Patent number: 4758123Abstract: The present invention pertains to a platform having a front trestle that is designed for the handling of containers. This platform includes four ISO Standard corner fittings. The platform includes at its rear tiltable extension arms which selectively provide two rear twist locks on the platform, these in combination with two twist locks on the front of the platform provides a total of four twist locks. Because the rear twist locks can be rotated to a rearward operating position, the platform can receive an ISO type container regardless of the thickness of the trestle. When the rear twist locks are rotated to a forward retracted position, generally shaped containers can be handled as well. With this arrangement, the tiltable arms and their twist locks cannot be separated from the platform and can therefore not be lost.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1986Date of Patent: July 19, 1988Assignee: Bennes MarrelInventor: Antoine Corompt

Patent number: 4662796Abstract: The invention relates to a travelling support pillar for use in underground mines. The support pillar has a link subjected to the action of a positioning jack. The positioning jack extends between a gate and the rear of the top of the pillar. The positioning jack hydraulically locks the support pillar by means of a sliding pressure-relief valve to compensate for load changes due to the movement of the floor or the roof. The link also permits the support pillar to be collapsed for transportation, and it provides a support pillar with a shorter length and a lower height in the collapsed position, and it permits the top of the support pillar to be placed closer to the working face of the mine when the pillar is in its roof supporting extended position.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1984Date of Patent: May 5, 1987Assignee: Bennes MarrelInventor: Paul Fanget

Patent number: 4633762Abstract: A speed limiting hydraulic slide valve. The slide valve is provided with control pressure chambers at each end thereof. The slide is provided with a longitudinal passage at each end and this passage opens into the adjacent control pressure chamber. Each passage is normally closed by a check valve. Each longitudinal passage communicates with a peripheral passage on the valve of the slide by means of a radial passage. If the hydraulic actuator, such as a cylinder, begins to move too rapidly, the pressure in the radial passage will drop, and the pressure in the appropriate control pressure chamber will thereupon overcome the check valve in the passage which opens into such chamber, and this will cause the valve slide to move in a direction which will decelerate the action of the cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1984Date of Patent: January 6, 1987Assignee: Bennes MarrelInventor: Maurice Tardy

Patent number: 4548541Abstract: A method and apparatus for loading of a piece of equipment on a lorry. The apparatus includes an arm pivotally interconnected with the lorry and a first jack interposed the lorry and the arm. A jib is telescopically interconnected with the arm. A movable platform is interconnected with a hook on the jib. A cable passes over a pulley interconnected with the movable platform and is hooked to the chassis at one of its ends and to the piece of equipment at the other of its ends. The method includes the steps of moving the piece of equipment rearwardly along the movable platform, the movement of the piece of equipment therealong acting through the cable and pulley to displace the movable platform rearwardly relative to the lorry until the movable platform and the piece of equipment are displaced to a position wherein they are unbalanced on the lorry. Gravity is then used to permit the lowering, by a tilting action, of the movable platform.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1983Date of Patent: October 22, 1985Assignee: Bennes MarrelInventor: Antoine Corompt
