Abstract: Assemblies and methods are provided for manufacturing a battery. A number of cells each have tabs for coupling the cell in the battery assembly. A housing has an opening through which each tab extends. The tabs are folded to overlie an outer surface of the housing. A bus bar is disposed on an opposite side of the tabs from the housing, with a coupling joint between the bus bar and the cells. The coupling joint may comprise a weld.

Abstract: A fiber optic cassette includes a cassette body, the cassette body extending along a longitudinal axis between a front and a rear, extending along a lateral axis between a first side and a second side, and extending along a transverse axis between a bottom and a top. The fiber optic cassette further includes a plurality of fiber optic adapter apertures defined at the front of the cassette body. The fiber optic cassette further includes a side channel defined at the first side of the cassette body, the side channel including an entry aperture spaced from the rear of the cassette body along the longitudinal axis. The fiber optic cassette further includes a splice module receptacle defined in the cassette body.

Abstract: Methods and systems for treating skin, such as stretch marks through deep tissue tightening with ultrasound are provided. An exemplary method and system comprise a therapeutic ultrasound system configured for providing ultrasound treatment to a shallow tissue region, such as a region comprising an epidermis, a dermis or a deep dermis. In accordance with various exemplary embodiments, a therapeutic ultrasound system can be configured to achieve depth with a conformal selective deposition of ultrasound energy without damaging an intervening tissue. In addition, a therapeutic ultrasound can also be configured in combination with ultrasound imaging or imaging/monitoring capabilities, either separately configured with imaging, therapy and monitoring systems or any level of integration thereof.

Abstract: A multi-port valve assembly, which includes a housing, a rotor disposed in the housing such that the rotor is operable for being placed in a plurality of positions, and a first channel integrally formed as part of the rotor. The multi-port valve assembly includes various ports which are all integrally formed as part of the housing. The rotor is rotated such that the multi-port valve assembly is placed in one of a plurality of configurations having two or more flow paths, providing fluid communication between the various ports. The rotor may include a first side channel, a second side channel fluidically isolated from the first side channel, and where the first side channel and the second side channel are fluidically isolated from the first channel. The rotor may also a first channel and a second channel, and the second channel is fluidically isolated from the first channel.

Abstract: Activated hydrogen peroxide disinfecting compositions are provided especially for low-foaming applications. A concentrate for dilution by an end-user is provided, which includes a hydrogen peroxide source, a non-surfactant organic sulfonic acid or salt thereof, a non-ionic surfactant, and an optional organic acid. Also provided is a ready-to-use hydrogen peroxide, disinfectant solution including a biocidal amount of hydrogen peroxide, a non-surfactant organic sulfonic acid or salt thereof, a non-ionic surfactant, water as solvent and an optional organic acid. An end-user can disinfect a surface of microorganisms by contacting the surface with the disinfecting composition for an amount of time effective to kill a majority of the microbes located on the surface.

Abstract: A spectator client device receives a plurality of spectator update frames that include respective actual physics state information for game objects of respective participants in a multiplayer game session. The spectator client device buffers respective ones of the spectator update frames for respective participants, and determines based on respective downlink spectator update frames buffered for the respective participants, respective simulated playback physical states at a common playback time of a current simulation period. A particular simulated playback physical state for a particular participant is determined based on actual physics state information obtained from at least two respective downlink spectator update frames buffered for the particular participant.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for caching structural elements of electronic documents. A plurality of indices is stored in a database. The plurality of indices corresponds to locations within an electronic document of portions of a structural element. A mutation to the electronic document is received. Based on the plurality of indices, it is determined that the mutation modifies the structural element. Based on the determination, the structural element is updated. The updated structural element is displayed at a user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods of generating a compact visual vocabulary are provided. Descriptor sets related to digital representations of objects are obtained, clustered and partitioned into cells of a descriptor space, and a representative descriptor and index are associated with each cell. Generated visual vocabularies could be stored in client-side devices and used to obtain content information related to objects of interest that are captured.

Abstract: Methods and systems classify content using scoring for identifying psychological factors employed by consumers to take action. An interface module obtains content including one or more elements. One or more feature vectors are extracted from the content. The one or more feature vectors include a feature vector that identifies an element of the one or more elements of the content. A classification scoring module generates one or more classification vectors from the one or more feature vectors. The one or more classification vectors include a classification vector that identifies one or more characteristics of the element from the content. The one or more classification vectors are combined and one or more characteristics of the content are identified to form an aggregated vector. A goal of the content is detected by generating a string that describes the content from the aggregated vector. The goal is presented with the content.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of cleaning an oil and gas well riser section that has a central larger diameter tubular member having a flow bore and a plurality of smaller diameter tubular members connected to the central larger diameter tubular member, each smaller diameter tubular member having a flow bore. The method includes placing a fitting on an end portion of the riser section, the fitting covering an end of the larger diameter tubular member and the ends of the smaller diameter tubular members, wherein the fitting preferably has multiple openings including one or more centrally located openings and a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart outer openings that are spaced radially away from each of the one or more centrally located openings, said fitting having a drain opening.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to a microphone assembly. The microphone assembly has an acoustic activity detection mode of operation when the electrical circuit is clocked using an internal clock signal generator in the absence of an external clock signal at a host interface, and an electrical circuit of the microphone assembly is configured to provide an interrupt signal to the host interface upon detection of acoustic activity by the electrical circuit. The electrical circuit is configured to control the operating mode of the microphone assembly based on a frequency of the external clock signal in response to providing the interrupt signal and is configured to provide data representing the electrical signal to the host interface using the external clock signal received at the host interface.

Abstract: A method and device for measuring dimensions of a feature on or near an object using a video inspection device. A reference surface is determined based on reference surface points on the surface of the object. One or more measurement cursors are placed on measurement pixels of an image of the object. Projected reference surface points associated with the measurement pixels on the reference surface are determined. The dimensions of the feature can be determined using the three-dimensional coordinates of at least one of the projected reference surface points.

Abstract: The invention relates to statistical processing of multi-dimensional samples according to a step-wise sequence of iterative tolerance limit definitions using rank statistics. The processing is performed in the context of defining tolerance limits for a population that are compared to multiple process limits or acceptance criteria, with the requirement that a specified fraction of the population be confirmed to fall within the stated acceptance criteria. The symmetry (or asymmetry) may be allocated and controlled by selecting the frequency of occurrence of a specific figure of merit, and its order or position, in the sequential embedding processing sequence.

Abstract: A method of forming batteries includes feeding a foil through a coating machine. The movement of the foil defines a foil direction. The method applies a first coating band and a second coating band to the foil. The second coating band is spaced from the first coating band by a first tab gap. The foil is cut substantially perpendicular to the foil direction to separate a first coated blank. The first coated blank is cut separate the first coating band and a first portion of the first tab gap, and to separate the second coating band and a second portion of the first tab gap. A first electrode is formed from the first coating band and the first portion of the first tab gap, and a second electrode is formed from the second coating band and the second portion of the first tab gap.
