Abstract: A motor grader having an articulated frame that includes a first front frame portion and a second rear frame portion that is angularly moving with respect to the first frame portion around a pivoting axis. A front steering system includes front wheels that are movable around a steering axis with respect to the articulated frame and around leaning axis transversal to the steering axis so that the front wheels may turn and lean during steering operation. A control unit receives as an input a control signal representing a steering angle and outputs steering actuation commands for an hydraulic actuating system of the front steering system and for a hydraulic actuating system of the articulated frame realizing synchronized and proportional angular movements of the front wheels around the steering and leaning axes and of the first and second portions of the frame around the pivoting axis.

Abstract: Networking devices may allow for directed wireless communication. Such devices may comprise a movable antenna within a spherical housing having different ports associated with different positions, and may direct wireless communication beams in different directions to provide access to different zones by moving the antenna. A user may configure a system to prioritize or restrict zones or devices based on criteria. This prioritization may facilitate tiered services among users or devices.

Abstract: A method for filtering data packets at a firewall system is disclosed that includes receiving a data packet having a plurality of fields at a processor, and determining whether a precondition exists, where an action is associated the precondition. The action associated with the precondition is performed if it is determined that the precondition exists. The data packet is processed using a plurality of rules if it is determined that the precondition does not exist for the one or more of the plurality of fields. A user associated with the data packet is identified, and it is determined whether one or more rules are stored in a cache for one or more of a plurality of groups associated with the user. The data packet is processed using the one or more rules stored in the cache if present.

Abstract: The technology described herein manages communications received by a mobile computing device by ascertaining a user's availability to receive an incoming communication. The technology described herein can optimize the use of notification resources on a computing device to provide notifications only when a user is available to respond to a communication the notification announces. The user's availability to receive a communication can be inferred through the analysis of signal data that describes a present context of the mobile device and/or the mobile device's user. Upon determining a present level of availability, the technology described herein can take several different actions. The actions include generating an alternative notification for a newly received communication, generating no notification for a newly received communication, and communicating an automated “not available” message to the originator of a newly received communication.

Abstract: Provided is a method of reducing a number of viable microbes, including contacting microbes with an antibiotic compound and applying pulses of electricity having a duration of between about 50 nanoseconds and about 900 nanoseconds. The pulses of electricity may have an intensity between about 20 kV/cm and about 40 kV/cm. The pulses of electricity may be applied at a frequency of between about 0.1 Hz and about 10 Hz. The microbes may be a gram-negative or a gram-positive strain of bacteria and the antibiotic may be applied at a concentration for a duration, wherein applying the antibiotic to the strain at the concentration for the duration does not reduce a viable number of bacteria of the strain as much, or at all, when the pulses of electricity are not also applied.

Abstract: Systems and methods for transforming legacy models and transforming a model into a neural network model are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method may include receiving input data comprising an input model, an input dataset, and an input command. The method may include applying the input model to the input dataset to generate model output and storing model output and at least one of input model features or a map of the input model. The method may include generating a candidate neural network models with parameters. The method may include tuning the candidate neural network models to the input model. The method may include receiving model output from the candidate neural network models and selecting a neural network model from the candidate neural network models based on the candidate model output and the model selection criteria. In some aspects, the method may include returning the selected neural network model.

Abstract: A scooter includes a platform, a shell movably coupled to the platform via a gripper of the shell and a grip surface of the platform, and front and rear wheels rotatably coupled to the platform. The shell defines a cavity, and the platform is movable into and out of the cavity. The scooter may include a retractable pole coupled to the platform and a handlebar coupled to the retractable pole. The retractable pole may be coupled to and steer the front wheel. The shell may include one or two foldable decks.

Abstract: The present technology relates generally to a method and device for closing percutaneous punctures, and more particularly to a multi-lumen tamper for such a device. A closure device for sealing a percutaneous puncture in a wall of a body passageway is disclosed, the closure device including a plug configured to engage a surface of the puncture; a toggle configured to engage an internal surface of the body passageway; an elongate filament configured to associate the plug with the toggle; a locking member configured to engage the plug; and a tamper comprising at least two lumens, wherein a first lumen of the at least two lumens is configured to deliver a pharmaceutical agent to the plug.

Abstract: An agent for managing backup generation for virtual machines includes a persistent storage stores backup policies and a backup manager that obtains request for generating a backup for a first virtual machine of the virtual machines and, in response to obtaining the request, generates a backup load prediction for generating the backup; performs a resource availability analysis of a host computing device hosting the first virtual machine to determine computing resources availability for generating the backup; makes a first determination, using the backup load prediction and the computing resource availability, that the host computing device has insufficient resources for generating the backup; and, in response to the first determination, performs a backup type analysis on existing backups associated with the first virtual machine to obtain at least one updated backup policy; and generates a reduced-resource cost backup for the virtual machine using at least one of the updated backup policies.

A damping actuator is interposed between the first post section and the second post section, and is arranged to dynamically control a position of the first post section in relation to the second post section. The strut also includes an accelerometer. Abstract: A method and system for using image analysis to generate an automobile surface protecting device attached with an adhesive are provided. The method includes generating from a scanned three-dimensional image, using one or more image analysis applications, a protective film template for a vehicle panel based on the dimensions of the vehicle panel, a determined transition point, a determined termination point, and a plurality of relief cuts. Generating the protective film template includes converting a three-dimensional protective film template into a two-dimensional protective film template by flattening the protective film template. The method includes transferring the protective film template to the sheet of protective film. The sheet of protective film includes an adhesive and is used to modify an appearance of the vehicle panel by modifying how light reflects off scratches on the vehicle panel.

Abstract: A method of determining dynamic properties of a structure (linear or nonlinear) includes receiving spatio-temporal inputs, generating mode shapes and modal components corresponding to the spatio-temporal inputs using a trained deep complexity coding artificial neural network, and subsequently generating the dynamic properties by analyzing each modal component using a trained learning machine. A computing system for non-contact determination of dynamic properties of a structure includes a camera, a processor, and a memory including computer-executable instructions. When the instructions are executed, the system is caused to receive spatio-temporal image data, decompose the spatio-temporal image data into constituent manifold components using an autoencoder, and analyze the constituent manifold components using a trained learning machine to determine the dynamic properties.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for echoing media via a mobile device are disclosed herein. According to an embodiment, the method can include displaying automatically to a user, on the mobile device, a list of one or more respective identifiers of one or more other users experiencing respective media within a selectable geographic area. The user is then allowed to select whether to play one or more of the respective media on the mobile device, and can connect with the one or more other users via a social networking site. As a result, the user can network with previously unknown people, based on a common taste in music or other media, for example, as well as a geographic location.

Abstract: A reduced visibility window/door screen includes a particularly formed narrow profile frame and mesh applied to the frame. The frame is formed from a single elongated member that is bent to form four corners and four corresponding sides, with joining of the adjacent first and second ends. A high-strength adhesive bonds the mesh to the frame, which is pinch rolled thereon for exceptional pull-out strength. Another embodiment includes a leaf spring movably secured to the frame, to bias and center the screen within the master frame. Another embodiment further includes a plunger pin slidably disposed in the frame with one end fixedly secured to the leaf spring, and handle movably connected to the other end of the plunger pin. The handle member being movable between first and second positions to respectively actuate the leaf spring between an undeformed condition, and a deformed, flattened condition permitting installation/removal of the screen.
