Abstract: A casing scraper can include extendable scraper elements, and an actuator that extends the scraper elements after the actuator retracts the scraper elements. The actuator extends the scraper elements and retracts the scraper elements after application of respective pressure differentials in a well. A method of operating a casing scraper can include extending scraper elements into contact with an interior surface of a casing after a predetermined pressure differential is applied without obstructing an interior flow passage, and then retracting the scraper elements after another predetermined pressure differential is applied. A well system can include a casing scraper with one or more extendable scraper elements, and an actuator that operates in response to manipulation of pressure differentials. The actuator operates the casing scraper only after at least a predetermined pressure differential has been applied for at least a predetermined period of time.
Abstract: Storage virtualization techniques allow files and directories to be stored remotely, for example, by a cloud storage provider, but in a manner that appears to a user or application running on a local computing device as if the files are stored locally—even though the data of those files and directories may not be resident on the local computing device. That is, the contents of files and directories that may exist in the cloud look and behave as if they were stored locally on a computing device. The level of hydration of placeholders may be monitored and operations may be performed to reduce the impact of excessive hydration on the resources of the computing device.

Abstract: A ride system includes a platform assembly that receives a ride vehicle for transporting a ride passenger, an upward drive pulley system, and a downward drive pulley system. Abstract: An apparatus deploys and retrieves a wear bushing in a wellhead during the same trip, such as when using a bottom hole assembly for drilling. Arms in the form of pistons, levers, dogs, etc. can be moved between retracted and extended conditions on the apparatus using actuations from remote communications. When extended, the arms engage inside the wear bushing or inside an adapter disposed in the bushing. When retracted, the arms lie within the exterior of the tool to avoid wear and damage when the drillstring is used for drilling or other operations. During deployment, the bushing supported on the extended arms is seated in the wellhead. The arms are then retracted through remote activation, and the bottom hole assembly is run further downhole. During retrieval, the retracted arms are extended through remote activation and engage in the bushing so the drillstring can lift the bushing from the wellhead.
Abstract: As shown in the drawings for purposes of illustration, a method and system for making physical modifications to intraocular targets is disclosed. In varying embodiments, the method and system disclosed herein provide many advantages over the current standard of care. Specifically, linear absorption facilitated photodecomposition and linear absorption facilitated plasma generation to modify intraocular tissues and synthetic intraocular lenses.
Abstract: A fiber optic cassette including a body defining a front and an opposite rear and an enclosed interior. A cable entry location is defined in the body for a cable to enter the interior of the cassette. The cable which enters at the cable entry location is attached to the cassette body and the fibers are extended into the cassette body and form terminations at connectors. The connectors are connected to adapters located at the front of the cassette. A front side of the adapters defines termination locations for cables to be connected to the fibers connected at the rear of the adapters. A cable including a jacket, a strength member, and fibers enters the cassette. The strength member is crimped to a crimp tube and is mounted to the cassette body, allowing the fibers to extend past the crimp tube into the interior of the cassette body. A strain relief boot is provided at the cable entry location.

Abstract: Pest-repellent pallet slip sheets for preventing or reducing rodent or pest damage to goods placed on pallets or other locations. The pest-repellent pallet slip sheets generally include slip sheets designed for placement on the top portion of a pallet, such that the slip sheet covers substantially the entire pallet. The slip sheets may be treated with repellent substance all over, randomly, or in a pattern such that a specific portion, or all, of the slip sheet is treated with the pest-repellent substance. The pattern may be produced, for example, by feeding slip sheet material past an application device at a given rate of speed, and then intermittently interrupting the application of the pest-repellent substance if an intermittent pattern is desired. A colored dye may be added to the pest-repellent substance to create a visible indication of a pattern or treated area.
Abstract: Limiting replay of load-based control independent (CI) instructions in speculative misprediction recovery in a processor. In misprediction recovery, load-based CI instructions are designated as load-based CI, data dependent (CIDD) instructions if a load-based CI instruction consumed forwarded-stored data of a store-based instruction. During the misprediction recovery, replayed load-based CIDD instructions will reevaluate an accurate source of memory load the correct data instead of consuming potentially faulty data that may have been forwarded by a store-based instruction that may have only existed in a mispredicted instruction control flow path. Limiting the replay of load-based CI instructions to only determined CIDD load-based instructions can reduce execution delay and power consumption in an instruction pipeline.

In one aspect, a method includes the action of accessing voice query log data that includes voice queries spoken by a particular user. The actions further include based on the voice query log data that includes voice queries spoken by a particular user, determining a pause threshold from the voice query log data that includes voice queries spoken by the particular user. The actions further include receiving, from the particular user, an utterance. The actions further include determining that the particular user has stopped speaking for at least a period of time equal to the pause threshold. The actions further include based on determining that the particular user has stopped speaking for at least a period of time equal to the pause threshold, processing the utterance as a voice query.

Abstract: A control node enables distributed grid control. The control node monitors power generation and power demand at a point of common coupling (PCC) between a utility power grid and all devices downstream from the PCC. The control node can have one or more consumer nodes, which can be or include customer premises, and one or more energy sources connected downstream. The control node monitors and controls the interface via the PCC from the same side of the PCC as the power generation and power demand.
