Abstract: Disclosed are an intermediate of Eribulin and a preparation method therefor. In particular, disclosed are compounds as represented by formula II, formula III and formula V and a preparation method therefor. Ar is C1-10 alkyl substituted, alkyloxy substituted or unsubstituted aryl; R1 and R2 is an acetal protecting group or a thioacetal protecting group; R3 is hydrogen or a hydroxyl protecting group; and X is halogen or a leaving group. The preparation method therefor has the advantages of mild reaction conditions, high selectivity, easy purification, low synthesis cost and the like, being suitable for large scale production.

Abstract: A vehicle brake component for collecting brake dust that includes a body having a leading edge portion and a trailing edge portion, and a magnet having a collection side, an adherence side, and one or more side edges separating the collection side and the adherence side. The collection side is configured to collect brake dust by directly facing the rotor, and the adherence side is directly coupled to the body at the trailing edge portion. In one embodiment, the body of the vehicle brake component is a backing plate body of a brake pad, and in another embodiment, the body of the vehicle brake component is a caliper housing or a caliper bracket.

Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a system for facilitating a card game is equipped with RFID antennas or interrogators operable to detect initial wagers placed by players on a table surface of the system. The system is further equipped with an electronic shoe which deals cards for the game and a processor with is operable to receive data both from the RFID antennas and the electronic shoe. Upon receiving data from an RFID antenna that a player has placed an initial wager based on initial odds and receiving data identifying some (but not all) cards dealt for a hand, the processor is operable to calculate adjusted odds for a re-characterization wager that would replace the initial wager, and output on a display of the system an offer for the re-characterization wager that corresponds to adjusted odds.

Abstract: A clasp with a mechanism to lock one or more keys is provided. The key can be affixed to an end of an ornamental item such as a chain, pendant, or charm. The clasp can include an inlet port for inserting a key and one or more channels for guiding the key towards one or more locking pockets. A compressible material can resist movement of the key along the channel and can prevent unwanted removal of the key at the locking pocket.

The apparatus may enable/disable a protection circuit to prevent current leakage and discharging of the battery. The apparatus may comprise a control switch to enable/disable the protection circuit without an external power supply.

Abstract: A fluidic connection assembly and methods for quickly connecting or disconnecting a tube to a port by hand and without the use of tools. A body is adapted to receive a tube therethrough, and may have at least two sides which are hinged. Each of the hinged sides has corresponding latching portions or projections located near a lower end of the body. These projections are adapted to fit into a port or other fitting and be securely held in place. The assembly may include a tube extending through a body and through a spring located between the end of the body and the end of the tube, whereby the spring exerts a force directly or indirectly against the end of the tube and against the body, thus holding the tubing securely and sealingly engaged in the port when the assembly is connected. The body may further comprise an additional body or an adapter, and/or a cap and latch.

Abstract: An I/O connector assembly configured for making a cabled connection to an interior portion of a printed circuit board for signals passing through the connector. The assembly may include a receptacle connector, a cage and cables, terminated to conductive elements of the terminal subassemblies, extending through the cage to the midboard. The terminal subassemblies may have first type conductive elements configured for mounting to the printed circuit board and second type conductive elements configured for terminating cables. Features may be included for precise positioning of the receptacle connector formed with the terminal subassemblies relative to the cage such that connector to connector variation in the positioning of the contact portions of the conductive elements in the terminal subassembly is provided. A mating plug may be designed with low wipe, which improves high frequency performance of the mated connector system.

The compounds/compositions may also include improved synthesis scalability, improved purity, improved aqueous solubility, and a solid product or intermediate. The compounds/compositions may demonstrate improved antiangiogenic effect and improved efficacy against conditions, particularly cancers, requiring blood brain barrier permeability, for example, glioblastoma (GBM).

Abstract: An energy absorbing assembly for a passenger seat that includes a crushable energy absorbing element for safely capturing kinetic energy during an impact event. The energy absorbing assembly comprises a linkage which is mechanically connected with moving parts of the seat back or seat pan by a first attachment element and a second attachment element, and the linkage includes an extended portion that extends beyond one of the attachment elements. A crushable energy absorbing element is mounted around the extended portion of the linkage and connected thereto, so that the crushable energy absorbing element receives and absorbs energy by deformation when the seat back is pushed forward with sufficiently high energy.

Abstract: Disclosed is an enhanced method for rapid and cost-effective analysis of sequences of a microorganism by semi-conductor sequencing, preferably ion-torrent sequencing. This method provides for full length analysis and of multiple areas (e.g. genes) of multiple genomes. These methods identify genetic mutations of a particular gene that are responsible for conferring resistance or sensitivity to an antibiotic or other chemical compound. Multiple different species, strains and/or serotypes of a particular organism are rapidly and efficiently screened and mutations identified along with the complete genome of an organism. By selecting primers pairs of similar size and GC content that produce amplicons with sequences spanning the entire genome, a single PCR reaction analyzed by ion torrent methodology can determine the sequence of a complete genome. Methods are useful to sequences the genomes of viral agents, such as influenza virus, and bacterial agents, such as tuberculosis bacteria.

Abstract: In certain techniques, a plurality of storage devices of a storage system are sorted into a sequence of storage devices by capacity. A first number of at least one storage device with maximum capacity in the sequence of storage devices is determined. A group of storage devices are selected from the sequence of storage devices based on the first number, a device number of storage devices in the sequence and a threshold device number, the number of storage devices in the group of storage devices being less than or equal to the threshold device number. A user storage system is built based on storage space in the group of storage devices, the user storage system having a predetermined width for representing a sum of a data width and a parity width in one stripe of the user storage system. Accordingly, efficiency of storage space utilization can be improved.

Abstract: A method for configuring an automated dialogue system uses traces of interactions via a graphical user interface (GUI) for an application. Each trace includes interactions in the context of a plurality of presentations of the GUI. Elements of one or more presentations of the GUI are identified, and templates are associated with portions of the trace. Each template has one or more defined inputs and a defined output. For each template of the plurality of templates, the portions of the traces are processed to automatically configure the template by specifying a procedure for providing values of inputs to the template via the GUI and obtaining a value of an output. The automated dialogue system is configured with the configured templates, thereby avoiding manual configuration of the dialogue system.

Abstract: Techniques for the dynamic slotting of content items within electronic content are provided. In response to receiving a request, a first set of content items is identified and a first score is generated for each based on a first objective. Based on the first scores, a first ranking of the first set of content items is generated. A subset of the first set is selected based on the first ranking. A second set of content items that includes the subset is identified and a second score is generated for each item in the second set based on a second objective that is different than the first objective. Based on the second scores, a second ranking of the second set is generated. A subset of the second set is selected based on the second ranking. The second subset is presented on a computing device that is associated with the request.
