damage to the other components and the bead chain. The sprocket has a back wall supporting the sprocket, allowing the sprocket 130 to rest on the back flange of the sun gear to minimize pressure on the gears. An adjustment arm is adjusted to help level the shade band. The shade bands may be removed without disturbing the other shade bands in the system. A height of a hembar may be adjusted by rotating a rod within the hembar.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2021Publication date: December 30, 2021Applicant: MECHOSHADE SYSTEMS, LLCInventors: Eugene Miroshnichenko, Stephen Hebeisen, Xi Ming Liarno

Publication number: 20210409819Abstract: A data stream, such as a video stream, may comprise one or more event trigger messages indicating an upcoming event in the stream. The time (e.g., pre-roll time) between the event trigger message and its corresponding event may be modified, based on rules, to provide a network operator, service provider or downstream recipient more (or less) time to prepare for the event. This may be accomplished by moving the event trigger to an earlier (or later) location in the stream, and/or editing the event trigger to indicate the different pre-roll time.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2020Publication date: December 30, 2021Applicants: Comcast Cable Communications, LLC, NBCUniversal Media, LLCInventors: Joseph Franz, Dhurv Garg

Publication number: 20210406578Abstract: A “Stroke Untangler” composes handwritten messages from handwritten strokes representing overlapping letters or partial letter segments are drawn on a touchscreen device or touch-sensitive surface. These overlapping strokes are automatically untangled and then segmented and combined into one or more letters, words, or phrases. Advantageously, segmentation and composition is performed without requiring user gestures, timeouts, or other inputs to delimit characters within words, and without using handwriting recognition-based techniques to guide untangling and composing of the overlapping strokes to form characters. In other words, the user draws multiple overlapping strokes. Those strokes are then automatically segmented and combined into one or more corresponding characters. Text recognition of the resulting characters is then performed. Further, the segmentation and combination is performed in real-time, thereby enabling real-time rendering of the resulting characters in a user interface window.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2021Publication date: December 30, 2021Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Kenneth Paul Hinckley, Wolf Kienzle, Mudit Agrawal

Publication number: 20210403344Abstract: A system and method for decontaminating a fluid and recovered vapor, particularly processing and recycling water used in an oil zone steam process, utilizing a vaporizer-desalination unit to separate a contaminated water flow into a contaminated disposal flow and a clean water vapor flow. The contaminated water flow is recovered after separation from a combined oil and water flow from an oil well. The clean water vapor flow is preferably passed through a steam generator to produce the steam used in the oil zone steam process. The steam is injected into the oil zone of a designated well and then extracted as the combined oil and water flow. Once primed with sufficient external water, the system and method is designed to operate continuously with minimal replenishment because of the water/vapor/steam cycle.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2021Publication date: December 30, 2021Applicant: Verno Holdings, LLCInventors: John D. Publication number: 20210406672Abstract: Non-volatile memory structures for performing compute in memory inferencing for neural networks are presented. To improve performance, both in terms of speed and energy consumption, weight matrices are replaced with their singular value decomposition (SVD) and use of a low rank approximations (LRAs). The decomposition matrices can be stored in a single array, with the resultant LRA matrices requiring fewer weight values to be stored. The reduced sizes of the LRA matrices allow for inferencing to be performed more quickly and with less power. In a high performance and energy efficiency mode, a reduced rank for the SVD matrices stored on a memory die is determined and used to increase performance and reduce power needed for an inferencing operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2020Publication date: December 30, 2021Applicant: SanDisk Technologies LLCInventors: Tung Thanh Hoang, Won Ho Choi, Martin Lueker-Boden
