Abstract: A hand-operated, reciprocating slide hammer device for splitting wood or other workpieces. The splitter comprises an outer, elongated sleeve that internally receives a rigid, elongated tool control shaft. The sleeve is equipped with handles for gripping by a user so it may be first manually lifted upwardly and then forcibly drawn downwardly. An internal weight coaxially disposed at the sleeve top periodically slams the shaft when the sleeve is hammered downwardly. Alternate cutting tools including wedges, a root cutter, and an asphalt hammer, are disclosed. The selected tool is removably coupled to the shaft through a quick release collar system. The selected tool is manually placed in engagement with the workpiece, and thereafter pounded into the target as the sleeve vigorously hammers the shaft downwardly. Smooth, jam-free operation is insured by critical alignment guides disposed within an annulus between the shaft and the sleeve, and a venting orifice that facilitates periodic oiling.
Abstract: In combination with a cylindrical housing, a closure cap including a transverse end wall and cylindrical shell defining a bore and open end. A sealing device arranged between the bore and open end has an outer cylindrical sealing surface mating with an inner cylindrical sealing surface on the housing. A coupling device is arranged between the closure cap and cylindrical housing and includes three spiral webs on the inner surface of the closure cap shell between a first and second transverse plane. The first plane is remote from the end wall and the second plane is close to the end wall, each web having respective ends in the first and second plane, the ends in the first plane being circumferentially spaced from the ends in the second plane by an angle of less than 120 degrees. Three guide lugs radially extend from the cylindrical housing for engagement with the webs, the guide lugs being circumferentially spaced from each other by an angle of about 120 degrees.

Abstract: A device for coating a paper web includes two applicator rolls disposed parallel to one another, forming a roll gap for the passage of a paper web therethrough. At least one applicator for applying a coating onto a surface of at least one of the rolls is also provided. The coating roll thereafter transfers the coating onto one side of a paper web disposed in the roll gap. Guide elements disposed downstream of the roll gap with respect to a direction of travel of the paper web through the device include at least one beam-like air guide element adapted to create an air cushion-between the paper web and a surface of the air guide element facing the paper web. The air guide element is disposed in such a manner as to deflect a paper web at least once downstream the roll gap. At least one air guide element is disposed directly downstream of the roll gap at a distance from the roll gap of about 0.3 times to about 1 time the diameter of at least one of the rolls.

The pump attachment unit is comprised of a series of concentric annular rings for an oil seal and thrust bearing and for pump attachment. The pump drive shaft slides over and is keyed to the engine drive shaft and has an annular lip for mating with the thrust bearing. The pump wobble plate is bolted to the lower end of the pump drive shaft.
Abstract: A positive internal latch lock for an injection mold having outer, intermediate, and inner plates movable between open and closed mold positions. The latch lock includes a mechanism for securing the outer and intermediate plates at a predetermined spaced distance when the mold is opened at a first parting line between the outer and intermediate plates. Further, the latch lock provides a mechanism for locking the intermediate and inner plates together until the outer and intermediate plates are secured at the predetermined spaced distance. After the outer and intermediate plates are secured, the intermediate and inner plates are allowed to open at a second parting line.

Abstract: A signal transmission system includes one or more signal transmitting units, one or more signal receiving units and a medium adapted for the transmission of selected signals. A transmitted signal carries a number of signal elements which have been allocated to the same or different categories. A number of signal elements that have been allocated to the same category can be coordinated in a receiving unit to form predetermined information. The system includes a unit to increase the number of signal elements that have been allocated to one category (CTS) at the cost of the number of signal elements that have been allocated to another category (DTS) and/or a third category, and so on, or alternatively to carry out one or more selected functions within equipment connected to the receiving unit.

Abstract: The apparatus includes a mobile receiver for digital audio broadcasting. The transmission process is substantially entirely digital and a whole frequency range is used for the terrestrial transmission. The apparatus includes a receiver for a digital radio signal, particularly wherein the filter coefficient is changeable by a control circuit which generates a first value for the filter coefficient to get the real signal component and thereafter generates a second value for the imaginary signal component, whereby with the switching over of the first and second values for the filter coefficient a simultaneous downsampling of the digital signal is performed.
