Abstract: Pre-implantation factor (PIF) may be used to treat intracellular damage. Aspects of the invention are directed to a method of treating intracellular damage comprising administering PIF to a subject in need thereof. Some aspects may be directed to methods of increasing cytokine secretion in response to intracellular damage comprising administering PIF to a subject in need thereof. The intracellular damage may be a result of a disease such as Listeria monocytogenes infection, malaria, Lyme disease, cardiovascular disease, duodenal peptic ulcer, atherosclerosis, peritonitis or tuberculosis. In some aspects, a method of treating tuberculosis is disclosed, comprising administering PIF to a subject in need thereof. In some aspects, a method of treating atherosclerosis is disclosed, comprising administering PIF to a subject in need thereof. In some aspects, a method of treating peritonitis is disclosed, comprising administering PIF to a subject in need thereof.

Abstract: A method for delivering at least one replacement machine to replace at least one broken-down machine. The method includes providing a delivery system with at least one transport vehicle for transporting the at least one replacement machine and a controller. The method also includes receiving, by the controller, information that includes standby location variables and calculating, by the controller, a standby location for the at least one transport vehicle based upon the standby location variables. The method also includes sending, by the controller, the standby location to the at least one transport vehicle. The method further includes positioning, by the at least one transport vehicle, the at least one replacement machine at the standby location.

Abstract: A fuel cell system includes a dry end unit, a wet end unit and a plurality of fuel cells. The dry end unit has a dry base plate and a dry intermediate plate. The dry intermediate plate is initially moveable relative to the dry base plate during a fabrication of the fuel cell system. The wet end unit has a wet base plate and a wet intermediate plate. The wet intermediate plate adjoins the wet base plate. The plurality of fuel cells is disposed between the dry intermediate plate and the wet intermediate plate. Each of the plurality of fuel cells includes a perimeter area that surrounds an active area. The dry intermediate plate is fixed in position relative to the dry base plate during the fabrication to maintain the active areas of the plurality of fuel cells at a target active area pressure.

Abstract: A system and method for facilitating secure transfer of encrypted files and/or messages can facilitate the secure transfer of encrypted files to a receiving user. The system can include: a computer program for facilitating sending of an e-mail message to a receiving user, the e-mail message including at least a web address of a trusted provider and instructions about how to securely download encrypted files without the receiving user setting up an account or a password, the transfer of encrypted files being facilitated by a code sent to a telephone of the receiving user.

Abstract: A system is described including a mobile device that receives a user request to initiate a phone call to an entity associated with an interactive-voice-response (IVR) interface of an IVR system. The system obtains information about a hierarchy of options associated with the interactive-voice-response system and causes a graphical user interface (GUI) for navigating the hierarchy of options associated with the interactive-voice-response system to be displayed at the mobile device. The system converts user inputs associated with the GUI to inputs recognized by the IVR system and the mobile device outputs, to the entity, the converted inputs and other information required by the entity to perform an operation based on the inputs. In response, the system updates the GUI based on additional information received from the IVR system.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and apparatuses for managing scheduling requests in an unlicensed frequency band. These techniques include a user equipment receiving first and second configuration messages allocating radio resources for first and second logical channels, respectively, at a scheduling request (SR)-transmission occasion on first and second multiple-access (MA) channels, respectively, in the unlicensed frequency band (402, 404). In aspects, the user equipment detects that the first MA channel is busy and the second MA channel is idle (406). The user equipment transmits a scheduling request via the second radio resource (408) and initiates a timer for the second logical channel to prohibit transmission of an additional scheduling request via the second radio resource until expiration of the timer (410). The user equipment also determines whether to initiate another timer for the first logical channel based on a priority level of the first logical channel (414).

Abstract: A cruise control method to control a driven vehicle includes: determining projected speeds of the driven vehicle at each of the predetermined-upcoming locations; determining a plurality of following times at each of the predetermined-upcoming locations of the driven vehicle and the projected speeds of the followed vehicle; determining whether at least one of the plurality of following times is less than the predetermined-minimum time threshold; and in response to determining that at least one plurality of following times is less than the predetermined-minimum time threshold, commanding, by the controller, the propulsion system of the driven vehicle to decrease the commanded axle torque by a torque adjustment in order to prevent each of the plurality of following times at each of the predetermined-upcoming locations from being less than the predetermined-minimum time threshold.

Abstract: An aspect of performing flow control of IO in a synchronous replication session between a local storage and a remote storage of a storage system includes tracking an amount of time an input/output (IO) request is processed at the remote storage including an amount of time the IO request is in transmit to and from the remote storage system. The amount of time indicates a remote latency value. An aspect also includes tracking an amount of time the IO request is processed at the local storage and calculating a difference between the remote latency value and the amount of time the IO request is processed at the local storage. The difference indicates a local latency value. An aspect further includes modifying an amount of IO requests admitted at the storage system as a function of the local latency value.

Abstract: A method for capacity forecasting may include determining expected issues by averaging a number of each issue type submitted per a time period to predict a quantity of each issue type that will be submitted in a next time period, determining an expected issue capacity need in the future for each skill level of the assignees based on the expected issues, and determining assignee demand by averaging a number of each issue type assigned to each assignee per the time period. For each assignee, the method may include determining an expected assignee demand by identifying a number of the expected issues on which each assignee will be expected to work based on the expected issues and the assignee demand, determining an expected individual capacity based on the expected assignee demand, and determining assignments of issues to the assignee based on the expected issue capacity and the expected individual capacity.

