  • Patent number: 11808077
Abstract: A patio door assembly includes a panel with a glass unit, and a polymer frame including a bottom member with a sill platform. A support beam is coupleable to the bottom member over the sill platform. The support beam defines a first channel between a top surface of the support beam and a platform, defines a second channel between the platform and the sill platform, a slot defined in the platform of the support beam. A structural insert is insertable in an end of the support beam and can be positioned in the support beam such that the structural insert supports a setting block for the glass unit of the panel to facilitate transferring a weight of the panel to the sill platform. The structural insert inhibits deformation of the frame when the patio door assembly is exposed to a high temperature environment (e.g., a desert environment).

  • Patent number: 11679424
Abstract: A method for disposing of biomass waste. The method includes locating an abandoned mine having a first well drilled into or through the abandoned mine. Water is removed from a mine cavity through a second well drilled into or through the abandoned mine. The water from the mine is combined with a biomass waste that is at least 70 wt. % carbon to provide biomass waste entrained in the water. The biomass waste entrained in the water is pumped through the first well into the mine cavity to fill the mine cavity. As the biomass waste settles in the mine cavity, the water used to entrain the biomass waste is recirculated to combine with additional biomass waste.

  • Patent number: 11634841
Abstract: A method for producing a woven fabric comprises weaving fibers in a warp direction and a weft direction to form a fabric having a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein the warp fibers and weft fibers each comprises one or more filaments of a synthetic polymer having substantially uniform cross-sectional composition. At least a portion of the filaments in the fibers on the top and/or bottom surface of the fabric are then fused together in the presence of a heat transfer liquid or vapor added during the fusing step or added in a prior step of the fabric production process and retained by the filaments. The fusing step produces a treated fabric having a tensile strength in both the warp and weft directions of 1000 N or greater and having, in the absence of any coating, a static air permeability (SAP) of 3 l/dm2/min or lower.
