Abstract: An ultrasonic tip for fibrous tissue removal. The ultrasonic tip may be configured for at least torsional vibration and coupled to a distal end of a shaft of a surgical instrument with the shaft including a vibration conversion mechanism. The ultrasonic tip includes a plurality of slots extending between inner and outer circumferential surfaces to form a plurality of teeth. A depth of one of the slots at the outer circumferential surface is greater than a depth of the slot at the inner circumferential surface to define a sloped surface. The teeth include a cutting edge defined between the outer circumferential surface and a side surface defining the slot. The cutting edge includes a positive rake angle. The teeth may further include an inner cutting edge defined between the sloped surface and the inner circumferential surface with the inner cutting edge having a positive rake angle.

Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to applying, via contactless card authentication, one or more restrictions to a virtual card number and generating the card number for use by a recipient. The one or more restrictions may be specifically personalized to the recipient and may include, for example, a merchant restriction, an amount restriction, a time period restriction, or a location restriction. The generated virtual card number along with the applied one or more restrictions may be consumed in various ways, such as writing the number to a blank card, transmitting the number directly to the recipient's computing device, etc., all via near-field communication.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for target object position prediction includes receiving, via an RGB camera a plurality of images depicting one or more persons positioned on a floor. A plurality of person location labels is assigned to each image indicating where the one or more persons are located relative to the floor. A foot position (FP) classifier is trained to classify the images into the person location labels, wherein the FP classifier is configured according to a multi-layer architecture and the training results in determination of a plurality of weights for connecting layers in the multi-layer architecture. A deployment of the FP classifier is created based on the multi-layer architecture, the plurality of weights, and the plurality of person location labels.
Abstract: A wireless device may detect a beam failure on at least one beam. The at least one beam may be of a first cell. A beam failure recovery procedure may be started in response to the beam failure. The beam failure recovery procedure may comprise transmitting a recovery request for a first beam. A beam failure recovery timer for the beam failure recovery procedure may be started. The wireless device may determine a connection failure based on expiration of the beam failure recovery timer. The wireless device may transmit a radio link failure report to a first base station based on the connection failure. The radio link failure report may comprise an index of the first beam.

Abstract: Systems repair jet pump elbow joining structures like RS1 and RS2 welds. Systems include a base having legs that secure to ends of the elbow in different directions, and a drive plate that joins to flow conduits where they meet the elbow. The drive plate and base may then be pushed together, resulting in compression or joining of the elbow and flow conduit. Multiple drive plates may be used with a single base to compress multiple flow conduits to the base. The base and the drive plates can be driven together with a driving bolt extending through the base and driving plate. To provide a better fit, grooves can be created in the flow conduits through machining from the installed base. The drive plate may be seated into the groove to achieve a desired orientation with less slippage. Example embodiments and methods do not require welding or a welding base.
Abstract: A method including training two sets of item embeddings for items in an item catalog and a set of user embeddings for users, using a triple embeddings model, with triplets. The triplets each can include a respective first user of the users, a respective first item from the item catalog, and a respective second item from the item catalog, in which the respective first user selected the respective first item and the respective second item in a respective same basket. The method also can include generating an approximate nearest neighbor index for the two sets of item embeddings. The method additionally can include receiving a basket including basket items selected by a user from the item catalog. The method further can include grouping the basket items of the basket into categories based on a respective item category of each of the basket items. The method additionally can include randomly sampling a respective anchor item from each of the categories.

Abstract: A method for producing animal bedding is provided. A juniper tree is cut at ground level, the juniper tree having needles and a trunk. The tree is naturally dried until the needles are brown, then ground using a screen less than 3 inches. The ground juniper is hammer milled and dust of 20 mesh minus is extracted from the hammer milled tree, which is then placed in a bagging machine and dust is vacuumed from the juniper tree. The juniper tree is then bagged.
Abstract: A starter motor connected to a power supply and operable to start an internal combustion engine includes an outer housing and a solid state switching device associated with the outer housing. The outer housing encloses a commutator and a series of brushes. The solid state switching device is movable between an open position and a closed position. The current flow from the power supply through the commutator is prevented when the solid state switching device is in the open position.

Abstract: A system and method display two-dimensional (2D) and cube mapped (360) map environments divided into many different parts that are changeable over a network by end-users in real-time. Large portions of the images are filled with texture layers of different shapes and variants, so that a user can easily switch between the large portions. All of the large portions are saved on one or more render servers as a pack of digital images, and the end-users can communicate with the render servers to download the necessary portions of the images exactly when such portions are needed. The system and method utilize a set of rules that adaptively chooses the best way, in terms of computer performance, of composing the map environment and of changing the shapes and variants of the layers depending on a given environment.
