Abstract: An air intake separator system includes a plurality of vanes adapted to remove fluid or precipitation from an air stream, wherein the vanes are operably coupled to tubular rods with an interference fit. Applying an elevated temperature heat transfer fluid to the plurality of vanes removes fluid or precipitation from an air stream in order to prevent ice formation. Likewise, applying a lower temperature heat transfer fluid can cool the vanes.

Abstract: A network device may schedule orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmissions. The network device may determine frequency resources and streams to send to a user equipment (UE) based on the received first assistance information and channel quality associated with the UE. The network device may send to the first network device, second assistance information to facilitate the first network device to schedule OFDM transmissions. Scheduled OFDM transmissions from the network device may partially overlap in time with OFDM transmissions from the first network device.
Abstract: An imaging system that includes a camera mounted on an aerial platform, for example a balloon, allows a user to increase the longevity of the camera's battery by remote control. A user may capture imagery at a time scale of interest and desired power consumption by adjusting parameters for image capture by the camera. A user may adjust a time to capture an image, a time to capture a video, or a number of cycles per time period to capture one or more images as the aerial platform moves in a region of interest to change power consumption for imaging. The system also provides imaging alignment to account for unwanted movement of the aerial platform when moved in the region of interest. Additionally, a mounting device is provided that is simple and inexpensive, and that allows a camera to remain positioned in a desired position relative to the ground.

Abstract: Temperature locale sensors include an enclosure defining a sealed volume with a phase-change material therein at a known pressure. The phase-change material is formulated to exhibit a gas-to-solid phase change, without condensing to a liquid phase, at the known pressure and a targeted temperature, i.e., the material's “deposition temperature.” The phase-change material—while at least partially in gaseous form, either initially or after sublimation—is exposed to an environment with temperatures varying by location, including a maximum temperature above the phase-change material's deposition temperature and other temperatures at or below the deposition temperature. The gaseous phase-change material, in a location at the deposition temperature, solidifies from its gaseous phase to form solid grain deposits on a surface within the enclosure of the sensor. The solid deposits precisely identify the location of the specific, targeted deposition temperature.
Abstract: A container for growing a plant. The container includes at least one container wall having a surface, the container wall having one or more light reflective and/or refractive members attached thereto. The one or more light reflective and/or refractive members may include one or more silicate microbeads that are buffered to neutrality. The container may contain a plant, and the one or more light reflective and/or refractive members may be positioned in the container to redistribute light toward the plant, and may be present in an amount effective to cause harmful light saturation of the plant. To safen the plant from such harmful light, the container also may contain one or more glycopyranosidic compounds, such as one or more alkyl-?-D-mannosides.

Abstract: An electric strike system including a housing, a keeper, an actuator, and a plurality of ramp members. The keeper is pivotally mounted to the housing, and is pivotable about a longitudinal axis between a closed position and an open position. The actuator is operable to selectively retain the keeper in the closed position. Each ramp member is operable to be mounted to the housing and includes a corresponding and respective channel. The plurality of ramp members includes a first ramp member and a second ramp member. With the first ramp member mounted to the housing, the channel of the first ramp member has a first longitudinal position relative to the housing. With the second ramp member mounted to the housing, the channel of the second ramp member has a second longitudinal position relative to the housing. The second longitudinal position is different from the first longitudinal position.
Abstract: A method and system for detecting malicious behavior from smart appliances within a network. Smart appliances have a certain level of intelligence that allows them to perform a specific role more effectively and conveniently. Network traffic data and identification data is collected about smart appliances within a network. The data is sent to a behavior analysis engine, which computes confidence levels for anomalies within the network traffic that may be caused by malicious behavior. If the behavior analysis engine determines that malicious behavior is present in the network, it sends an instruction to a network traffic hub to block network traffic relating to the anomaly. In some embodiments, network traffic is blocked based on source-destination pairs. In some embodiments, network traffic is blocked from a device outside the network that is determined to be malicious.

Abstract: An analog to digital converter (ADC) senses an analog signal (e.g., a load current) to generate a digital signal. The ADC operates based on a load voltage produced based on charging of an element (e.g., a capacitor) by a load current and a digital to analog converter (DAC) output current (e.g., from a N-bit DAC). The ADC generates a digital output signal representative of a difference between the load voltage and a reference voltage. This digital output signal is used directly, or after digital signal processing, to operate an N-bit DAC to generate a DAC output current that tracks the load current. The digital output signal provided to the N-bit DAC is an inverse function of the load current. The ADC is operative to sense very low currents (e.g., currents as low as is of pico-amps) and consume very little power (e.g., less than 2 ?W).

Corporeal data associated with at least one body segment of the user can be determined based at least in part on the sensor data. The corporeal data is associated with a bend angle associated with the at least one body segment. An ergonomic assessment associated with the user can be determined based at least in part on the corporeal data. The ergonomic assessment can include an indication of one or more ergonomic zones associated with the user, the one or more ergonomic zones being determined based at least in part on the bend angle associated with the at least one body segment.
