Abstract: An intrusion prevention system includes an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), a UAV controller, and a restricted area data aggregator. The restricted data aggregator collects and stores restricted area data. The UAV controller is coupled to communicate with the UAV and the restricted area data aggregator, wherein the UAV controller receives positional data from the UAV and restricted area data from the restricted area aggregator. The UAV controller determines based on the received positional data and the received restricted area data whether the UAV is currently intruding within a restricted area or is predicted to intrude within a restricted area and wherein the UAV controller initiates actions to prevent unauthorized intrusions into restricted areas.
Abstract: A visual search system detects one or more user-selected objects represented in an image. A first group of attributes for the user-selected objects is identified. A category for the user-selected objects is identified, and a second group of pre-defined attributes associated with the category is retrieved. The first and second groups of attributes are combined into an attributes set. The combined set of attributes are presented to the user. The user selects one or more attributes and a search is performed to identify images similar to the user-selected attributes. The images are ranked and a subset is presented to the user.

Abstract: Most semiconductor devices manufactured today, have uniform dopant concentration, either in the lateral or vertical device active (and isolation) regions. By grading the dopant concentration, the performance in various semiconductor devices can be significantly improved. Performance improvements can be obtained in application specific areas like increase in frequency of operation for digital logic, various power MOSFET and IGBT ICs, improvement in refresh time for DRAMs, decrease in programming time for nonvolatile memory, better visual quality including pixel resolution and color sensitivity for imaging ICs, better sensitivity for varactors in tunable filters, higher drive capabilities for JFETs, and a host of other applications.
Abstract: A system for analyzing a sample includes a source; a mobility separator configured to separate ions based on a mobility in a gas; a plurality of ion channels; and a mass analyzer. The mobility separator includes a two-dimensional grid of electrodes spanning a passage between first and second walls. The first and second walls include an inlet aperture and a plurality of exit apertures, respectively. The two-dimensional grid of electrodes configured to generate an electric field within the passage. The plurality of ion channels arranged adjacent to the plurality of exit apertures. Movement of ions between the inlet aperture and the plurality of exit apertures are governed by the electric field and a gas flow through the passage between to the first and second walls such that the ions are sorted and directed to different channels based on their respective mobility.

Abstract: A method and system for image processing of an image captured by an image-capturing device, can involve dividing a region of interest in an image into blocks, wherein the image is captured by an image-capturing device. The region of interest can be associated with one or more faces in the image, and a resulting division of the dividing of the region of interest may be non-uniform. A minimum block size can be defined and the coordinates of each block after dividing of the region of interest in the image into the blocks. The one or more faces in the image can be redacted and reconstructed using the coordinates. In addition, redacting and reconstructing of the image is reversible for use with detecting the one or more faces in the image. The coordinates can specify top left coordinates and bottom right coordinates of each block.
Abstract: An aspect of some embodiments of the invention relates to a method of scheduling maintenance for a pharmaceutical dispensing device, comprising: receiving a request to perform said maintenance; automatically generating at least one proposed maintenance time window matching production goals of said pharmaceutical dispensing device and mechanical capability of said pharmaceutical dispensing device and said maintenance and said request; and responding to said request with said at least one proposed maintenance time window.

Abstract: The present technology is generally directed to systems and methods for removing mercury from emissions. More specifically, some embodiments are directed to systems and methods for removing mercury from exhaust gas in a flue gas desulfurization system. In one embodiment, a method of removing mercury from exhaust gas in a flue gas desulfurization system includes inletting the gas into a housing and conditioning an additive. In some embodiments, conditioning the additive comprises hydrating powder-activated carbon. The method further includes introducing the conditioned additive into the housing and capturing mercury from the gas.

Abstract: Health concerns of the vector-borne diseases, such as, yellow fever, malaria, dengue fever and general discomfort due to insect bites, has encouraged the development of insecticides to kill insects and insect repellents to keep insects away from treated human skin. Annatto extracts as a natural insect repellent and insecticide have many advantages over synthetic such as lower harmful side effects, low resistance, and more environmentally friendly. Annatto extracts containing ishwarane (C15) and geranyl-?-terpinene (C20) have strong mosquito repellency. Annatto extracts containing geranyl-?-terpinene (C20) and geranylgeraniol (C20) have strong larvicidal activity. Annatto extracts with approximately equal C15 and C20 composition have insect repellency, and annatto extracts with mainly C20 composition have larvicidal activity. Annatto extracts have synergistic effects with other natural extracts.
Abstract: This invention provides improvements in the efficiency of a sailing vessel through the use of flaps, hydrofoils, or members on the keel of a sailing vessel. One or more are positioned at the top, or root of the keel of the vessel, which primarily generate a force in the windward direction to provide a counter-leeward drift force. One or more are located at the bottom, or tip of the keel of the vessel, which primarily generate a force in the leeward direction to provide a counter-heeling moment. Among other benefits, operation of these flaps, hydrofoils, or members during sailing increases the vessel's efficiency, in particular its velocity made good. Further, since they are mounted on one appendage, sailing vessels of a rudder and keel design can be equipped with counter leeward-drift and counter-heeling attributes without the need for additional appendages.
Abstract: A software and hardware system is described that enables effective lifestyle management by providing a dynamic assessment of a user's physical and behavioral metrics via a high feedback ratio interface.
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing error detection in a network, and, more particularly, to methods, systems, and apparatuses for implementing error and/or fault detection in a network and/or media stream and providing options to address the error and/or fault in the network and/or media stream. In various embodiments, a computer might detect an error in a first network and send a notification indicating that the error has occurred. The notification might contain one or more options to address the error in the first network. The computer, a user device, a service provider device, or a content provider device might receive and display the notification containing the one or more options. The computer, the user device, the service provider device, or the content provider device might then select at least one of the one or more options to address the error in the first network.
