Abstract: A fuel delivery system for a vehicle engine and a method are provided. A first valve in parallel with a first fuel pump fluidly couples a fuel line to a fuel tank. A second valve in parallel with a second fuel pump fluidly couples a fuel rail to the fuel line. A controller opens the first and second valves during a vehicle key-off state to relieve pressure in the fuel rail and drain fuel into the fuel tank. A vehicle is provided with a fuel tank, and a valve fluidly coupling a fuel rail and a fuel tank. A controller opens the valve during a vehicle key-off state to drain fuel from the fuel rail into the fuel tank and relieve pressure in the fuel rail, and closes the valve in response to a predicted key-on event during the vehicle key-off state.

Abstract: Opto-electronic devices can evaluate convolutional neural networks with reduced power consumption and higher speeds using optical metamaterial structures. Methods and systems for convolution of an input vector f with a kernel k can include a first optical element that is adjustable according to the input vector f and a second optical element that is adjustable according to the kernel k, where either or both elements can include adjustable optical metasurfaces. In some approaches, the second optical element is adjustable according to a Fourier transform of the kernel k and is interposed between first and second lenses or volumetric metamaterials implementing Fourier and inverse Fourier transforms, respectively.

Abstract: Compositions and methods for measuring coagulation parameters using very small volumes of blood are provided. Advantageously, the methods described herein can be performed from a single drop of blood (about 20 ?L) while generally leaving enough sample to perform other measurements, optionally in a multiplexed format. The methods and devices do not require a skilled operator and can be performed at the point of service, which can be an important feature for managing blood coagulation disorders and treatments thereof.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for managing data in a distributed data storage system, such as but not limited to a cloud computing environment. In some embodiments, snapshots of a data set are uploaded from a source storage subsystem to a cloud store, along with intervening difference information volumes (DIVs). The DIVs are data structures that identify a set of updated data blocks that have been changed by the source storage subsystem between each successive pair of the snapshots. A reader subsystem requests and uses the latest DIV to request the latest set of changed data blocks from the cloud store, and uses the latest set of changed data blocks to update a previous snapshot to generate a copy of the most recent snapshot. The source and reader subsystems can comprise Internet of Things (IoT) devices, client devices, edge computing devices, etc. from different vendors and which utilize different protocols.

Abstract: A structure in flat-packable kit form to protect mailboxes from snowplow damage is provided. The kit includes four to six flat components that are stackable. Two of the components and foldable so as the be secured to each other, defining a deflection surface extending in generally orthogonal directions from a shared post sleeve. The post sleeve slidably receives a mounting post disposed between the road and a roadside mailbox, where the orthogonally oriented deflection surface blocks plowed or blown snow from impacting and demining the mailbox. The flat-packable kit may include gussets for reinforcing the deflection surface by way of the post sleeve in the assembled condition.

Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, devices, and machine-readable mediums for combining activities in recorded code. A method is disclosed that includes receiving a first indication of a first operation and a second indication of a second operation from an electronic document application, the first indication of the first operation indicating that the first operation is performed on a first cell of the electronic document application and the second indication of the second operation indicating the second operation is performed on a second cell. The method may include determining a range of cells expression. The method may further include generating code within the recorder application comprising the range of cells expression that when executed within the recorder application causes an operation of the same type as the first operation and the second operation to be performed by the electronic document application on the first cell and the second cell.

Abstract: A light-based detection system includes a light source configured to emit light as a series of one or more light pulses, a transmitter configured to direct the one or more light pulses toward a remote target located a distance from the system, a receiver configured to detect a light pulse scattered by the remote target, and a controller. The pulses are at a wavelength between approximately 1400 nanometers and approximately 1600 nanometers, with pulse duration between 10 picoseconds and 20 nanoseconds and a pulse energy less than 2 microjoules. The controller is configured to determine the distance from the system to the target based on a time of flight for the detected light pulse, detect a fault condition indicating that the distance to the target is less than a threshold distance, and shut down the light source in response to detecting the fault condition.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for managing the distribution of content and/or communications from a telecommunications or computer network to an end user of the network. In general, the system receives a request for content from a user of the network and analyzes the request to determine an estimated geographic region and/or an access network associated with the requesting device. Based on the determined geographic region or access network, a networking device returns a specific anycast IP address from which the content may be received. In this manner, the content providing network may utilize multiple anycast IP addresses within the network to provide content to one or more end users of the network. The specific anycast IP address is provided to an end user device to obtain the requested content.

Abstract: An apparatus for a real-time collaboration in calendar is described herein. The apparatus includes a state change module to receive a change notification at a second calendar client rendering a shared calendar. The apparatus also includes an identification module to retrieve an identification (ID) of calendar content, a change in a user interface state, and an extent of a calendar view from a first data structure. Finally, the apparatus includes a replica module of the second client to retrieve calendar content from a second data structure using the ID as an index value.

