Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for determining the intent of a recommendation made by a user of a mobile application where the application includes a plurality of separable components, any one or more of which the recommendation can apply to. An application in which a user recommendation control is provided for presentation to a user also includes a tag indicating how a recommendation of the application should be interpreted with respect to the components included therein. The tag can be set by the application developer and can be in the form of text (e.g., a keyword or term) or a uniform resource locator (URL). Where a tag references multiple components of an application, a recommending user can be presented with a recommendation intent query. The recommendation intent query allows a user to designate one or more components of the application to which the user's recommendation should be attributed.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a browser extension system are disclosed. In some embodiments, a browser extension server includes a communication device configured to communicate with a first computing device executing a browser extension application and a web browser application and a second computing device executing an authentication application. The browser extension server further includes a memory storing instructions, and a processor configured to execute the instructions to perform operations. The operations may include receiving from the first computing device an indication of a financial service account associated with the first computing device, detecting a payment field in a web page provided by the computing device through the web browser application and, in response, generating a secure token mapped to the financial service account.

Abstract: A security system comprises a personal digital key (PDK), a reader and a computing device. The PDK is a portable, personal transceiver that includes a controller and one or more passwords or codes. The computing device includes a detection engine, vault storage and a set up module. The detection engine detect events relating to the access of any files and third-party systems by the computing device and receives information from the reader as to whether the PDK is present/linked. The detection engine controls whether a user is able to access any of the functionality provided by the computing device based upon whether the PDK is in communication with the reader or not. The present invention also includes a number of methods such as a method for initializing the security system, a method for setting up a computing device, and a method for controlling access to computing resources.

Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for optimizing the narrative text generated by one or more narrative frameworks that utilize data input from one or more data sources to drive the creation of a narrative text output. Narrative text is generated in accordance with sets of data that provide the scope of text to be generated. A Quality Assurance module presents the narrative text output to a user that reviews both the condition and the logic evaluation associated with the scope, and the quality of the generated text. A log of Quality Assurance items is created upon review of the generated text. These items are then later resolved by locating them in a narrative text generation data structure to resolve the identified issues.

Abstract: A vehicle component joining method includes, among other things, positioning a contact side of a first component adjacent a contact side of a second component, inserting a mechanical fastener into a cavity of the first component, and rotating the mechanical fastener to drive the mechanical fastener through an interface between the contact sides of the first and second components. The interface is disposed along an interface plane and the mechanical fastener is driven through the interface in a direction that is nonperpendicular to the interface plane.

Abstract: A system and method for sealing openings in a body of a patient made by a medical procedure or non-medical event. The opening may be formed in soft tissue, internal organs, or hard tissue. A coaxial needle is inserted into a patient and a coagulating agent is inserted into the patient via the coaxial needle. The coagulating agent is discharged adjacent to the opening and the coaxial needle is inserted to a surgical depth. Following the procedure, the coaxial needle is retracted to a plug discharging depth. A bioabsorbable plug in at least a partially dehydrated state is then discharged from the coaxial needle and the coaxial needle is removed. The plug resides at least partially within the opening in the organ or tissue created by the coaxial needle. The combination of the coagulating agent and the expandable plug seals the opening created by the coaxial needle.

Abstract: Wellness equipment is provided in the form of an incliner apparatus that can also serve as furniture. The incliner apparatus includes a body support structure and at least one ground engaging rocker coupled to the body support structure to support a user at a variable angular orientation or pitch in response to a position of the user on the body support structure. The incliner apparatus is configured such that the body support structure may assume a horizontal configuration when the incliner apparatus is in a state of equilibrium, and such that the body support structure may assume a declined configuration or an inclined configuration when the user lies on the body support structure with a center of gravity of the user offset from a central reference plane of the incliner apparatus.

Abstract: A semi-trailer wheel restraint system having at least one bearing or swivel, or a combination of bearing(s) and swivel(s), and one or more cable sections and one or more hub cab attachments for receipt into one or more wheel assemblies and through a hollow core of the trailer's axle. During a wheel bearing failure, the wheel restraint system keeps the loose wheel assembly near the end of the axle by anchoring it to the opposite-end's hub cap, thereby preventing a run-away wheel assembly and providing an operator of the truck an opportunity to safely stop the rig.

Abstract: A method, device, and system for prioritizing insertion of targeted advertisements within advertisement time slots of a video program are provided. CPE detects whether or not an electronic personal device of a viewer of the video program is within a pre-defined viewing range of a display of the video program while the video program is being played and thereafter determines whether or not a detected electronic personal device remains within the viewing range during an advertisement time slot within the video program during the playing of a targeted advertisement. The CPE is configured to increase a priority of insertion of a previously played targeted advertisement within a next or subsequent advertisement time slot within the video program if the electronic personal device of the viewer is determined not to remain within the viewing range during the previous playing of the targeted advertisement.

Abstract: Engines, systems, devices, software, and methods of the present invention provide increased fuel efficiency and emission performance. The engine may include a magnesium alloy cast engine block cast as a mono-block with or without a ceramic inner core and including one or more cylinders designed to provide compression ratio of 10:1 to 14:1. Each cylinder may include one or more laser igniters, one or more supercritical fuel injectors configured to inject the fuel near or in a supercritical state, and carbon dioxide, which may be in the form of engine exhaust gas. The fuel may be diesel, gasoline, or other suitable hydrocarbons that may be cracked into smaller molecules prior to be injected into the cylinder.

Abstract: Technologies are disclosed for identifying firmware functions that were executed in a call chain prior to the occurrence of an error condition, such as an assert or an exception. In particular, a search is made from an instruction pointer (“IP”) for a memory address containing a signature identifying a firmware module. The firmware module that includes a function that generated the error condition can be identified based on the memory address. The name of the function that generated the error condition can be identified using a function mapping file. Previous functions in the same call chain are identified and their names determined using the function mapping file. Output can then be generated that includes the name of the firmware module that includes the function that generated the error condition, the name of the function that generated the error condition, and the names of other functions in the same call chain.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for monitoring and controlling electronic devices using wired and wireless protocols are disclosed. The systems and apparatus may monitor their environment for signals from electronic devices. The systems and apparatus may take and disambiguate the signals that are received from the devices in their environment to identify the devices and associate control signals with the devices. The systems and apparatus may use communication means to send control signals to the identified electronic devices. Multiple apparatuses or systems may be connected together into networks, including mesh networks, to make for a more robust architecture.

Abstract: One general aspect includes a system to modify an image feed from a second camera of a vehicle, the system includes a memory configured to include one or more executable instructions and a processor configured to execute the executable instructions, where the executable instructions enable the processor to receive a first image feed from a first camera located on the vehicle; monitor one or more image characteristics of the first image feed; receive the second image feed from the second camera located on the vehicle; and based on the monitored one or more image characteristics of the first image feed, modify the second image feed such that one or more image characteristics of the second image feed are substantially similar to the monitored one or more image characteristics of the first image feed.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for managing data in a non-volatile memory (NVM) of a storage device, such as a solid-state drive (SSD). In some embodiments, flash memory cells are arranged along word lines to which read voltages are applied to sense programmed states of the memory cells, with the flash memory cells along each word line being configured to concurrently store multiple pages of data. An encoder circuit is configured to apply error correction encoding to input data to form code words having user data bits and code bits, where an integral number of the code words are written to each page. A reference voltage calibration circuit is configured to randomly select a single selected code word from each page and to use the code bits from the single selected code word to generate a set of calibrated read voltages for the associated page.
