Patent number: 6761524Abstract: Loadhandling equipment enables a vehicle to put down on the ground or pick up a load such as a dumpster and to tip the load, which is provided on a front face with a lifting bar. The equipment includes a deformable and tilting handling arm which can assume, in addition to a transport position and a putting down on the ground or picking up position, a tipping position in which a hook interengages with the lifting bar on the load on being pivoted by a tilting actuator about a transverse pivot axis at the rear of the equipment and spaced downwardly from the longitudinal section of the handling arm. The transverse rear pivot axis is behind and under the side members of the chassis frame of the vehicle and the frame of the equipment has an L-shaped profile with a first branch on top of the side members of the chassis frame. An upper portion of the second branch is against the rear of the side members.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2002Date of Patent: July 13, 2004Assignee: MarrelInventors: Noël Chabanas, Thierry Goiran

Patent number: 6712578Abstract: Loadhandling equipment enables a vehicle to put down on the ground or pick up a load such as a dumpster and to tip the load, which has a lifting bar on a front face. The equipment includes a deformable and tilting handling arm which can assume, in addition to a transport position and a putting down on the ground or picking up position, a tipping position to which a hook adapted to interengage with the lifting bar is pivoted by a tilting actuator about a transverse pivot axis at the rear end of the equipment. The articulation about the transverse pivot axis is releasable and an actuator is provided to raise a link which is part of the handling arm by pivoting it upward and forward. The equipment can stand on its end a load which is at a greater height when standing on end than when it is positioned on the equipment.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2002Date of Patent: March 30, 2004Assignee: MarrelInventors: Noël Chabanas, Thierry Goiran

Patent number: 6158947Abstract: A device includes a handling structure which has an end portion and a remaining part. The device also includes a driving arrangement which drives the handling structure between (i) a position of transportation in which the remaining part is disposed along a chassis of the vehicle and in which the end portion is at the front, and (ii) a position of picking up a load or placing it on the ground where the end portion is at the rear of the remaining part and behind the vehicle with its free end at a certain height with respect to the ground, in order to cooperate with a load whose gripping means is lower. In addition, the device includes a connecting arrangement which connects the free end of the end portion to the gripping arrangement and a controlling arrangement which controls the distance between the gripping arrangement and the end of the end portion using which the later is attached to the remainder of the handling structure.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1999Date of Patent: December 12, 2000Assignee: MarrelInventors: Thierry Goiran, Jean-Louis Claudinon

Patent number: 5542808Abstract: An apparatus which includes a tilting jack of which the axis on which it is articulated to the tilting structure is in front of the axis on which it is articulated on the frame and in which the tilting structure and the frame are so adapted that the effect of actuating the tilting jack is to cause a lifting hook to tilt about a first transverse tilting axis between a position for starting or finishing tilting and a position for changing the axis, and about a second transverse tilting axis between the position for changing the axis and a position for picking up a load from, or setting down on, the ground.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1994Date of Patent: August 6, 1996Assignee: MarrelInventors: Alain Chiron, Albert Heritier

Patent number: 5415199Abstract: Hydraulic actuators are fed by a single flow-rate generator, each being connected to it through a proportional directional valve, the unit including a device for detecting the highest of the pressures prevailing upstream of the throttle provided by a controlled spool in the respective proportional directional valves, and, in each of these an actuation device to cause the compensating spool to respond to the highest of the upstream pressures thus detected.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 1993Date of Patent: May 16, 1995Assignee: MarrelInventors: Jean-Louis Claudinon, Andre Rousset

Patent number: 5386697Abstract: Hydraulic actuators are fed by a single flow-rate generator, each being connected to it through a proportional directional valve, the unit including at least one auxiliary valve fed by the flow-rate generator and producing a pressure which is normally equal to a regulation pressure increased by a constant, and in each proportional directional valve an actuating device causes the compensating spool to respond to the pressure produced by the auxiliary valve.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 1993Date of Patent: February 7, 1995Assignee: MarrelInventors: Jean-Louis Claudinon, Andre Rousset

Patent number: 5281072Abstract: A wagon for carrying a lifting cradle having a wagon chassis and at least one pivotable body mounted to pivot about an axis for pivoting and guides for receiving at least one lifting cradle. Components for locking the lifting cradle to the chassis include a shaft fixed to the chassis and disposed along the vertical axis for pivoting, two attachment arms disposed on either side of a longitudinal plane of symmetry and mounted on the shaft to pivot between an unlocking configuration and a locking configuration, the arms including noses projecting laterally each adapted, in the locking configuration, to engage between two substantially transverse sides of a housing provided on the side beams of the lifting cradle and, in the unlocked configuration, to be outside the housings. Elements to control and guide the movement of the arms and to block the arms in the locked configuration are attached to the arms.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1992Date of Patent: January 25, 1994Assignee: MarrelInventors: Jean-Baptiste Patouillard, Paul Fanget, Jean-Louis Chevalier
