  • Publication number: 20210258804
Abstract: A method of adjusting operating configurations in a networking device to regulate thermal conditions in the networking device to be within a thermal range while optimizing service for the communication activity of networking device. Example implementations include analyzing communication activity of the one or more network interfaces to determine possible operating configurations to service the communication activity. In an example implementation, the possible operating configurations are learned based on the operating configurations and characteristics of the communication activity when the monitored thermal conditions leave and return the thermal range. Further, the one or more network interfaces of the device can be configured based on service levels for portions of the communication activity in order to regulate the thermal conditions.

  • Publication number: 20210256367
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing searches. During operation, the system determines features related to attributes of candidates and interactions of the candidates with an online system. Next, the system applies a static ranking machine learning model to the features to produce scores representing likelihoods of outcomes related to the candidates and stores rankings of the candidates by descending values of the scores in entries of an inverted index. During processing of a search of the candidates in the online system, the system retrieves a subset of the candidates with the values of the scores that exceed a threshold from a subset of the entries in the inverted index that match parameters of the search. Finally, the system aggregates the retrieved subset of candidates for use in subsequent ordering of the subset of candidates by one or more dynamic ranking models.

Abstract: In a method of video decoding in a decoder, a merge candidate list of a current coding block is constructed for processing the current coding block with a triangular prediction mode (TPM). The merge candidate list can include merge candidates each having one or two motion vectors. Each motion vector can be associated with a first reference picture list or a second reference picture list. A first motion vector and a second motion vector are determined from the motion vectors of the merge candidates on the merge candidate list. The current block is processed with the TPM with the first and second motion vectors as two motion vector predictors (MVPs) of two triangular partitions of the current coding block.

  • Publication number: 20210254292
Abstract: A crash cushion includes a number of spaced-apart supports or bulkheads, energy-absorbing modules positioned between the supports; and overlapping side panels that interconnect the supports and envelop the energy-absorbing modules. The crash cushion collapses upon itself in an accordion fashion when struck by a vehicle so as to transfer and absorb vehicle impact energy over a predetermined distance. The side panels are attached to the supports and to each other with fastener assemblies. Each fastener assembly comprises a slider bolt, a nut, and a spacer shim. The spacer shim maintain gaps between the slider bolts and the side panels so that the overlapping edges of adjacent side panels are not compressed together regardless of the torque applied to the slider bolt to allow the side panels to collapse and telescope together smoothly when the crash cushion is struck by a vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20210258688
Abstract: Systems and devices configured by an algorithm to prevent or limit a speaker over-excursion are disclosed. The disclosed algorithm is computationally efficient because it exploits a relationship between an audio signal and a speaker's excursion that exists at low-frequencies, below a self-resonance of a speaker. The disclosed algorithm combines the low-frequency excursion protection with a high-frequency, transient excursion protection. The combined approach allows the transient excursion protection to use a shorter delay than otherwise possible. The shorter delay allows for a compressor to apply attenuation to a transient audio signal before a momentum of the speaker, caused by the transient audio signal, grows too large to be controlled.
