Abstract: A system and method for synchronized video logging and playback of auction activity is disclosed. A particular embodiment includes: establishing, by use of a data processor and a data network, a data connection with at least one auction site; gathering auction data and video streams from the auction site; synchronizing the video streams with corresponding auction data; presenting a user interface to a user, the user interface enabling the user to select a desired portion of the auction data; and rendering the selected portion of the auction data along with a corresponding synchronized video clip from a video stream from the auction site.

Abstract: A method and system for adding overtly human-perceptible supplemental audio content into a media stream to help mask audio effects of an audio watermark in the media stream. A method involves receiving a media stream that defines a sequence of audio content presentable by a content presentation device, modifying the media stream to produce a modified media stream that defines the sequence of audio content, and outputting the modified media stream for presentation by the content presentation device. The modified media stream includes an audio watermark that is machine-detectable to trigger an interactive event. Further, the act of modifying the media stream involves adding into the media stream supplemental audio content coincident with the audio watermark, to help mask the audio watermark in the modified media stream during presentation of the modified media stream by the content presentation device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for monitoring and controlling electronic devices using wired and wireless protocols are disclosed. The systems and apparatus may monitor their environment for signals from electronic devices. The systems and apparatus may take and disambiguate the signals that are received from the devices in their environment to identify the devices and associate control signals with the devices. The systems and apparatus may use communication means to send control signals to the identified electronic devices. Multiple apparatuses or systems may be connected together into networks, including mesh networks, to make for a more robust architecture.

Abstract: Wireless communications are described. A wireless device and/or a base station may provide improved resource management. A base station may configure and/or transmit a beam failure recovery medium access control control element (BFR MAC CE) to a wireless device to configure particular cells to use particular assigned candidate beams from a pool of shared candidate beams during beam failure recovery operations. The BFR MAC CE may provide orthogonality in beams that may be designated for use by active cells out of a shared pool of beams that may not be orthogonal across all potentially available cells.

Abstract: A computing device includes main volatile memory and a node. The node includes a central processing module, non-volatile memory; and a non-volatile memory interface unit. A combination of the non-volatile memory and the main volatile memory stores an application specific operating system and at least a portion of a computing device operating system. The application specific operating system includes a plurality of application specific system level operations and the computing device operating system includes a plurality of general system level operations. A first processing module of the central processing module operates in accordance with a selected operating system and ignores operation not included in the selected operating system. The selected operating system includes one or more selected application specific level operations of the application specific operating system.

Abstract: The present invention overcomes the inadequacies inherent in the known methods for generating libraries of antibody-encoding polynucleotides by specifically designing the libraries with directed sequence and length diversity. The libraries are designed to reflect the preimmune repertoire naturally created by the human immune system, with or without DH segments derived from other species, and are based on rational design informed by examination of publicly available databases of antibody sequences.

Abstract: Implementations disclose a handoff feature for a content sharing platform. A method includes maintaining a session history of a session that occurred at a first client device, the session history identified by a visit identifier (ID) and comprising a set of recently-watched content items on a content sharing platform, determining that a user associated with the session is active on a second client device, transmitting, to the second client device, a session continuation notification associated with the visit ID and a navigation end-point of the session, receiving, from the second client device, a request for a watch page user interface (UI) of a content item corresponding to the navigation end-point of the session, and transmitting, to the second client device, instructions to load the watch page UI and to request additional components of the watch page UI using the visit ID.

Abstract: A stackable food storage unit comprises a plurality of stackable compartments, a cover plate, and an attachment mechanism. Each of the plurality of stackable compartments are removably attached to each other through the at least one attachment mechanism. Since each of the stackable compartments are pressed against each other, a user can freeze a preferred food item in between a first compartment and a second compartment from the plurality of stackable compartments. The cover plate can be removably attached to a topmost compartment of the plurality of stackable compartments. Thus, a food item can be stored in between the cover plate and the topmost compartment. The size, shape, and volume of each of the plurality of stackable compartments can vary. The material used for manufacturing each of the plurality of stackable compartments is temperature resistant.

Abstract: A vehicle-to-vehicle communication system includes a controller programmed to digitally sign each of a plurality of basic safety messages (BSMs) using a private key and broadcast each of the BSMs via the transceiver at respective transmit power levels according to a predetermined power level sequence that is defined by one or more values generated from the private key.

