Abstract: Source light having a range of optical wavelengths is generated. The source light is split into sample light and reference light. The sample light is delivered into a sample, such that it is scattered by the sample, resulting in signal light that exits the sample. The signal light and reference light are combined into an interference light pattern having optical modes. Different subsets of the optical modes of the interference light pattern are respectively detected, and high-bandwidth analog signals respectively corresponding to the different subsets of optical modes of the interference light pattern are output. At least one characteristic is extracted from each of the plurality of high-bandwidth analog signals, and low-bandwidth digital signals respectively comprising the extracted characteristics are output. The sample is analyzed based on the low-bandwidth digital signals.

Abstract: A multi-stage thulium-doped (Tm-doped) fiber amplifiers (TDFA) is based on the use of single-clad Tm-doped optical fiber and includes a wavelength conditioning element to compensate for the nonuniform spectral response of the initial stage(s) prior to providing power boosting in the output stage. The wavelength conditioning element, which may comprise a gain shaping filter, exhibits a wavelength-dependent response that flattens the gain profile and output power distribution of the amplified signal prior to reaching the output stage of the multi-stage TDFA. The inclusion of the wavelength conditioning element allows the operating bandwidth of the amplifier to be extended so as to encompass a large portion of the eye-safe 2 ?m wavelength region.

Abstract: A multi-lumen catheter for monitoring intra-abdominal pressure, the catheter including an expandable outer balloon and an expandable inner balloon positioned within the outer balloon. A first lumen communicates with the inner balloon and the inner balloon and first lumen are filled with gas to form a gas filled chamber to monitor pressure within the bladder to thereby monitor pressure within an abdomen of the patient. A second lumen communicates with the bladder to remove fluid from the bladder. The catheter is configured for attachment of an external pressure transducer communicating with the gas filled chamber for measuring bladder pressure based on gas compression caused by deformation of the expanded inner balloon deformed by the expanded outer balloon.

Abstract: Techniques to improve a schedule using optimization are described. Some described techniques improve the schedule using optimization upon a user's travel booking operation and/or in response to changes in the user's relationships. The techniques include an apparatus, a method, and a computer-readable medium configured to process relationship data associated with potential candidates for a set of meetings in a schedule, relationship data corresponding to interaction indicia with each potential candidate, generate, from the relationship data, a connectivity network comprising links with the potential candidates, each link of the links corresponding to a relevance value between a user and a specific potential candidate, and populate, via an optimization unit, open meeting spaces in the schedule with meeting data based upon the connectivity network and availability data of the potential candidates, the schedule being configured to substantially maximize relevancy of the set of meetings.

Abstract: Methods of producing an ion exchange membrane support are disclosed. The methods include saturating a polymeric microporous substrate with a charged monomer solution comprising at least one functional monomer, a cross-linking agent, and an effective amount of at least one photopolymerization initiator and polymerizing the at least one functional monomer by exposing the saturated polymeric microporous substrate to ultraviolet light under conditions effective to cross-link the at least one functional monomer and produce the ion exchange membrane support. Methods of producing a monovalent selective ion exchange membrane are also disclosed. The methods include functionalizing an exterior surface of the ion exchange membrane support with a charged compound layer, drying the ion exchange membrane support and soaking the ion exchange membrane support in a solution comprising an acid or a base for an amount of time effective to produce the monovalent selective ion exchange membrane.

Abstract: Systems, methods and software for multi-player electronic gaming are described. One embodiment includes a system for multi-player electronic gaming, the system including at least one gaming client configured to accept a selection of at least one gaming option from a player, and allow the player to play a game based on the selection of the at least one gaming option. The system includes an administration server configured to: receive the selection of the at least one gaming option from the at least one gaming client, and initiate the game for the player based on the selection of the at least one gaming option. The system includes at least one gaming server configured to run the game and transmit data about the game to the administration server.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for identifying a geographical location of an issue in a broadcasting network. An embodiment operates by a server or a headend sending a diagnostic test to a set-top box capable of processing a channel. The diagnostic test informs the first set-top box to have an idle tuner tune to the channel and to determine a performance characteristic of the first set-top box in processing the first channel. After receipt of the performance characteristic, the server or headend performs an analysis of the first characteristic and determines whether there is an issue in the broadcasting network. If there is an issue, the server or headend identifies a geographical location of the issue in the broadcasting network and sends the geographical location to a user for resolution of the issue.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and processor-readable storage media for automated resource selection for software-defined storage deployment are provided herein. An example computer-implemented method includes obtaining a software-defined storage deployment request from a user, the request comprising an amount of total storage capacity and a minimum number of servers; generating an in-memory data structure of at least a portion of an inventory associated with the user, wherein the inventory comprises servers and disks associated with the servers, and wherein the data structure organizes the inventory based on disk size and disk count per server; calculating, using at least the data structure, total storage capacity for each of multiple combinations of disk sizes and disk counts across the servers; determining at least one of the combinations, based on the total storage calculations, that satisfies the request; and performing at least one automated action based on the combination(s) determined to satisfy the request.

In addition, wellness checks such as temperature measurements are performed. The system may also incorporate an automatic ticket scanner.

Abstract: Technologies are presented directed to uploading of attachments to a relevant group cloud storage at send time. A communication application and/or service may suggest to a user to upload an attachment of an outgoing communication to a group cloud storage upon generation of the communication. Suggestion of group may be based on last use, document type, content, user(s), which account the user is in, and comparable factors. The user (or sender) may also be provided with options to set permissions for the attachment based on the upload destination selection. In some examples, upload of work documents to personal cloud storage may be prevented and suitable groups may be selected for user that are part of multiple groups.
