Abstract: An air cleaner assembly and a filter element reduce wall noise by rigidly coupling the movement of opposing air cleaner housing sidewalls through the installed filter element. The sidewalls are rigidly coupled through the filter element with the sidewalls coupled to move together in unison such that wall deflection forces created by the pressure pulsations tend to cancel each resulting in improved dynamic stiffening of the air cleaner walls and reduced wall noise.

The ceramic body has a mass ratio TiO2:Al2O3 that is in a range between approximately 0.75 and approximately 0.95.
Abstract: A filter medium for removing particles from a fluid flow has a pre-filter layer and a fine-filter layer joined to each other in the flow direction. A first supporting layer is attached to the unfiltered side of the pre-filter layer and a second supporting layer is attached to the filtered side of the fine-filter layer in order to absorb the longitudinal and transverse forces in the event of tensile loading. The traverse force absorbing layer has a greater bending stiffness in a traverse direction while the longitudinal force absorbing layer has a greater bending stiffness in a longitudinal direction.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for positioning and assembly of two or more parts wherein at least one of which is of a creep sensitive material. The method and apparatus enable very precise positioning of parts during assembly by holding a rough alignment with free play permitting finer alignment. Creep resistant annular inserts are molded into the part and provided with flow apertures to conduct plastic material into the annular insert bore. A spindle defined the geometry of a centering hole within the bore during molding. The annular inserts are operable as compression limiters to prevent deformation of the creep sensitive material under the action of heat or tightening stresses.
Abstract: A housing for a filter element includes a fluid inlet and a deflector arrangement leading the fluid to be filtered towards the filter element. The invention further relates to a filter including a housing; a filter element arranged within the housing and dividing the space inside the housing into a first and second chamber, the inlet in communication with the first chamber. Pressure loss is advantageously reduced due to the deflector arrangement Meanwhile, by distributing the deflecting parts of said deflector arrangement evenly, the uniformity of velocity at the surface of filter element is also improved, while the occurrence of inefficiency of filtration or the like decreases.
