Abstract: A video encoder includes circuitry to generate an encoded bitstream for decoding by a compliant decoder, the encoded bitstream including a first picture to be used as a reference picture, a current picture comprising a first coded block and a second coded block, a signal indicating that a block-based mode when a reference picture and a current picture have different resolutions is enabled, and information including an index useful for determining a scaling constant. The compliant decoder has circuitry configured to receive the bitstream; determine whether the block-based mode is enabled, and if enabled utilizing the mode to reconstruct the first block and reconstruct the second block without using the mode.

Abstract: If there is an interruption of power to an electrical load while the electrical load is operating at low end, the electrical load may not turn back on when power is restored. This undesired operation may be avoided by detecting the application of power to the electrical load, and automatically increasing the magnitude of a control signal being applied to the electrical load by a sufficient amount for a short period of time after power has been applied. This way, the electrical load may be turned back on to low end, instead of erroneously operating in an electronic off condition.

Abstract: An ignition system may include an igniter circuit to control the current in a coil supplied by a battery based on an input signal from an engine control unit. To prevent overheating, the igniter circuit may be configured to shut down the current in the coil when the input signal is held high for an over dwell period. The disclosed igniter circuit is configured with circuitry to automatically adjust the over dwell period used based on a condition of the battery to prevent overheating without prematurely shutting down. The automatic adjustment includes indirectly monitoring the battery condition based on a current or a voltage of a switching device coupled to the coil.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for interacting with an Application Programming Interface (API) using a digital signature. In one embodiment, a system comprises one or more processors that execute the instructions to perform operations. The operations comprise receiving a digital signature from a requesting device, the digital signature comprising an array of one or more bits, wherein each position in the array is associated with a field in the database and with the data stored in the field of an API; identifying one or more requested fields; accessing the database to retrieve the information associated with the one or more requested fields, the information being associated with at least one API; and providing instructions to the requesting device, based on the retrieved information, causing the requesting application to use the API.

Abstract: Provided is a content delivery method and architecture for ways to improve the caching of content at one or more content providing devices of a Content Delivery Network (CDN). In particular, systems and methods are disclosed that vary the requirements to store resources or content within a caching device using a dynamic popularity threshold. This popularity threshold may be varied based on a measured fullness of the storage capacity of the cache device. In another example, the dynamic popularity threshold may be further varied based on a cache pressure, which is an indication of how often the cache replaces stored items with new items. The adjustment to the popularity threshold for caching particular content at the caching device may thus be based on a number of requests for content received at the device to tune the caching procedure for a particular region of the CDN.

Abstract: A heating arrangement for a cooking appliance, such as a toaster or oven. Heating elements can be exposed in a cavity of the appliance and can have a shield that permits infrared energy to pass but blocks microwaves and/or provides physical support for internal components such as a quartz tube or resistance element. The shield can be grounded to one or more cavity walls by grounding elements that engage with the shield and a portion of the cavity wall. The heating element can emit a greater amount of infrared radiation in one direction than an opposite direction, e.g., due to a convex or other shape of the resistance element. Sets of heating elements can be controlled so that a second element begins to emit visible light at a same time that a first element stops emitting visible light. Convection air can be directed at one or more heating elements, which diffuse the air flow or otherwise prevent flow of air directly to food in the cavity.

Abstract: Disclosed are implementations of a lens cap assembly, each configured to shroud the lens of either a flashlight, an optical sight, or a night vision device. Each lens cap assembly comprises a sleeve, a removable lens or an anti-reflection element positioned within the sleeve, and a cap. The cap is attached to the sleeve by an elastic cord.

Abstract: Described herein is a technique for generating data for a computer system. An apparatus comprises a high-speed communication bus, a memory unit communicatively coupled to the high-speed communication bus, an integrated circuit communicatively coupled to the high-speed communication bus, the integrated circuit to execute a machine learned model trained to receive input data and generate a set of implicit keywords from the input data to support a network service, and an implicit facet mapper to map the input data to an implicit facet of a knowledge graph, a database communicatively coupled to the high-speed communication bus, the database to store the set of implicit keywords and implicit facet in a data structure, and a network interface communicatively coupled to the high-speed communication bus to access a wireless network. Abstract: Methods and systems comprising a first portion of a model that includes a model component that is trained to perform sentiment analysis based on training data for a plurality of users (e.g., what language, phrases, and/or responses the population at large uses). The first portion of the model also includes a model component that is trained to identify user intent based on the sentiment analysis that is specific to user groups. For example, the system first determines the likely context and/or meaning of communications of the user. The system then determines a likely intent of the user based on the likely context and/or meaning of communications (e.g., based on a correlation of the meaning of communications of the user and the intents of users corresponding to a user group of the user).

Abstract: In a method for video decoding in a decoder, coded information of a coding unit (CU) is decoded from a coded video bitstream. The coded information indicating a last position of non-zero transform coefficients of a first coding block (CB) of the CU. Whether a secondary transform index is signaled in the coded information is determined based on whether the last position of non-zero transform coefficients indicates that the first CB of the CU has only zero coefficients or only one nonzero coefficient at the last coefficient position, wherein the secondary transform index is determined to be not signaled in the coded information when the last position of non-zero transform coefficients indicates that the first CB of the CU has only zero coefficients or only one nonzero coefficient at the last coefficient position. Whether to perform a secondary transform on a second CB of the CU is determined.

