Abstract: An example luminaire includes a white light source (e.g. LEDs emitting white light in a region of the CIE color chart within three Macadam ellipses below the black body curve) and a violet light source emitting light in a wavelength range of approximately 380 nm to 450 nm (e.g. 405 nm LEDs) for deactivating bacteria, such as Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) on a surface exposed to illumination from the luminaire. A controller coupled to the sources pulses the violet light source at periodic intervals or at random times. When ON, the violet source emits light for deactivating bacteria at an intensity higher than the concurrent intensity of the white light.

Abstract: An anterior lumbar interbody fusion device having a plurality of anchor apertures shaped and arranged in ways that provide options as to the number and locations of fixation points that anchor the device securely to the vertebrae. The anchor apertures may be angled towards or away from the cage vertical midline and cage horizontal midline, as well as angled differently relative to each other. In addition, the proximal opening of the anchor aperture is slightly wider than the distal opening, which permits the anchor to be positioned at a desired pitch within the opening, as opposed to being limited to a single entry angle. In a preferred embodiment, the proximal and distal opening of the anchor aperture are obround and each anchor aperture is sized to receive two anchors. In a given placement, anchors may be placed in some or all of the anchor apertures in each cage.

A method for dynamic risk assessment of a flight in a fleet of aircraft includes fetching state data for a flight from a distributed database configured to store state data for flights being performed by the fleet of aircraft; running simulations, by risk modules, based on the state data for the flight, each of the risk modules configured to assess a type of risk and output a risk score, the simulations resulting in risk scores for the flight; merging the risk scores for the flight by stacking the risk scores for the flight beginning with a highest risk score until a merged risk threshold is exceeded or each of the risk scores have been stacked; providing merged risk score data to an automated system configured to generate an automated message to the flight in response to the merged risk score data.

Abstract: A wirelessly powered inflatable medical implant system includes a medical provider software application, a patient external controller and a MR-Conditional, nonferrous pump in reservoir implant. The medical provider software application programs the patient external controller for the patient to transmit wireless power and control signals to circuitry in a pump in reservoir implant. In response, the pump in reservoir implant, containing a fluid reservoir and pump package submerged therein, transfers fluid from the reservoir through tubing, and into one or more inflatable medical implants. Submerging the pump package within the reservoir simplifies surgery in males and pump placement in females and provides pump package heatsinking to limit implant overheating.

The smart phone or tablet may also contain a facial recognition module to verify an individual's identity.

Abstract: A navigation system for a motor vehicle is provided. The navigation system comprises: a display interface located in the vehicle and configured to display a position of the vehicle; and a processor in communication with a vehicle sensor and a server and configured to receive vehicle-related information. The processor is configured to display the related information on the display interface in real time following the vehicle position when the related information belongs to a first preset category. A display method of a navigation map is also provided. The navigation system and the display method provided in the present application can help users obtain auxiliary information needed to drive on the current route from the navigation interface more conveniently in the process of using the navigation map, and thus provide a better driving experience to users.