Abstract: Pouch-type battery cells include a first and second pouch layer, one or more electrode pairs between the two pouch layers, each pair including an anode and cathode current collector, a peripheral seal defined by a peripheral seal path and joining the two pouch layers to form a pouch encasing the one or more electrode pairs, an anode tab electrically coupled to one or more anode current collectors within the pouch and a cathode tab electrically coupled to one or more cathode current collectors within the pouch each extend outward from the peripheral seal. The anode and/or cathode tab include one or more apertures disposed along the peripheral seal path such that a portion of the peripheral seal is formed between the first and second pouch layers within the one or more apertures. The tabs of multiple battery cells can be electrically coupled via busbars to form a battery pack.

Abstract: An ear shield includes a lateral portion and a medial portion that are configured to respectively go over the lateral and medial sides of the auricle of a wearer's ear. The lateral and medial portions are joined together by a joining portion that acts as a cantilevered spring member, allowing the distal ends of the lateral and medial portions to move with respect to each other, but which biases the lateral and medial portions to a neutral position suitable for retaining the ear shield on a person's ear. There are articulating tabs further formed at the joining portion which extend to the rear, opposite the lateral and medial portions, that allow a user to move the lateral and medial portions relative to each other.

Abstract: Systems and methods for secure communication are provided. A sender encrypts a first starting block with one of a number of random blocks. The encrypted first starting block is sent to a receiver, which expands it by a random amount. The expanded block is divided into a first expanded block and a second expanded block. A source data block is encrypted with the second expanded block and transmitted to the receiver, where it is decrypted with the decrypted first starting block. The first expanded block replaces the starting block for subsequent transmission.

Abstract: A blister and package system made of a blister card and an outer package with unique interacting locking mechanisms. The blister card or strip is inserted into the outer package or sleeve and locks immediately without having to further process the outer package or the blister card or strip. The user is able to expose the blisters from the outer package by disengaging the lock. The blister card or strip includes a formable, pliable sheet material, into which one or more individual cavities or blisters are formed. The separated cavities are loaded with product and sealed with one or more layers of puncturable or tearable sheet material, such as aluminum foil. The blister card or strip contains a plastic rivet assembly that forms an interference mechanism. The rivet is trapped by an internally formed panel and stopped by a catch flap included in the outer package.

Abstract: Methodologies, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for in-field authentication of autonomous electronic devices. A first mobile autonomous electronic device wirelessly communicates with a second mobile autonomous electronic device and receives a set of identification information associated with the second mobile autonomous electronic device. The first electronic device autonomously travels to a specified location and transmits a first authentication signal to the second electronic device upon arrival at the specified location. The second electronic device confirms the identity of the first electronic device based on the first authentication signal and transmits a second authentication signal to the first electronic device. Once the first electronic device has confirmed that the identity of the second electronic device corresponds to an expected identity, the first electronic device transfers the object to the second electronic device.

Abstract: A web browser may output a form comprising a payment field. A URL may be received from a communications interface of a contactless card, the URL comprising encrypted data generated by the contactless card based on a private key stored in a memory of the contactless card. An application may transmit the encrypted data to an authentication server, which may decrypt the encrypted data based on the private key. The application may receive, from a virtual account number server, a virtual account number. The application may receive an expiration date and a CVV. The application may copy the virtual account number to a clipboard of an OS. The OS may paste the virtual account number from the clipboard to the payment field of the form in the web browser. The OS may output a notification comprising the expiration date and the CVV associated with the virtual account number.

Abstract: A water-dispersible nonwoven substrate includes a structured web of fibers. The structured web has a first surface and a second surface. The first surface has substantially filled protrusions extending outwardly from the first surface and connecting regions disposed between the protrusions. The average fiber densities of the protrusions and connecting regions are substantially the same, and the fibers are individualized plant-based fibers, reconstituted cellulosic fibers, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: Within a satellite communications system, a base station communicates with standard compliant user equipment (UE) via a satellite having a field of view. The base station has a processor that instructs the satellite to generate a wide beam signal covering a plurality of cells in the field of view, and detects an access request from a user equipment within the plurality of cells over the wide beam signal. The base station, comprising a processing device such as an eNodeB, then generates one or more network broadcast/access signals that is uplink to a satellite and broadcasted via one or more nominal beams generated by the satellite, covering all the inactive cells, one of the plurality of cells having the access request.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally a system and method for providing rolling code remote device functions to provide keyless entry to multiple makes and models of cars. The present invention is adapted to produce the radio signal type and transmitted data of an original manufacturer's keyless entry remote device system by implementing multiple modulation schema and data encoding techniques.

Abstract: A personal care system having a treatment device for applying a treatment to the skin or hair of a user is provided. The treatment device has a camera for taking an image of the skin. The system may include or be in communication with an application programming interface (API) that can process the image. The system or an associated API can recommend the use of treatment regimens or topical products according to information determined from the digital image of the skin.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a method renders a first set of objects at a first frame rate and a second set of objects at a second frame rate that is lower than the first frame rate. The method displays the second set of objects for a number of frames based on the second frame rate while displaying the rendered first set of objects at the first frame rate. It is determined when to render a new second set of objects at a different frame rate than the second frame rate. When it is determined that the new second set of objects should be rendered at the different frame rate than the second frame rate, the method renders the new second set of objects at a third frame rate different from the second frame rate.