Abstract: A prismatic battery includes a prismatic battery can having an upper region, a vertical Z-direction along a height of the prismatic battery can, and a horizontal Y-direction along a width of the prismatic battery can. A plurality of stacked battery layers is disposed inside of the prismatic battery can. The stacked battery layers have an in-plane direction and a transverse direction that is perpendicular to the in-plane direction. The stacked battery layers have an orthotropic thermal conductivity that has a high, in-plane thermal conductivity in the in-plane direction and has a low, transverse thermal conductivity in the transverse direction. The stacked battery layers are folded inside of the prismatic battery can in an Inverted-U geometric configuration. The Inverted-U geometry is configured to provide a longer thermal delay time and a reduced peak temperature in response to a Thermal Runaway event occurring in an adjacent battery can.

Abstract: A system and method for granting demand access to a data network from an Out of band (OOB) network, the method including: locking to an OOB inroute illuminating an OOB coverage area of the OOB network; transmitting an OOB request including a Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) request for the data network to an OOB Network Management System (NMS) via the OOB inroute; sending, from the OOB NMS, the DAMA request to a data NMS of the data network; and fulfilling the DAMA request.

Abstract: A semiconductor device package may include a leadframe having a first portion with first extended portions and a second portion with second extended portions. Mold material may encapsulate a portion of the leadframe and a portion of a semiconductor die mounted to the leadframe. A first set of contacts of the semiconductor die may be connected to a first surface of the first extended portions, while a second set of contacts may be connected to a first surface of the second extended portions. A mold-locking cavity having the mold material included therein may be disposed in contact with a second surface of the first extended portions opposed to the first surface of the first extended portions, a second surface of the second extended portions opposed to the first surface of the second extended portions, the first portion of the leadframe, and the second portion of the leadframe.

Abstract: An integrated base station antenna comprises a passive antenna that includes a front radome, a matching dielectric layer and a rear radome; and an active antenna mounted on the back of the passive antenna. A distance between the rear radome of the passive antenna and the matching dielectric layer is a first distance, and the distance between the active antenna and the rear radome of the passive antenna is a second distance, where the first distance is selected as 0.25+n/2 times the equivalent wavelength, where n is a positive integer, and the second distance is selected as 0.25+N/2 times the equivalent wavelength, where N is a natural number. The equivalent wavelength is within the range of 0.8 to 1.2 times of the wavelength corresponding to a center frequency of an operating frequency band of the radiating elements in the active antenna.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and program product perform automatic load profiling to optimize a wrapping operation performed with a stretch wrapping machine. Automatic load profiling may be performed, for example, to determine a density parameter for a load that is indicative of load stability such that one or more control parameters may be configured for a wrapping operation based upon the density parameter. Automatic load profiling may also be performed, for example, to detect a load with a nonstandard top layer, e.g., a load with a top or slip sheet, a load with an easily deformable top layer, a load with a ragged top surface topography and/or a load with an inboard portion, such that a top layer containment operation may be activated during wrapping to optimize containment for the load.

Abstract: Implementations set forth herein relate to phasing-out of vehicle computing device versions while ensuring useful responsiveness of any vehicle computing device versions that are still in operation. Certain features of updated computing devices may not be available to prior versions of computing devices because of hardware limitations. The implementations set forth herein eliminate crashes and wasteful data transmissions caused by prior versions of computing devices that have not been, or cannot be, upgraded. A server device can be responsive to a particular intent request provided to a vehicle computing device, despite the intent request being associated with an action that a particular version of the vehicle computing device cannot execute. In response, the server device can elect to provide speech to text data, and/or natural language understanding data, in furtherance of allowing the vehicle computing device to continue leveraging resources at the server device.

Renewable energy from the power plant is allocated based on determining when the selections based on the selectable options in the customized third template match the second template.

Abstract: An air ionization unit is provided to ionize air to remove particulates and to release cleaned air. Air moves into the air ionization unit where it may be first filtered by an air intake filter. The air is moved, preferably by a fan, into contact with an ion generator, where the air is ionized. One or more (such as two) other fans may be used to provide airflow to (1) at least partially remove ions emanating from the air that has been exposed to the ion generator, and (2) to push the cleaned air through one or more ozone filters and out of the air ionization unit. The air ionization unit may also include an outgoing air filter, and one or more doors to access the air intake filter and/or the air ionization unit.

Abstract: A system includes a generator using a fluid mixture obtained via a generator inlet, a compressor having a compressor inlet that is connected to a generator outlet by a first set of conduits, a second set of conduits connected to the compressor outlet and the generator inlet, and a sensor in communication with the second set of conduits, where a portion of the fluid mixture includes gas from a gas emission source, and where exhaust fluid of the generator is provided to the compressor. A process includes obtaining a target fluid property and a fluid measurement using the sensor and modifying a parameter of a fluid control device to modify a first flow rate of the flow of the exhaust fluid through the second set of conduits relative to a second flow rate of the flow of the gas provided by gas emission source through the first set of conduits.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus are described for processing mutations for a remote database. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a log of database mutations from a client device, the log of database mutations indicating changes previously made to a client version of a database stored on the client device, and each database mutation specifying: an entity included in the database; an operation for the entity; and a client version number for the entity; identifying, in the log of database mutations, two or more database mutations that each specify a same client version number for a same entity; determining, based on a conflict resolution policy, that the two or more database mutations are eligible for collapsing; and collapsing the two or more database mutations into a single database mutation.