Abstract: A drug-eluting self-retaining suture comprises a filament, a plurality of retainers, and a drug impregnated in or coated on the filament. The shape and distribution of retainers modifies the in vivo release kinetics of the drug. The drug release kinetics may be modified uniformly or region by region. The self-retaining suture may for example be used for reattaching severed nerves and release nerve growth factor or other regeneration accelerating agents into the region of the nerve injury.

Abstract: Embodiments of an electric linear actuator may include a roller screw assembly, an electric motor coupled to the roller screw assembly, and a linear transducer operatively coupled with the roller screw assembly. The motor may be configured to drive the roller screw assembly to extend and retract another component, such as a rod. In some embodiments, the linear transducer may be configured to detect a position of the rod. The roller screw assembly may be coupled directly to the motor via a gear coupling, with the motor disposed generally in axial alignment with the roller screw assembly. Other embodiments disclosed herein include a veneer lathe carriage with electric linear actuators and corresponding apparatuses, methods, and systems.

Abstract: A semiconductor device is disclosed including a memory module formed from a pair of semiconductor dies mounted face to face to each other at the wafer level. These die pairs are formed using wafer-to-wafer bonding technology, where the wafers may be bonded to each other when they are of full thickness. The semiconductor device may further include a CMOS logic circuit as part of the pair of semiconductor dies or in its own semiconductor die mounted to the pair of semiconductor dies.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a first connector, a second connector and a connector assembly having the first connector and the second connector. The first connector comprises an insulating base, two first conductive members fixed on the insulating base, a first magnetic attraction ring sheathing the insulating base, and a switch assembly fixed in the insulating base. The second connector comprises an insulating body, two second conductive members fixed on the insulating body, a second magnetic attraction ring sheathing an outer circumference of the insulating body, and a cover further sheathing an outer circumference of the second magnetic attraction ring. The first connector and the second connector can achieve a function of 360 degree mating and charging. The first connector integrates charging function and switch function which can save one connector, save space and cost in a small electronic device, facilitates miniaturization of the electronic device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus include receiving a moving pictures experts group (MPEG) dynamic adaptive streaming over hypertext transfer protocol (DASH) media presentation description (MPD) file that includes a range of media bandwidth values. A service descriptor is inserted in the MPEG-DASH MPD file that specifies a maximum bandwidth value of the range of media bandwidth values. The MPEG-DASH MPD file that includes the service descriptor is provided to a client device to permit the client device to limit a bandwidth usage of the client device in association with the multimedia streaming content.

Abstract: A method of video decoding performed in a video decoder is provided. A bit stream including syntax elements is received. The syntax elements correspond to coefficients of a region of a transform skipped block in a coded picture. The syntax elements include a first flag indicating whether an absolute coefficient level of one of the coefficients is greater than 0, and a second flag indicating a parity of the absolute coefficient level of the one of the coefficients. The second flag is decoded based on an equal probability model.

Abstract: A pre-distorted electrical excitation signal is generated for an acoustic transducer having an armature and a non-linear transfer characteristic by applying an electrical input signal (x) representative of a desired acoustic output to a computable non-linear function that is a function of the electrical input signal (x). When applied to an input of the transducer, the pre-distorted electrical excitation signal results in an improved acoustic output signal.

Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium and apparatus for predicting mortality of a current patient are disclosed. For example, the method includes receiving data associated with a plurality of different patients with known mortality outcomes, wherein the data includes a subset of data for each one of a plurality of different measurement timepoints for each one of the plurality of different patients, calculating n number of classifiers, wherein n is equal to a number of the plurality of different measurement timepoints, receiving data associated with the current patient at an i-th measurement timepoint, predicting the current patient has a high mortality risk based on an output of the i-th classifier of the n number of classifiers and transmitting a signal to a health administration server to cause an alarm to be generated in response to the high mortality risk that is predicted.

Abstract: A concentrated lipid-based solution including tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is manufactured by providing a lipid solution including an array of triglycerides, cannabinoids and water soluble contaminants in a pressure vessel. Water is added to the lipid solution to create a mixture and the pressure is increased in a first phase at a first pressure and duration and in a second phase at a second temperature and duration. The mixture is agitated to dissolve the water soluble contaminants. The mixture is cooled to cause the triglycerides and cannabinoids to solidify. The solidified triglycerides and cannabinoids, including THC, are separated to yield a purified cannabinoid solution.
