  • Patent number: 7769719
Abstract: A method and system for replicating a file system organized as a data structure from a source server to a target server. The replication process preserves the order of the inode table entries from the source file system to in the target file system at all stages of the replication process, as well as the internal consistency of the replica of the data structure on the target server. This replication eliminates use and employment of a map as the order of the inode index is preserved during the replication process.

  • Patent number: 7769919
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and program product access memory resources of a computer using a group of direct access memory (DMA) devices. A first DMA device is designated a primary device after association with an active translation table (ATT), while a second DMA device is designated a backup device after association with an inactive translation table (ITT). A translation is entered into the ATT for the first DMA device to permit it to perform a DMA operation, while a translation is inhibited from being entered into the ITT for a second DMA device to prevent it from performing a DMA operation. Thereafter, the roles of the first and second DMA devices may be swapped by associating the first DMA device with the ITT and associating the second DMA device with the ATT. • Patent number: 7767541
Abstract: A semiconductor structure that includes a monocrystalline germanium-containing layer, preferably substantially pure germanium, a substrate, and a buried insulator layer separating the germanium-containing layer from the substrate. A porous layer, which may be porous silicon, is formed on a substrate and a germanium-containing layer is formed on the porous silicon layer. The porous layer may be converted to a layer of oxide, which provides the buried insulator layer. Alternatively, the germanium-containing layer may be transferred from the porous layer to an insulating layer on another substrate. • Patent number: 7765673
Abstract: A method and system for improving power distribution and/or current measurement on a printed circuit board is disclosed. According to the invention, a first power plane adapted for current measurement includes a first segment to which a current source is connected and a second segment to which other devices may be connected, forming the current load. A third segment is used to measure the current between the first segment and the second segment through two vias that link two points of the third segment to, preferably, two pads of the external layer. In a preferred embodiment, vias are connected to the first segment so that current flow in the third segment is linear, to improve and simplify current determination. The resistivity between the pair of vias may be computed or estimated using calibrated currents.

  • Patent number: 7769891
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system are provided for selecting, from a plurality of routes through the data processing system, a direct route for transmitting data. Data that includes address information is received at a first processor that is to be transmitted to a destination processor. Using routing table data structures, direct route entries are identified that correspond to direct routes for transmitting data. An accessed priority table data structure comprises a priority entry for each entry in the routing table data structures. The priority entry specifies a priority of a corresponding entry in the routing table data structures. A direct route entry is selected that corresponds to a direct route from the routing table data structures, based on specified priorities. Then the data is transmitted from the first processor to the destination processor using a path corresponding to the selected direct route entry.
