Abstract: In electronic systems for power adjustment in motor vehicles, conventional mechanical linkages or Bowden cables are replaced or supplemented by the transmission of electric signals. Such an electronic power adjustment device contains a control unit (6) which acts on the power adjustor (9) via an electric actuator (8). In order to influence the engine power, an accelerator pedal (5) is provided as a setpoint generator. In a converter (7), the accelerator pedal position is converted into an electric signal which is supplied to the control unit (6). During the starting of the vehicle, a driving authorization control is carried out. The vehicle engine can already be started during the driving authorization control, but accelerator pedal position is taken into account by the control unit (6) only when the driving authorization control is concluded positively. This ensures both a reliable control of driving authorization and comfortable and reliable starting of the vehicle engine by an authorized driver.
Abstract: A magnetically sensitive sensor for counting pulses for measuring rotational speeds and angular positions of a rotating component via a pulse transmitter connected for rotating with the rotating component automatically adapts its switching points to the respective measurement location conditions. A logic unit initiates automatic adaptation of the switching points from an original state when an operating parameter first exceeds a limit value after the supply voltage of the sensor turned on. The original state is not preset or is coarsely preset. The configuration of the switching points is then stored in a non-volatile data memory specifically for the sensor.

Abstract: In an impeller of a feed pump designed as a side channel pump, each of the vane chambers are divided into two sectors which are arranged in an undercut-free design relative to a direction perpendicular to the end face of the impeller. When the impeller is manufactured from plastic by injection molding, the sectors may be produced by projections arranged on mold halves intended for the manufacture of the impeller. After the production of the impeller, the projections in the mold halves having the geometric shape of the sectors may be drawn axially apart from one another in one simple step, thereby providing a cost-effective production of the impeller.

Abstract: A navigation system for journeys beyond national borders in which the data medium needs to be changed includes a reader designed to hold a plurality of changeable data media and to read data selectively from one of the data media. The navigation system also includes means for selecting a data medium on the basis of the vehicle position. Hence, when a national border is crossed, the navigation system will automatically change the data medium, which means that continuous navigation is ensured without any action from the user.
Abstract: In an extraction method for a casting mold with a plurality of mold parts which can be displaced by electric motors, the electric motors are activated as a function of values deposited in a memory. The values represent required values for the respective positions of the mold parts. Abstract: A device for measuring a fill level of a liquid includes an ultrasonic sensor with two sensor elements. One of the sensor elements determines the echo time of an ultrasonic wave to a float which follows the liquid level. The other of the sensor elements determines the echo time of the ultrasonic wave up to a measuring reflector arranged at a known distance from the other of the sensor elements. An evaluation unit compares the echo times and determines the fill level of the liquid from the ratio of echo times and from the known distance to the measuring reflector.
Abstract: In an electric motor, one one bearing plate (4) is made of plastic. A heat dissipation plate (9) is arranged a short distance in front of that side of the bearing plate (4) which faces the interior of the electric motor. The heat dissipation plate (9) carries heat from a bearing (5) to an electric motor housing (6), which is made of metal. Abstract: A closure device, especially for vehicle doors, possesses a rotary latch interacting with a closure pin, a releasable ratchet for arresting the door, and a motor-driven shutting aid, which moves the door into the closed position. A problem from safety aspects is activating the shutting aid if fingers or articles are still located between the door and the bodywork. In order to reduce the risk of injury or damage, when the release mechanism is actuated, the force flow between the drive of the shutting aid and the door to be closed is simultaneously mechanically interrupted. As a result of this measure, the rotary latch is immediately released and the door springs open.
Abstract: A delivery device (2) for delivering fuel, having a delivery pump (3) and a fuel filter (7), has a bypass line (9) which is conducted past the fuel filter (7). When new, the delivery pump (3) delivers fuel through the fuel filter (7). After the fuel filter (7) has become clogged with dirt, the fuel is delivered by the bypass line (9) through a second fuel filter (10). By this means, pollution of the environment with fuel is kept particularly low.

Abstract: A feed device (2) for fuel in a motor vehicle has a pressure regulating valve (7) arranged in a forward-flow line (6) leading to an internal combustion engine. The pressure regulating valve (7) is activated by a pressure within a return-flow line (10) and opens or closes a branch (8) leading to a suction jet pump (5). A pressure provided in the forward-flow line (6) can thereby be regulated with particularly high accuracy.
Abstract: A level transmitter for a liquid container includes a simple construction without feed lines to the sensors through the container wall. The level transmitter has a plurality of sensors made from magnetostrictive material, which are excited to oscillate by an alternating magnetic field emitted by a transceiver unit. The sensors oscillate at different frequencies which are detected by the transceiver unit. The detected signals are fed to an evaluation unit and used to form a signal for the level. The level transmitter and the method are particularly suitable for use in fuel tanks in motor vehicles.
Abstract: In a feed device with a filling-level sensor fastened to a wall of a baffle, the filling-level sensor has a lever wire for holding a float. The lever wire is fastenable in different orientations on a pivotably mounted yoke. The pivoting range of the float is set by the selected orientation of the lever wire. The feed device is consequently suitable for use in differently constructed fuel tanks.