Abstract: Pesticidal proteins exhibiting toxic activity against Lepidopteran pest species are disclosed, and include, but are not limited to, TIC6757, TIC6757PL, TIC7472, TIC7472PL, TIC7473, and TIC7473PL. DNA constructs are provided which contain a recombinant nucleic acid sequence encoding one or more of the disclosed pesticidal proteins. Transgenic plants, plant cells, seed, and plant parts resistant to Lepidopteran infestation are provided which contain recombinant nucleic acid sequences encoding the pesticidal proteins of the present invention. Methods for detecting the presence of the recombinant nucleic acid sequences or the proteins of the present invention in a biological sample, and methods of controlling Lepidopteran species pests using any of the TIC6757, TIC6757PL, TIC7472, TIC7472PL, TIC7473, and TIC7473PL pesticidal proteins are also provided.

When the handle is in the use position, the handle extends away from the front end of the frame and when the handle is in the storage position the handle extends toward the front end of the frame.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for workflow style governance includes creating a document and specifying a document style of the document—either a linear workflow style or a branched workflow style. Thereafter, in response to a subsequent request to load the document, the specified document style for the document may be retrieved and, on condition that the specified document style is a linear workflow style, a specified version of the document is retrieved into a document editor for editing as a new version of the document. But otherwise, on condition that the specified document style is a branched workflow style, different components of the document are retrieved as a composition of components, each of an independent version, and a selected one of the components of the composition of the components making up the document is then loaded into a component editor for editing as a new version.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a pair of support members, a cable, a rolling mechanism, a tackling bag and a pulley device. The pair of support members are fixedly coupled to a surface. The cable is attached to and extends between the pair of support members. The rolling mechanism is connected to the cable and configured to traverse the cable from a first end of the cable toward a second end of the cable. The tackling bag is attached to the rolling mechanism and configured to be propelled from one of the pair of support members toward the other of the pair of support members. The pulley device is coupled to the rolling mechanism and attached to the tackling bag. The pulley device is separated from the cable when the tackling bag is propelled from the one of the pair of support members toward the other of the pair of support members.

Abstract: Systems and methods that enable blending and aggregating multiple related datasets to a blended data model (BDM), manipulation of the resulting data model, and the representation of multiple parameters in a single visualization. The BDM and each visualization can be iteratively manipulated, in real-time, using a user-directed question-answer-question response so patterns can be revealed that are not obvious.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the field of combination therapy for treatment of hematological malignancy selected from myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The disclosure provides a combination therapy comprising plant based compounds and hypomethylating agent (HMA). Particularly, the disclosure provides a combination of: a) a therapeutically effective amount of a combination comprising sulforaphane, resveratrol and curcumin; and b) a therapeutically effective amount of HMA selected from azacitidine (AZA), decitabine (DEC) and a combination thereof, for treating MDS or AML. Said combination provides an enhanced/synergistic effect in the treatment of MDS or AML along with decreasing or overcoming resistance to HMA (azacitidine or decitabine). Methods for decreasing or overcoming resistance to HMA (azacitidine or decitabine), corresponding use of the above described combination and a kit comprising said combination are also provided.

Abstract: Examples of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a body portion of a golf club head may include a front portion. A face portion may be coupled to the front portion. The face portion may include a central strike portion and a perimeter. A plurality of projections may extend from the face portion to provide a ball striking surface for impacting a golf ball. The plurality of projections may be aligned in one or more directions across the face portion and may increase in size in one or more directions from the central strike portion to the perimeter of the face portion. Abstract: Disclosed are compositions and methods for multilayer films, which, in one embodiment may include a core layer comprising a polyethylene stabilizer optionally in a masterbatch solution and at least 50 wt. % of high-density polyethylene. Further, the multilayer film may include a first skin layer comprising at least 90 wt. % ethylene-propylene polymer and antiblock, and a second skin layer consisting of an ethylene-propylene copolymer or terpolymer. Further still, the multilayer film may include a primer layer on the second skin, an aqueous barrier layer of ethylene vinyl alcohol polymer, polyvinyl alcohol polymer, or combinations thereof on the primer layer. And, further still, multilayer film may include a metallization layer on the aqueous barrier layer, wherein the multilayer film may be oriented in at least one direction.

Abstract: A pin assembly for a component, such as a trunnion bracket, includes a pin received in pin hole of the component, and a retainer received in a retainer opening of the component to releasably secure the pin in the pin hole. The retainer can be secured to the pin, such that the pin and lock assembly rotate as a single component.

Abstract: This invention is a wearable device or system for measuring food consumption using multiple sensors which are incorporated into smart glasses, a smart watch (or wrist band), or both. These sensors include one or more cameras on the smart glasses, on the smart watch, or both which record food images when eating is detected by a motion sensor, an EMG sensor, and/or a microphone. The smart watch (or wrist band) can also include a spectroscopic sensor to analyze the molecular and/or nutritional composition of food.
