  • Publication number: 20130164131
Abstract: A rotary wing system with a rotating blade and a fluid damper with a damper fluid in a first variable volume chamber and a second variable volume chamber, with a fluid damping flow valve controlled conduit and a fluid flow pressure sensing control valve assembly between the first variable volume chamber and the second variable volume chamber. The fluid flow pressure sensing control valve assembly has a fluid flow pressure sensing control valve assembly control valve for obstructing a damper fluid flow through the fluid damping flow valve controlled conduit. A working of the first variable volume chamber and the second variable volume chamber by rotary wing motions actuates the opening of the fluid flow pressure sensing control valve assembly control valve that obstructs the damper fluid flow through the fluid damping flow valve controlled conduit.

  • Patent number: 8360728
Abstract: A system for balancing an aircraft propeller system receives a vibration signal from the aircraft propeller system and determines whether the vibration signal indicates a transient vibration condition. If it is determined that the vibration signal does not indicate a transient condition, the system enables a balance correction controller. The controller generates a balance correction signal based on the vibration signal, and balances the aircraft propeller system in response to the balance correction signal if the balance correction controller is enabled.

  • Patent number: 8356977
Abstract: The rotary damper for controlling helicopter motions includes an outer canister with an inner paddle wheel receiving cavity which receives an inner paddle wheel with upper and lower elastomeric tubular intermediate members between the inner paddle wheel and the outer canister. The canister and inner paddle wheel form neighboring variable volume chambers in liquid communication through liquid damping conduits. A clockwise rotation of the inner paddle wheel about the center of rotation axis relative to the outer canister pumps damper liquid from a second variable volume chamber through a first liquid conduit towards a first variable volume chamber, and a counterclockwise rotation of the paddle wheel relative to the outer canister pumps the damper liquid from the first variable volume chamber through the first liquid conduit towards the second variable volume chamber with the elastomeric tubular intermediate members providing for the relative rotation and containing the damper liquid in the damper.
