  • Patent number: 11165185
Abstract: A connector system includes a cage assembly in which a thermally conductive heat sink and a connector are mounted. The heat sink includes a base, a ramp extending downwardly from the base and a pedestal extending downwardly from the base. A thermal interface material is disposed on lower surface of the pedestal. A module can be inserted into the cage assembly and connected to the connector and to the heat sink. Thermal energy generated by the module is transferred to the heat sink which dissipates the heat by convention. The ramp protects a leading edge of the thermal interface material form engagement by the module during insertion of the module into the cage assembly.

  • Patent number: 11163943
Abstract: Methods and systems for partial application data collection are disclosed. The method stores a network accessible application having a plurality of form fields. One or more processors generate a session identifier (ID) and timestamp for a user accessing the application. The one or more processors determine that a state within a form field of one of the plurality of form fields is in focus, the state of the form field being in focus when the user selects the form field. Additionally, it is determined when the state within the form field is no longer in focus. At that time, a countdown timer is initiated. When the countdown time reaches zero, any data entered into the form field is collected. The collected data and the session ID are then combined into a single user data file.

  • Patent number: 11163446
Abstract: Techniques for amortizing metadata updates due to data delete operations in data storage systems that implement log structured storage of data from virtual volumes. The techniques employ a segment database (DB) and a deleted chunk DB. The segment DB is implemented as a key-value store. The deleted chunk DB is likewise implemented as a key-value store, but configured as a log structured merge (LSM) tree. By configuring the deleted chunk DB as an LSM-tree, more efficient use of memory and improved reduction of metadata updates can be achieved. Stored segments of log structured data can also be effectively “cleaned” in a background process that involves ordered traversals of the segment DB and the deleted chunk DB, allowing for more efficient recovery of storage space consumed by the deleted data chunks.

  • Patent number: 11163575
Abstract: Unaligned atomic memory operations on a processor using a load-store instruction set architecture (ISA) that requires aligned accesses are performed by widening the memory access to an aligned address by the next larger power of two (e.g., 4-byte access is widened to 8 bytes, and 8-byte access is widened to 16 bytes). Data processing operations supported by the load-store ISA including shift, rotate, and bitfield manipulation are utilized to modify only the bytes in the original unaligned address so that the atomic memory operations are aligned to the widened access address. The aligned atomic memory operations using the widened accesses avoid the faulting exceptions associated with unaligned access for most 4-byte and 8-byte accesses. Exception handling is performed in cases in which memory access spans a 16-byte boundary.
