Abstract: Provided is a system and method which enables a workflow to be tested while keeping the workflow active by cloning a copy of an underlying job and executing the cloned job in parallel with the underlying job. In one example, the method may include executing an original job on data in a production environment, where the original job comprises machine-readable code of a predefined flow, in response to receiving a simulation request, creating a clone of the original job which comprises an independent execution state from the original job, executing the cloned job for a limited number of runs on one or more events, and storing the processing results of the cloned job.

Abstract: Embodiments for a method of backing up virtual hard disks by: parsing a list of base parent and differencing disks to identify disk parameters and child disks of immediate parent disks; creating a differencing disk chain in reverse time order of modification of the base parent disk starting from the base parent disk to a latest child differencing disk; identifying changed sectors in each child disk starting from the latest child differencing disk; creating a list detailing a respective differencing disk, sector offsets and logical data sector index for each changed sector; iteratively adding updated sectors to the list for latest changed sectors that were not previously added to the list by a later child disk by reading the changed sectors from their respective child disk; and merging, in a single step, the changed sectors read from their respective child disks into the base parent disk.

Abstract: A vehicle exhaust system includes an exhaust component having an inner wall to define an internal cavity that provides an engine exhaust gas flow path from an inlet to an outlet. An injector is configured to spray a fluid into the internal cavity to mix with engine exhaust gas. An inlet baffle is mounted to the exhaust component adjacent the inlet and includes at least one scoop having a scoop length that is greater than a scoop width. The scoop includes a scoop opening that directs engine exhaust gas toward the inner wall of the internal cavity at a location that is upstream of spray injected by the injector.

Abstract: A radiation detection system may include a radiation source, and a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) radiation detector. The SPR radiation detector may include a structure, a surface plasmon support material on portions of the structure and configured to receive radiation from the radiation source that initiates a surface plasmon at an interface between the structure and the surface plasmon support material, and a probing device coupled to the structure and configured to detect the surface plasmon.

Abstract: Mechanisms (such as systems, methods, and media) for protecting a client device from an insecure cloud-based storage container stored on a server are provided, the mechanisms comprising: determining that content accessible by the client device is hosted in a storage container on the server; sending a message to the server to determine what security provisions are in place for the storage container; determining that the storage container is not secure; and blocking access by the client device to the storage container.

Abstract: The present invention relates to filled polymeric materials including a polymer and a filler distributed within the polymer, and to light weight composites which comprise at least a pair of metallic layers and a polymeric layer interposed between the pair of metallic layers, the polymeric layer containing the filled polymeric material. The composite materials of the present invention may be formed using conventional stamping equipment at ambient temperatures. Composite materials of the present invention may also be capable of being welded to other metal materials. The composite materials may be employed in an automotive part. Preferred composite materials include one or any combination of the following features: metallic fibers, ribbon fibers; or a polyolefin.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a high side heat exchanger, a heat exchanger, a flash tank, a first expansion valve, a second expansion valve, a load, a first compressor, and a second compressor. During a first mode of operation, the second expansion valve directs refrigerant from the flash tank to the load. The refrigerant from the load bypasses the first compressor. The heat exchanger transfers heat from the refrigerant from the high side heat exchanger to the refrigerant from the load. The second compressor compresses the refrigerant from the heat exchanger. During a second mode of operation, the first expansion valve directs refrigerant from the flash tank to the load. The first compressor compresses the refrigerant from the load and the second compressor compresses the refrigerant from the first compressor before the refrigerant from the first compressor reaches the high side heat exchanger.

One method includes receiving a query from the content provide including a plurality of parameters relating to interactions with a content item of the content provider. The method includes retrieving a set of log file records using the included plurality of parameters and generating a current set of records identifying interaction data with the content item. The method includes comparing the current set of records to a previous set of records generated by the one or more processors for a previous query from the content provider and determining a similarity between the current set of records and the previous set of records. The method includes modifying, if the similarity is above a threshold, the current set of records and providing the modified set of records to the content provider.

Abstract: Sensor data having values received from several sensors of a mobile device and response data associated with the sensor data may be used in the determination or training of a predictive model. Received sensor data may be input into the predictive model, and the output of the predictive model may be used in the selection and serving of content items to the mobile device. Data to effect presentation of the selected content item may be outputted to the mobile device to effect presentation. In some instances, the predictive model may be updated using the received plurality of values. The updated predictive model may be used in the selection of a subsequent content item for the mobile device. In other implementations, historical sensor data may be used with the set of received sensor data as input for the predictive model.
